Simon Cowell Criticises Grease Is The Word

Grease Is The WordSimon Cowell has suprisingly joined the ranks of critics of ITV’s new reality TV show, Grease Is The Word.

The Daily Mail reported that Simon, who is on the production team of the show, commented:

“Grease Is The Word is not going as well as I had hoped. It has been slaughtered by critics and rightly so. It is far too similar to our other formats.”

As the show still has five weeks to run I can’t imagine Simons comments will help the ratings any!

David Gest Invites Chris Moyles For Dinner

David Gest: I’m A CelebrityGrease is The Word judge, David Gest, has invited Radio One DJ, Chris Moyles to dinner aftre being banned from his show.

Gest was late for Moyles’ show last week and Chris angrily declared:

“I’m shaking I’m so angry.”

But David Gest wants to make amends and stated:

“I’d like to take him to dinner, if we can agree a time that’s not too early.”

Wayne Smith & Hayley Clarke Leave Grease Is The Word

Wayne Smith and Hayley ClarkeWith six couples left in the competition, this week the Judges have set the contestants a challenge, from here on in they make their own decisions, from choosing the songs to their styling and make-up. If there is any criticism from the Judges then they only have themselves to blame. And tonight?s theme, set by David Ian was musicals.

But for one couple their Grease journey has come to an end and this week the decision rested on David Ian’s shoulders and making the most difficult decision so far in the competition. But the Judges were unanimous and for Wayne and Hayley it’s the end of the road as they chose to save Bradley and Michelle, who the Judges felt had much more to offer.

The Saturday Grease Chart: 12 May 2007

Grease Is The WordPhew, tough night on Grease Is The Word tonight. Much disappointment among the judges as they felt performances weren’t completely up to West-end standards.

Here’s who we thought were the best candidates on Grease this evening:

  1. Anthony & AlisonTonight’s The Night. Rave reviews from the panels. If ever there was an act I’d consider to be a fix on this show it’s Kav and Alison. But then I have to grudgingly admit that Kav was fantastic this evening. Definitely the best performance of the night.

Grease Is The Word: Sinitta Gets Two Body Guards

Grease Is The WordGrease Is The Word judge, Sinitta, will have the benefit of two bulky bodyguards on the ITV TV show tonight as she wears a £250,000 necklace.

Sinitta will be wearing the diamond and platinum necklace on behalf of charity Caudwell Children who will be auctioning it off later this month.

An insider said: “Because of safety fears producers have hired two bodyguards.

“They are under instructions to stay by her side all night to ensure that the necklace does not go missing.”

Chris Moyles Rants About David Gest

After David Gest failed to show up for yet another interview on the Chris Moyles Radio One breakfast show, Chris launched a tirade against the American that was surprising to say the least.

David was supposed to appear on Chris’ show last week but missed it due to Visa problems. He was then due to appear on yesterdays show at 8.30am and was told to be there by 8.15. When the music producers failed to appear on time Chris began his rant, stating: Read more & comment »

David Gest: Impossible Demands?

The Sunday Mirror has reported today that David Gest is costing ITV a small fortune with his bizarre and extravagant demands.

The newspaper reported:

As well as a DVD of himself on I’m A Celebrity being continuously played in his dressing room, he demanded bottles of sparkling and still mineral water “at no more than 2degC”, freshly-squeezed orange juice – “room temperature” – and 12 bottles of bubbly, along with 10 Swarovski crystal champagne flutes at £100 a go. Graham NortonSinitta has spoken about her hurt feelings after reading the derogatory remakrs made about her by TV host, Graham Norton.

“He’s just bloody rude,” Sinitta told the Daily Star Sunday. “I’ve never even met him but I could definitely tear a strip off him if I did. He obviously feels very threatened by me and our show. Grease Is The Word: Richard Morgan And Joanna Power Leave The Show

Richard Morgan and Joanna PowerFrom the thousands of people who initially auditioned, tonight just seven couples remain and their fate is quite literally in your hands.

With the shock departure last week of favourites Kate Somerset-How and Tom Bradley, the contestants know they need to up their game to win public votes and stay on in the competition.

This week the theme is classic movie songs and with a focus on vocal performance, the contestants are feeling the pressure.

Judging are the celebrity panel, Theatre Producer, David Ian, Choreographer to the stars, Brian Friedman, West End star Sinitta and Showbiz Producer Mr David Gest but ultimately the decision rests in the publics hands. Grease Boys Challenge Any Dream Boys To A Fight

After spending this week training in the same dance studio, the boys from ITV’s TV show Grease Is The Word, reckon they could beat the boys from BBC’s Any Dream Will Do in a fight.

Grease Is The Word contestant Michael Quinn said: “We could take the Joseph boys any day of the week. If we bumped into them in a dark alley, I’ve got no doubt us boys would kick their loincloth asses!”

Bradley Clarkson, also from the ITV entertainment show, added: “The Joseph boys have been using the same dance studios as us for training. We were tempted to rush in the other day and have a big dance-off, as I’ve no doubt we’ve got better moves than them.”

Grease Is The Word: Saturday 5th May

Grease ITV JudgesAfter the shock eviction of early favourites Tom Bradley and Kate Somerset-How, the seven remaining couples have been rehearsing hard all week in preparation for the second live show, and this week’s theme is Movie songs.

You Better Shape Up!

In an attempt to step up their game all the contestants, especially the boys, have been concentrating on getting themselves as fit as possible. They’ve been doing daily lengths in the swimming pool and they’ve even converted the lounge into a gym, complete with weights. Anthony Kavanagh, Michael Quinn and Richard Morgan, who have all received harsh criticism from the Judges about their size and fitness levels, are determined to prove to the Judges that they do have enough stamina to perform eight nights a week on the West End.

Dance choreographer Stacey Haines said of the boys differing fitness levels, “A number of the boys have been told that they need to shape up, and it’s only this week that I’ve noticed they’ve started to take that seriously. After we banned them from eating fast food and asked them to improve their diets and I’ve certainly noticed a raise in stamina levels this week.” Read more & comment »

David GestDavid Gest had to flee from the UK to Ireland last night after his Visa ran out. His move has worried Grease Is The Word bosses who need him back in the country for the live show on Saturday night.
