Hot Gossip shot to fame in the 70s following appearances on The Kenny Everett Video Show and Top of the Pops. Their biggest selling hit was ‘I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper’ which featured vocals from opera diva Sarah Brightman.

Apparently, Simon Cowell’s pet popstar Sinitta also stood in as a “ghost vocalist” on a few of their pop songs.

I would think that the members of Hot Gossip are now getting about with the help of Zimmer frames and false hips though, so it remains to be seen if they’ll still be Hot Gossip or A Chat By A Warm Fire sort of a group.
