Deadline Coming To ITV2

Ten celebrities face the daunting challenge of producing a weekly glossy magazine under the editorship of Fleet Street legend Janet Street Porter and the big question is: can they hack it?

The rookie reporters taking part in Deadline are Abi Titmuss, Dean Holdsworth, Chris Parker, Dom Joly, Yvette Fielding, Iwan Thomas, Imogen Lloyd Webber, Lisa I’Anson, Ingrid Tarrant and Blair McDonough .

In Deadline the reporters will have to write the stories, forage for gossip, interview their peers and ‘out-pap’ the paparazzi. But will they able to match the standards required by their experienced editor?

The pressure will be immense as not only are they making an entirely new magazine – it will be inserted into UK’s biggest selling women’s weekly Closer. Read more & comment »

Chatting To Holly Willoughby About Greased Lightnin’

Grease Is The WordI’ve just finished chatting with Holly Willoughby about the ITV2 show Greased Lightning. While presenting Dancing On Ice, Holly’s also found the time to attend the auditions for Grease Is The Word.

Holly told me that Greased Lightning will:

dig deeper into the contestants and also have a little bit of fun.

From the auditions, Holly says we’ll see a mix of hopeful stage schoolers as well as talented amateurs and the usual contingent of zany auditionees. “Just when you think that all the [I think we can say eccentric - Ed] people in Britain have appeared on reality TV shows!”

I imagined that there might be tension between serious performers and the zanier auditionees. Holly says that this wasn’t the case at all, and most people were similar in how nervous they were - sitting round the waiting room, listening to songs in their earphones for some last-minute rehearsal.

She says that the main difference was that many of the amateurs went all-out for the occassion. “While the stage school boys and girls were dressed discreetly in character, there were some amateurs that came in full 50’s dress, as Teddy Boys with the hair and everything!”

Unfortunately, we still don’t know much more about those who have been shortlisted, but we’re looking forward to another talent based reality TV show. Grease Is The Word promises to be excellent Saturday night TV! The show kicks off on ITV1 and ITV2 on Saturday 7 April.

Thanks again to Holly Willoughby for taking the time out to talk to Unreality TV!

WAGS Boutique: WAGS Spiral Out Of Control

Thursday AM

Bows brag about winning the NOW magazine fashion shoot. All girls hold a NOW magazine with their winning pictures in it and start chanting “2-1” to Better Half. Better Half are not happy.

The girls latest challenge is revealed by top make up artist Gemma Kidd. They have to choose and sell a range of vintage clothing on their very own market stall in Portobello Road. The stall that makes the most profit wins.

Shop manager are chosen: Better Half= Charlotte Meares and Bows= Julie Phillips. Manager Charlotte decides that Jadene and Elle will do the challenge and manager Julie decides that Nicola and Krystell will do the challenge

The challenge teams head off to choose their vintage stock and talk tactics.

Meanwhile, Better Half and Bows arrive at shops and the managers hold a meeting to lay out a few ground rules before opening time. But things don’t go according to plan. Michaela doesn’t listen and starts writing on Julie’s white board. And Cassie and Heather gang up on Charlotte and run out of the shop. Julie tries to cope and Charlotte chases after Heather and Cassie to tell them to stop being so mean.

40 minutes late both shops finally open, but can the managers keep their staff in check?

Thursday PM

Bows: Julie is feeling the pressure of becoming manager and is getting very little support; Michaela leaves the till unattended with lots of customers waiting and resorts to hiding in a cardboard box….Michaela loses it more and more and poor Julie just can’t control her.

Better Half: Cassie reads out a fan letter she has been sent from prison!

Challenge teams arrive at the WAGs emporium to choose all the stock they need to sell on their stall. Its first come first served and the girls rummage through the stock, try on some of the clothes and perform a fashion show. Nicola steals a bag from Better Half, but gives it back and all is resolved- the girls leave with 86 items each.

Better Half: Charlotte still can’t get Cassie and Heather under control.

Bows: Julie calls an end of day meeting to discuss how they improve the running of their shop. The girls decide to come to work at 9.30am from now on to clean and get their shop ready for the day.

Friday AM

Bows: arrive at 930am and clear up shop.

Better Half: Charlotte holds a stock meeting – they need to buy more….

While relaxed Bows open up, Jadene tells the girls she is pregnant (more to follow.)

Bows: With the high demand for their Great Ormond Street charity hoodies, Maddy has found that people are selling them on ebay for £250- the girls aren’t happy because the money isn’t going to their charity.

Challenge team price up their vintage stock. Krystell has a phobia against vintage clothing.

Friday PM

Cassie has gone missing and Charlotte doesn’t know where she is. But what an unsuspecting Charlotte doesn’t know is that Cassie has cheekily hooked up with Jadene for a three hour leisurely lunch. When the girls finally come back they all have a big argument and Charlotte starts crying. Jermaine Defoe and Marc Bircham both come to the shops to meet Charlotte and Jadene- but there’s no one there to meet Cassie…

Saturday AM- Challenge day

Challenge girls arrive bright and early (more of the early and less of the bright) at Portobello Market to set up their stalls, and while a resourceful Jadene enlists the help of a passing trader, Nicola disappears for a bit while Krystell can only watch on in horror.

Back at the shops it’s a busy day with record queues right around the block for Bows. It’s good news for Better Half too though as they have their very first queue. Cassie reflects on her argument with Charlotte yesterday, and in Bows the stress of being shop manager is starting to build for Julie. Against Julie’s orders, Micheala leaves the shop to get herself some food

At the market Better Half make their first sale, but things are proving slightly more difficult for Bows as no-one seems interested in their stock. With QPR only around the corner Jadene is benefiting from local support but finally Bows make their first sale.

Shops… Julie tries to enforce her shop manager rules on a very unruly Michaela. Meanwhile Better Half are having a good day and a little girl presents the girls with a poem that she’s written especially for the shop.

Challenge… Better half are learning the art of haggling, and Bows are having trouble giving their stock away!!

Shops… Michaela continues playing up to Julie and leaves the shop to have her nails done at Better Half, causing Julie to break down, sobbing to Nicola on the phone.

Challenge… Nicola wants to go home but Krystell is determined to keep going. They slash prices and finally start selling even though the rain keeps pouring

Tempers hit boiling point at Bows when Michaela erupts after finding out that Julie tells Nicola and Krystall to go home rather than going back to the shop, resulting in Julie and Michaela have a massive row in front of a packed shop and Michaela storming off with her suitcase!

ITV2 BRINGS YOU KATIE & PETER: THE NEXT CHAPTER

This new series of Katie and Peter is the next chapter in the couple’s celebrity lives. Two years on from their star studded wedding, series 3 follows Katie and Peter as they embark on their world domination tour. Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter is new and exclusive to ITV2, beginning April 2007, for eight weeks.

This new season begins with what was supposed to be the celebration of the New Year but quickly turns into every parent’s worst nightmare when Katie’s eldest son, Harvey, is badly scalded and rushed to hospital. Cameras follow Katie and Peter in the days that follow the accident and hear for the first time what happened and what the couple and Harvey have been going through.

As Harvey’s condition improves Katie is eager to go back to work and her schedule soon fills up with media events and uncharacteristically opens up on national television when she talks about her post-natal depression. Peter, inspired by her honesty, decides to talk about how difficult it was for both of them to cope because of her illness. Though the couple have obviously had their problems, it’s clear to see their relationship is stronger than ever and their competitive streak is made evident with their constant eagerness to out do one another.

While Katie is back promoting her various projects, Peter flies out to Cyprus to collect their son Junior, who has been hidden away from the press. Peter visits the site where his father is over-seeing the building of their lavish holiday home as Katie, with a new baby on the way, is eager to make their new house in England a home. Comedy Cuts: Episode 8

Episode eight opens with Little Howard, dressed as a burglar and reaking havok with a security guard at a secured building. Count Arthur Strong speaks of the infamous Egyptian pharaoh Toot-the-car-horn and Andrew Maxwell teaches a class of oriental students the finer points of English culture; queueing, drinking and grunting.

Steve Hughes talks of England having to write a Santa wish list to America; “Dear America, England has been very good this year. We have killed everyone you asked us too, so can we please have some more bombs?”

Emotion Factory continue their scholls tour and this week the team fret abut saying the word “nigger” infront of the students. Perhaps the man that has been painted black with shoe polish might be more offensive. Matt Kirshen and Carey Marx discuss their manhood to great lengths and Katy Brand is propositioned by a drunk camel.
