After Dougie Poynter’s recent stint in rehab, it has been revealed that his fellow McFly members, have stopped drinking also, in order to make his abstinence easier.

The I’m A Celebrity winner went into meltdown last year, after his split from The Saturdays’ singer Frankie Sandford and hit the bottle in a big way. He later sought help and dried out, but in an attempt to help him stay off the booze, Dougie admitted that his pals have all more or less stopped drinking too.

The hunky bassist told The Mirror:

“None of the boys really drink now to help me out. We are all a bit more grown-up now, so the novelty has kind of worn off. In the early days of McFly, we went wild!”

“I’m not missing the booze. I had to give up because I always took it too far. Now I’m clear-headed, I like being hangover-free – I get a lot more achieved.

“Once you get through that barrier at events and nights out, you realise you aren’t getting drunk and it’s fine.”

After Dougie won I’m A Celebrity and Harry Judd triumphed on Strictly Come Dancing, the boys are set to capitalise on their second shot at fame and will embark on a UK wide tour this April.

The tour will consist of 26 dates and in order to rehearse for their upcoming gigs, the band have all joined Harry on the Strictly Come Dancing tour and will fit their practice sessions around his performances.

Mark Wright and Dougie Poynter are reportedly trying to pitch an idea for a TV show, to interested channel bosses.

The I’m A Celebrity stars struck up quite the bromance in the jungle camp of the ITV show last year and are now hoping to front a “a high-energy, fun-packed entertainment” show, according to sources close to the pair.

An insider told The Daily Star that Mark is taking the lead in approaching producers for the series and explained:

“Mark and Doug are itching to land their own TV show, something they can front together as a duo. Mark has loads of ideas and is really serious about trying to get producers to consider them.

“They’re both really active and sporty so a high-energy, fun-packed entertainment show would be ideal. They have a huge fan base, individually and together. Most girls fancy them but they also appeal to men as they’ve got the blokey banter.”

The pair have even picked people to host the show and are said to be keen to get Ant and Dec on board, after striking up a close friendship with the Geordie duo during last year’s IAC series.

“Mark has admitted Ant & Dec are a huge inspiration,” they added.

It was also recently reported that Mark has landed himself his first movie role and will play the love interest of Kelly Brook, in an upcoming British film.

Popstar and jungle king Dougie Poynter loved his time on I’m A Celeb and got especially close with a certain someone. Speaking about his close relationship with Mark Wright, the McFly star told The Sun’s TV Buzz:

“Everyone was really lovely, and of course everyone was joking about my ‘bromance’ with Mark Wright, weirdly we didn’t talk about girls much there – if you’re hungry your libido falls out your pants.”

But even though he was tight-lipped about girls, Dougie did talk about his rehab experience:

“I didn’t mean to talk about it but I’m glad I did, it got rid of a lot of inner demons: I’m not ashamed of it,” he explained.

Dougie admitted the hardest thing about the show was being away from his girlfriend Lara Carew-Jones.

“We met about six months ago when I commissioned her to do a painting for me, we were meant to meet for an hour and eight hours later we were still chatting,” he added.

Dougie also revealed the truth behind the marriage rumours saying:

“There’s a rumour we’re getting married and I’m not sure where that came from. Of course I’d like to get married in the future. Will I marry Lara? Definitely. I’d quite like a Star Wars-themed wedding.”

Not only was Dougie the king of the jungle, his McFly bandmate Harry Judd was named king of Strictly Come Dancing. Dougie teased, “Harry and I were joking about both doing reality shows and I pointed out that I had to eat a penis, whereas all he had to do is dance around in sequins.” Both are hoping to win awards at the National Television awards, and they will certainly celebrate in style if they win: “Every time McFly win something we strip naked and post a picture, so maybe I’ll mix it up and Tweet a picture of me fully clothed.”

King of the Jungle Dougie Poynter swapped creepy crawlies for the Strictly Come Dancing studio to show his support for his dancing bandmate Harry Judd.

Fresh from his victory on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Dougie brought along his crown to show Harry how it’s done ahead of this Saturday’s Strictly final. Will it be a double victory for the McFly boys?

Harry will face stiff competition this weekend from Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healy and Australian star Jason Donovan. However bookies seem sure he is set to triumph….would you agree?

Mark Wright turned into a mad emotional wreck screaming for Dougie to help him during the fright filled overnight I’m A Celebrity challenge this evening and Sinitta became the first celebrity to shout “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here” when fear got the better of her during the battle of wills trial that which could gain their team immunity from being voted out first.

The orange team were at a disadvantage for only winning one of the three previous Beat the Bugs rounds starting with just 30 minutes on their clock as opposed to the blue team who had earned themselves an hour.

Each team set off in the night to the middle of the jungle where they were to spend as long as possible lying in a Perspex box bed accompanied, of course, by their worst fears – claustrophobia, spiders, rats and snakes. The team that clocked up the most hours won immunity from the public voting them off.

Each team could pick what critter to place in their opposing team’s beds, so the orange team immediately decided rats for Mark, while the blue team chose cockroaches for Sinitta and snakes for Antony.

A very scared Sinitta took her time before getting into bed claiming the night was “like a Freddie Kruger movie”. She tried to shield herself with a blanket against what was going to appear through the holes but was soon shouting to get out – and was sent back to camp. “As we approached our beds I felt my legs go and I thought I’d pass out, I couldn’t breathe properly and it reminded me of when I was a little girl and my mum used to have to search under the bed, beds are supposed to be safe places and this was my worst nightmare.

Next out was Antony who was freaked out by having three large snakes as bed mates, especially when one went to toilet on his leg. “Oh god, oh god, my plan has backfired and I’ve now got a snake on top of me” as the python stretched out the length of the soap star. “Get me out; I can’t cope with them anymore, ” he pleaded.

Wearing his bandana over his face, Mark squealed for most of the night saying: “Dougie, I can’t do this”, as more and more rats ran into his bed, “I’ve got to get out, I can’t sleep, they are my worse thing in the world, they are crawling into my pyjamas, they are getting more confident, I can’t do it! I’m going to be sick, they stink and are doing poo’s all over my bed. This is the worst thing I’ve had to do, ever.”

Emily had been very brave spending the night with lots of crabs but had a panic attack and started sobbing. “I don’t like being in the box, I’m claustrophobic, I fell asleep but when I woke up my heart started going but I will stay.”

Chrissy was the first of the blue team to leave after bravely bearing hundreds of cockroaches pouring over her and crawling into her ears, she laid completely still all night in focused silence.

“I’m freezing and I feel like Beetlejuice,” she said.

Fatima endured rats nibbling at her and was called Ratima by her camp mates. Lorraine had yabbies while Willie got all giggly and twitchy with cockroaches. A very cool Stefanie was accompanied by crabs. Willie said: “I wish I had crabs”. Antony warned him to be careful for what he wished for.
As dawn rose over the jungle, the remaining celebrities were released from their boxes and returned to camp. The results showed that the blue team were the victors and saved from the public vote with 35 hours and 56 minutes against the orange team’s 29 hours and 22 minutes.

We are only one day into the 2011 series, but already Mark Wright is being tipped as the favourite to win this year’s I’m A Celebrity run.

The former star of ITV2′s The Only Way Is Essex, was seen jumping out of a helicopter and sky diving into camp last night and was part of the winning team that were put into the luxury camp.

Twitter seemed full of love for the nightclub promoter and William Hill are offering odds of 11/4 on him taking the crown, while Camp Corrie star, Antony Cotton is in second place with 10/3. McFly bassist, Dougie is 6/1 with Willie Carson and Lorraine Chase both 8/1.

“The camp has been split up and even after the first show, there is a definite sense of who will be making it into the latter stages of the show,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Stacey Solomon has announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

The I’m A Celebrity winner and former X Factor runner up – who is already mum to son Zachary – is elated about her expanding brood, although she admitted that she and boyfriend of three years, Aaron Barnham were surprised with the development.

She admitted that the pregnancy wasn’t planned, but in a chat with The Sun added:

“We are really excited!

“And I’m really looking forward to everything, knowing I am sharing it with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

The Essex born singer also admitted that she plans to find out the sex of her new tot asap, as she can’t wait to find out if she’s carrying a little brother or sister for Zac.

According to What’s On TV, Brazilian born Aggro – whose real name is Yuri Santos – is charged with raping one woman in Chichester, West Sussex, on May 7, and another in Yeovil, Somerset, between September 25 and 26 last year.

WOTV adds, “Another man, 21-year-old Tyrelle Ritchie, has been charged with one count of sexual assault in Chichester on the same date.”

yesterday, Santos appeared at Chichester Magistrates’ Court alongside Ritchie, but no pleas were entered during the five-minute hearing. Both were granted continued bail and ordered to appear at Chichester Crown Court on January 5 next year.

Aggro Santos has been charged with two separate offences of rape.

The British rapper and former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star – real name Yuri Santos – was featured on last year’s series of the ITV1 reality TV show, alongside Kayla Collins, Stacey Solomon and Dom Joly.

It has been reported today that one of the crimes he has been charged with relates back to an incident which allegedly occurred in May 2011, when two girls, ages 17 and 18, claimed that he and a pal sexually assaulted them.

“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Sussex Police to charge a man in relation to two separate investigations of rape in Somerset and Sussex and a second man in relation to the offence in Sussex,” Sussex Police said this afternoon.

“Yuri Santos, 22, of Bickersteth Road, London, has been charged with two offences of rape; one in Chichester on 7 May, 2011, and another in Yeovil between 25-26 September last year.”

Santos and one other man will now appear before Chichester Magistrates Court on September 19.

He first rose to fame in early 2010 when his debut single “Candy”, featuring vocals from ex-Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt, peaked at #5 in the UK charts and also featured in the film ‘Street Dance 3D’.

His other two singles are ‘Saint or Sinner’, released on 22 August 2010 and ‘Like U Like (featuring Kimberly Walsh)’, released on 16 January 2011.

Its that time of year again when we all wait with bated breath to find out who are the latest celebrities that will soon entertain our cold winter evenings by chewing on kangaroo goolies!

As rumours of the who’s and the how’s and the ultimate suggestions, every now and then a name gets thrown in who actually has agreed to go, is this one of them? We shall let you be the judge.

Aaron Carter, 90′s teenbopper heart throb, younger brother to Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, is the most recent to be tipped as joining the jungle crew this year.

Whilst sources are keeping very tight lipped at the moment, although revealing that the plans to host a big brother style ultimate jungle party have now been dropped, a few names have still managed to leak into the worlds media.

Whilst this piece of news is still in the stages of speculation, the likely signs are there. 1. He appeared in US version of Strictly come Dancing, Dancing with the starts, in 2009, finishing fifth. 2. He has just checked out of The Betty Ford clinic for “emotional and spiritual issues he was dealing with”.

Sounds plausible that his career would need the boost that only spiders, snakes and Ant and Dec could possibly help with.
