Gok Wan has called X Factor twins John And Edward Grimes his “guilty pleasure”.

The How To Look Good Naked presenter told PA: “I like them because I think they’ve got b***s to go out there every single week and have some fun.

“For two 18-year-olds from Ireland with that amount of self confidence, and I’m all about confidence, I think it’s brilliant.”

He continued: “They’ve got the bows and bangles, the pyrotechnics, everything about them is creating brilliant stage shows and, you know what, it’s a Saturday night, it’s what you want, you don’t want to see somebody crying over a piano all night.”

However, Gok doesn’t think that the teenagers have a chance of winning the show.

He said: “I don’t think they’re going to win for a second because I think there’s better talent in the show, but they know that and they believe in themselves.”

Gok Wan has admitted that he tried and failed to chat up Simon Cowell at a showbiz party.

“I was introduced to him at a party and I’d had a bit to drink,” Wan told Now magazine. “I suddenly found myself crouching down saying, ‘Hi Simon, how are you?’ I’m chatting him up like I’m 18 again in a nightclub!

“He just sat there and smiled at me. He was very accommodating. Not as accommodating as he was in my fantasies, but there you go.”

Stylist superstar Gok Wan returns to transform his ‘gorgeous girls’ into absolute stunners, in a bid to encourage the nation’s women to embrace their beautiful bodies – ‘bangers’ and all. In the first episode of the new series Gok transforms a mother and daughter for the first time.

Mum and daughter Margaret and Maria from Derbyshire are aged 62 and 39. Both of them have such dreadful body confidence they fear they are passing their negative body issues on to Maria’s two young daughters. GMTV’s suave, sophisticated, good looking sofa host Ben Shephard is the latest celebrity to ‘get Goked’ as he hits the high street with Gok Wan for his Channel 4 series Gok’s Fashion Fix.

Gok is determined that clean cut Ben, known for his sharp suits and day time demeanour will be ‘sexed up’ and uses his as his very own ‘Ben doll’.

Gok says: “I want him to be looking a bit dirtier and a whole lot more Goked.’

As the pair embark on their shopping trip, Gok jokes that they’re going to start by checking out some new pants when Ben admits to the style guru that he doesn’t wear any under crackers.

Ben: “But I don’t wear underwear!”

A delighted Gok says: “I don’t think I’ve ever been so turned on in my entire life as I am right now. Big thighs, small waist, broad shoulder and no underwear!

“I wanna get that rough edge out, I wanna filth you up.”

Keen to deviate from the shirts and v-neck jumpers, Gok laden’s Ben with armfuls of leather jackets, scruffed up jeans, and dishevelled shirts before getting him into the changing rooms for the restyle.

And ladies you’ll be delighted to hear that super fit Ben gets in the buff. But this time unfortunately he is wearing underwear…

Gok: “I never thought I’d say this but Ben Shephard can we get your jeans off?!”

Famed for his often outlandish style ideas, Gok starts off by putting Ben in some khaki combat harem pants… which are definitely a step too far for Ben.

“What was it that made you think these would suit me, MC Hammer meets Frankie Dettori. I could be a jockey in these!” says Ben.

Starting over, Gok gets him in to a black long sleeve top and dishevelled look black scarf, and it’s not long before Ben is noticing a startling similarity between his new look and that of another’s…

Ben: “Black top, a little detailing around here [neckline], who am I starting to look like? Hmmm?!”

Clad in an All Saints T shirt, leather jacket, G Star Raw jeans, aviators and the now eponymous black scarf Ben really is Gok mark two. Walking out of the store Ben says aloud:

“What do you mean I look like Gok Wan? Anyone wanna buy a scarf?”

Breakfast TV darling Lorraine Kelly first got the Gok treatment on series one of Gok’s Fashion Fix.

This week, the pair is reunited for a progress report and Gok gives the Scottish lass some more style tips for 2009.

It’s the moment Gok has always dreamed about- an invitation into LK’s boudoir.

Things get a bit saucy when Gok relaxed on Lorraine’s bed. Lorraine proceeded to jump up and down on him. “Lorraine Kelly is mounting me!” screams Gok.

Queen of Saturday night TV, and national treasure Cilla Black, reveals she once spent over £5000 on a pair of designer jeans from the USA, and says she becomes ‘the reckless old pensioner abroad’ on her holidays.

Cilla, usually seen sporting the smartest of designer outfits on TV, divulged her most extravagant purchase to style guru Gok Wan during a high street makeover for his Channel 4 series Goks Fashion Fix.

“I have actually paid over £5000 to go to New York to get my American jeans. I’m not joking, I’m ashamed” says Cilla.

Gobsmacked at her extravagance Gok tells Cilla she has the most expensive behind in the business.

“Basically that’s about £5,200 for one pair of jeans. You’ve got the most expensive arse in the industry!”

Cilla, self-confessed designer devotee, thought she’d never get a decent pair of jeans on the high street. “I have to have bespoke jeans. I have to have really expensive jeans because I live in my jeans when I’m not on camera.”

Pointing out a pair of grey £40 skinny jeans Cilla says: “I love those jeans. I wouldn’t wear them over here but I’d wear them in Barbados, and Florida. I can totally relax in Barbados, I’m the reckless old age pensioner abroad but I don’t do flip flops. I do platforms; I always wear heels on holiday.”

In an attempt to get her out of her designer clobber and into high street fashions, Gok eventually converts Cilla to the wonder of high street denim in a pair of Topshop jeans for £35, a leather jacket from All Saints and sparkly sequin top.

Thoroughly impressed with her new rock chick look, Cilla tells Gok ‘I love it love it love it’.

“Honestly Gok I wasn’t looking forward to it because I hate shopping but look at this rock chick! I’m looking at me self and I’m saying ‘bring on the boys’!”

Channel 4 comedian Alan Carr has admitted that he, Jonathan Ross and Gok Wan all got very emotional whilst filming for this years Comic Relief Does The Apprentice.

Alan told MSN: “You’re up at 7am then you’ve got to go to bed at 11pm and there’s no outside contact,” he said. “So you know when you see them crying on the show and you go ‘you wuss’… but my god there were bits, I don’t know if they kept it in but I was choked, Gok was upset, Jonathan Ross was a bit.”

However all the tears and dramas were worth it in the end when the boys came up with a product that Alan really believed in:

“I sound really sad because I never thought I would be like that but you’re with it 24 hours a day and I love that product, that product is me, it’s my blood and tears and then when you get some criticism you end up welling up.

“They just stuck the gays together so me and Gok spent a lot of the time together – him mincing around with a handbag and then me behind him with a bin liner.”

Gok Wan is a man after my own specky heart! Having discovered that large amounts of bespectacled children get bullied in the playground, style guru Gok is taking part in a campaign to make glasses cool.

A Specsavers survey found that almost half of glasses-wearing children suffer name calling, and a fifth are known to have skipped school to avoid the taunts.

So the How To Look Good Naked presenter is urging people to ditch their contact lenses and wear their specs with pride for National Glasses Day on Friday.

Having suffered similar taunting himself as a child Gok said: “Classroom taunts can cause long-term damage to a child’s self-esteem and their education.

“It’s difficult to believe that children are still being called names for wearing glasses, especially considering many celebrities are regularly photographed wearing the latest geek-chic styles.

“I want children to know they are not abnormal, they are not freaks, they are just kids who happen to wear glasses.”
