Graham Norton has admitted that he is confused by the BBC’s decision to buy the rights for Nigel Lythgoe’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’
Norton claims that the format Lyhtgoe’s show is almost identical to an old BBC show, Strictly Dance Fever, which he fronted for BBC One in 2005 and 2006.
Norton told The Mirror: “I don’t understand why they’ve bought that format from Nigel Lythgoe, when it was a rip-off, sorry, inspired by the Beeb’s Strictly Dance Fever.
Veteran Eurovision presenter Terry Wogan has said that he loved Graham Norton’s coverage this year.
Terry Werry bulgy pants told the Radio Times he thought the contest was “a spectacular show without a flaw in it”.
Terry stepped down from the show after the 2008 contest in Belgrade, where the UK’s entrant Andy Abrahams finished last. He felt the voting system was flawed and biased.
The BBC have revealed that all contestants for Graham Norton’s new show ‘Totally Saturday’ are thoroughly vetted, to ensure they don’t have a Susan Boyle situation.
Susan had a very public breakdown after auditioning for ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, the incident made BBC bosses look again at their procedures for guests on their shows.
Totally Saturday sees Graham Norton playing pranks, Jeremy Beadle style on unsuspecting members of the public.
I am going to be so torn tomorrow night. Which show do I watch live and which do I save for later? Britain’s Got Talent or Eurovision, which will you be choosing?
Jade Ewen is flying the flag for the UK, having won BBC talent search Your Country Needs You, and will be accompanied on piano by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who co-wrote Jade’s song, It’s My Time, with American lyricist Diane Warren. However, the UK will no doubt face stiff competition from the 24 other acts in a line-up decided from last week’s two semi-finals.
In the clip above Matt Lucas and Graham Norton chat about Britain’s Got Talent singer Susan Boyle.
Norton thinks that “for a hairy woman with thick ankles she’s amazing! But as a singer she’s ok.” Whilst Lucas brands her “the best singer I’ve seen who looks like Bernard Manning.”
Eurovision bosses have drafted in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Graham Norton to spice up next years Eurovision song contest.
Webber will lead an X Factor style show which will see him and a panel of judges choose England’s entry to the competition, the show will be presented by camp Norton.
A BBC insider told The Sun: “Millions of Brits watch the Eurovision but always leave disappointed that we’ve done so badly. Read more & comment »

Camp TV presenter, Graham Norton has revealed that he would never appear on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as he fears he would be as bad a dancer as GMTV host, Kate Garraway.
“If you can’t do it, you can’t do it,” Norton told the Daily Record. “Some people do get better but others look like they are recovering from an accident. It’s just terrible.
“I like to think I’d be the one who learned incredibly quickly and in one week got the key to my dance and then was brilliant, but I’ve got an awful feeling I’d be more like Kate Garraway.”

Tonight on BBC One Graham Norton will host an exciting new Saturday night entertainment show which spotlights the UK’s leading tribute acts as they battle it out to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – a three-month performing contract in Las Vegas with the renowned Legends In Concert, one of the world’s longest-running celebrity impersonator shows.
Imagine the glamour and glitz of swinging Sinatra doing big-band battle with the undisputed princess of pop, Kylie, or the timeless Sir Elton John fighting it out against sexy chanteuse Cher in a bid to take the tribute act crown. Performers must not just sing like a musical superstar, but they must also look like them, dress like them and act like them.
The Sun has reported that Graham Norton has been lined up to present a new BBC reality TV show, which will search for the star of the stage and screen classic, Saturday Night Fever.
Keen to replicate the popularity of their current search for a star in Any Dream Will Do, reports suggest that BBC1 chief Peter Fincham is already in talks with Saturday Night Fever’s producer Robert Stigwood, 73, who owns the rights.
A BBC source said: “He’s very keen to get the show, it would get everyone strutting around their living rooms on Saturday nights.
Andrew Lloyd Webber has admitted to being in awe of Graham Norton and believes he is a great presenter for BBC’s Any Dream Will Do.
“I’m just in awe of Graham. His talent is boundless,” Andrew told The Sun. “He does the whole show with an earpiece in and has to concentrate on what he’s saying while someone is firing instructions at him from off-stage. I couldn’t do that!”
He added: “I absolutely love doing the show. I always forget the cameras are there and get caught up in the moment. The show is constructed like a musical in itself. Keeping the audience entertained from start to finish is a challenge and we have to carry their concentration through from A to B.”
Sinitta has spoken about her hurt feelings after reading the derogatory remakrs made about her by TV host, Graham Norton.
“He’s just bloody rude,” Sinitta told the Daily Star Sunday. “I’ve never even met him but I could definitely tear a strip off him if I did. He obviously feels very threatened by me and our show. But all I’d like to say to him is, ‘Both of us are girls, but only one of us is a lady – and it’s not you!’ Read more & comment »
Graham Norton, host of BBC’s Any Dream Will Do, has spoken out once more about ITV’s rival show, Grease Is The Word.
Graham told the Sun.:
“Grease Is The Word is Simon Cowell’s show but he’s not on the panel. People would take it more seriously if he was,”
“Our panel really know what they’re talking about.”
He then turned his attention to judges David Gest and Sinnitta:
“I’m not quite sure why [David’s] there,” he added. “He looks crazy like an utter nut job but he’s probably the most sane and normal person in there. And what about Sinitta? That’s the question the nation is asking. She’s finally got a job now so she can pay the rent.” Ouch!
