BACKGROUND:
Greg started singing when he was 13 in the car with his mum but it wasn’t until he was 17 that he joined his 6th form choir. This was because he sounds like a women and he wasn’t sure how people would perceive it. Two years ago Greg’s dad passed away so he put everything on hold to look after his mum.

Britain’s Got talent singer Greg Pritchard has admitted that he was extremely nervous about appearing on the show and sure that people would think he was a freak.
He told The Sun: “I was really scared of how I would be portrayed. While my singing is normal for me, it can be quite shocking.
“I thought people would see me as a freak of nature and just laugh. I don’t mind being seen as a freak — but a freak in a good way.

Greg Pritchard showed up on Saturday night’s Britain’s Got Talent and instead of performing the edgy rock song we all expected, he launched into a soprano version of Nessun Dorma.

One of the more memorable acts from tomorrow night’s Britain’s Got Talent is 24 year old hotel waiter Greg Pritchard from Usk. As Greg explains, “I’ve always sung in the car and my bedroom and my Mum is always shouting at me to turn the music down and stop singing” but he is hoping today that he can be the second Welsh singer to win Britain’s Got Talent and perform at the Royal Variety. And like series 1 winner Paul Potts, Greg today is also going to be singing Nessun Dorma. But unlike Paul Potts, the Judges reaction, especially Simon’s, to Greg’s singing is one of bewilderment as Greg sings in the highest, rather than the lowest ranges.
