X Factor USA starts on US TV network Fox this September, just a few weeks after our British version hits the screens.

However, it has today been reported that ITV2 bosses – who have the rights to air the American series in the UK – may not schedule the new show until early 2012, so that it doesn’t directly compete with the British version.

Some are said to be worried that viewers may abandon the show, because Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole have all left and insiders say executives don’t want to put anything in direct competition with their biggest annual TV event.

“The last thing bosses want is the American version taking attention away from the UK show,” an insider told The Sun.

This will be a blow for UK X Factor fans, who want to watch Simon Cowell in his new role, alongside Nicole Scherzinger, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul. By the time they get to watch the new series, the winner will have already been chosen and the news splashed across newspapers worldwide. The suspense element will be gone.

In contrast, last year’s American Idol season aired on ITV2 just a day after the episodes went out in the states, as a consequence it performed well for the channel.

Producers behind hit ITV2 reality TV show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ are reportedly planning to launch a new version of the series, but this time set in Cornwall.

After millions of viewers tuned in each week to watch the drama surrounding stars such as Amy Childs, Mark Wright and Lauren Goodger – TV bosses want to take the action to the coast of Newquay, where they plan to follow the lives of young wannabe beach bums and bunnies.

However, other cities and locations are still being considered and TOWIE bosses recently revealed that they will also be working with Scousers, explaining that the upcoming first series of ‘The Only Way Is Liverpool’ may be even bigger than the Essex based show.

An insider said: “The producers want it as over the top as possible with as many wannabe WAGs, models and flashy posers as they can get. They think it can be even bigger than ‘The Only Way Is Essex’.”

Meanwhile, ITV2 chiefs have proposed a swanky ‘TOWIE’ spin-off in sunny Marbella, with the Spanish holiday destination already being a firm favourite of the current cast.

A source said: “Producers think a show would work amazingly well in Marbella, which is a popular resort with British rich kids.

“The pilot has featured parts of Marbella and nearby Puerto Banus. With an abundance of nightclubs, yachts and millionaires, a fly-on-the wall series there could go down a treat.”

The Only Way Is Essex cast are reportedly to release a festive single later this year.

Starsof the ITV2 show, including James Argent, Maria Fowler and Mark Wright will be involved in what they hope can become the Christmas number one and have told The Sun that they are trying to decide between crooning an original number, or releasing a cover of Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.

Of course the reality TV stars will face tough competition from the winner of this year’s X Factor – who it has been reported today will be chosen after performing live at Wembley Arena – and when asked if she thought they stand a chance of beating the ITV show to the top spot, Maria laughed:

“Yeah we would – I’m confident of that.”

“It would be all of us! Have a Happy Reem Christmas or something like that. That would be amazing.”

Of course this won’t be TOWIE’s only musical effort. The cast recorded and released ‘Let The Base Kick In Miami Girl’ but replaced all mention of Miami with Essex, earlier this year.

On the ITV2 reality show, we saw controlling Mark leave Lauren out of his social life, pushing her to the side lines so that he could supposedly enhance his ‘business’, but he seemed to soften the blow by proposing and promising to settle down with her.

Days after the finale was shown, Lauren defended her man and their relationship, saying all was rosy in camp TOWIE and that she trusted Mark 100%.

However, it seems her trust may have been somewhat misplaced as on a recent trip to Marbella (obviously without his fiancée), Wright, was pictured up close and personal with Lucy Mecklenburgh, who he had been under strict instructions from Lauren to avoid.

After seeing the pictures in The News Of The World, Goodger apparently packed her bags and left the couples Essex home, declaring the wedding, which Goodger had already declared would not be televised for the ITV2 show (and who can blame her, she can sell the pictures to a magazine this way and double their money!) was well and truly off, but after hours on the phone to Wright, it would seem he has managed to smooth things over yet again.

“Lauren hates how close Mark has got to Lucy, for good reason,” a source said. “But the fact is Mark knows he needs Lauren to make a stack of cash from their engagement and wedding so he has to keep her sweet.

“Lauren has seen the snaps. She is absolutely furious and can’t believe Mark has done this to her again. It makes her look stupid.

“They have been talking for hours with Lauren crying down the phone but he has somehow managed to change her mind.”

Lord Alan Sugar has poured praise on trashy reality TV show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ is “addictive”.

The business guru seems an unlikely fan of the show however while he admitted that watching it is often ‘atrocious’ he did concede that ITV have found a winning formula, that his family at least are completely addicted to.

Alan – who was born in Essex – told heat magazne: “I think it’s a great television programme for ITV2, they’ve hit upon a winner there. It’s atrocious, but it’s addictive.

“My wife and grown up children sit there screaming with laughter. I actually watched it once because my wife said I had to see it, and I can understand why it’s become riveting TV.”

While Lord Sugar admires the reality TV stars on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, he recently blasted former ‘Apprentice’ candidates who claimed they weren’t looking for fame and then went on to launch careers in the public eye.

He told BANG Showbiz: “In the seven years I’ve been doing this I’ve had people who’ve sworn on a stack of bibles they’re here for the job and they hate the cameras. ‘I can’t stand being in front of a camera, I can’t stand being photographed’. And they’re talking a load of b******s because when the thing is over, they’re the first ones on channel number 795 when they offer them a spot on TV.

“They’re there in a shot! And they’re the same people who insist they’re there for the job. When I retire and my contract is up with the BBC I am going to find some of those rushes of them swearing they’re not interested in TV and put them all on YouTube.”

Sam and Billie Faiers have launched a new fashion boutique this week.

The sisters, who are best known for their starring roles on ITV2′s The Only Way Is Essex, opened their shop in Brentwood, Essex and are stocking labels that are worn on the reality TV show including Armand Basi, Maggie + Me, Love Soni, D-Brand, Siren, Delicious Couture & London Rebel Footwear.

For aspiring fashionistas, the siblings didn’t push the boat out with their outfits for the shop launch. You can check out some pictures of the pair here and the editor of Stylejacking.com commented on Sam and Billie’s dresses saying:

Neither of the girls would have blown you away with their outfits. Sam wore a plain pink cotton maxi dress with black peep toe wedges which seems out of sync with the outfit. Billie wore a short white summer dress with black peep toe booties – again a strange shoe dress combination.

The Only Way Is Essex womaniser Mark Wright has reportedly popped the question to his ex-girlfriend Lauren Goodger.

The pair split just before the first series of the ITV2 show and will be planning their wedding on the second, because amazingly, insiders say that the beauty said yes.

A pal of Mark’s told The Daily Star:

“It definitely took a lot of balls for Mark to pop the question but he did.

“Whether they’ll end up actually walking down the aisle is another matter but for now they’re definitely engaged.”

Mark proposed at Essex club Sugar Hut and an onlooker said:

“All of The Only Way Is Essex crew were in Sugar Hut because they were filming.

“Out of the blue Mark got down on one knee. Everyone’s mouths just fell open.”

The Only Way Is Essex - MARK, JESSICA, LAUREN, AMY, KIRK and SAM.

It’s time to raise another glass of Cristal champagne and welcome back the show which brought vajazzling to the masses, The Only Way Is Essex, returning to ITV2, Sunday 20th March, 10pm.

Returning familiar faces go about their totally Essex lives alongside some new colourful characters.

Like series one, this series promises plenty of drama.

Viewers of the show were hooked as they found out what made a typical male Essex lothario tick – it’s not all girls, champagne and holidays. They met sexy Essex girls with a twist – they may have killer Christian Louboutin heels but they also have savvy instincts to match.

The next series of The Only Way Is Essex will continue the journey into the uber-glamorous world of Essex where nail bars, nightclubs and tanning salons, amongst others, will act as backdrops to the action.

The series will once again be filmed close to transmission and every episode will contain the fallout caused by the last episode.

And if you head to Essex for a spray tan don’t be surprised when you find yourself on the live sets of this exciting show because filming will be continuously happening whilst the show is on air.

One of the show’s stars, Mark Wright, comments: “It’s brilliant that viewers really seemed to warm to the show. The fact that it’s been a success is amazing.”

“I am just privileged to be a part of it and very thankful to those people who watched the first series and hope they enjoy the new series.”

Since the first series ended Mark notes how his life has changed: “Since the first series we do get noticed when we’re out in public and the positives definitely outweigh any negatives. I have no regrets at all about being on the show.”

Although Mark and the gang are now experiencing some showbiz moments in their lives, Mark still keeps his feet on the ground. “I definitely still have a normal life, for sure. I’m just enjoying the ride,” he says.

And what can viewers expect from the new series of the show? Mark says: “More entertainment, more fun and hopefully amazing television!”

Looking to the future, what would Mark like to do? “I’d love to be a television presenter,” he concludes.

How does Amy Childs feel that viewers reacted so positively to the show? Amy says: “I am really pleased, I feel really lucky, as you never know if the viewers will like it, but we have been so lucky, and we have such great fans.”

How has Amy’s life been since series one ended? “It’s been surreal really, my life has changed and I still find it odd being recognised,” Amy says. “I’m doing things I never would have dreamed about before. I can’t believe I modelled for Caprice, someone I look up to, and giving out a Comedy Award was amazing.”

When asked if she has had a good reaction from the public since the programme went out, Amy says, “Yes, everyone is so lovely and has lovely things to say about the show.”

Does she get recognised when out and about? “When I’m out shopping with the girls or my mum people ask me for pictures, which I still cannot get used to.” Amy continues, “I love it when girls say they like me, it’s such an honour, and I feel really lucky.”

“When I saw myself for the first time on the television I cringed, but I’m sure most people would, “ says Amy. “Now I’m a bit more used to it, I just laugh at myself!”

The eternally irritating Jedward twins were dropped by ITV2, who revealed that they do not want to air a second series of their fly on the wall documentary series, but before you begin jumping for joy, it has been claimed that BBC are planning to give the boys their own show.

ITV2 had achieved decent ratings for the first series of Jedward: Let Loose, which saw the 18 year old brothers striking out on their own for the first time. However the channel fears that the public have seen enough and plan to move on to new ventures and probably new z list celebrities (we just hope Wagner isn’t next!).

Hearing the news, BBC is said to now be taking an interest in the Grime twins, thinking that they may be the next Ant and Dec and considering them as hosts of a new Saturday morning childrens TV show.

A source told The Sun:

“Yes, its curtains for the ITV2 show. They did one series and obviously everyone hoped they’d do another but it’s not happening.

“I think ITV2 have had enough of them. But their loss could well be the BBC’s gain.

“There’s a lot of interest in them doing a Saturday morning show on CBBC as obviously with their daft nature they appeal to kids.”
