After twelve intensive weeks in competition alongside some of Britain’s top entrepreneurs, 26-year-old recruitment manager Ricky Martin has beaten fifteen other candidates to land the prestigious prize of a business partnership with Lord Sugar, along with an investment of up to £250,000.
In last night’s episode, Ricky battled it out in a four-way final against 23-year-old wine investor Tom Gearing, 29-year-old business development manager Jade Nash and 25-year-old technology entrepreneur Nick Holzherr. With Jade and Nick fired first, Ricky went up against Tom in the last two.
Ricky was declared Lord Sugar’s business partner at the end of a twelve-week process, which saw Ricky divulge the business plan in which he was hoping to secure Lord Sugar’s investment – a recruitment agency specialising in science and technology.

When Stephen Brady narrowly escaped being fired from The Apprentice last week, he vowed to do better and is reportedly desperate to impress this week…
So to that end, when the candidates learned they have to sign up luxury services to offer to wealthy city workers, he decided that a fish pedicure was the way forward.
However, it seems not everyone on Team Sterling is going to agree that it’s a good plan, but nonetheless, we’ll see Stephen and teammate Gabrielle Omar visiting a west London spa where they try out the treatment.
But after a few minutes of having fish chewing on his feet, Stephen said, “it feels horrible”… Read more & comment »

Azhar Siddique became the latest person to be fired by Lord Sugar on the The Apprentice, and although Azhar reckons he “doesn’t hold grudges”, he also thinks Jade Nash should’ve been axed instead of him.
While speaking to The Sun and the PA, and claiming that Lord Sugar “made the wrong decision” in firing him, Azhar added, “I’m disappointed. I definitely thought Jade should have gone,
“I think a lot of the team saw me [as] more of a threat because I know how business works.
“I started my own business and I know how to make money. I’m the most credible person in the process.”
But Azhar added, “I don’t hold grudges, but business is business. And in business, sometimes people have to make the right decisions and Jade made the wrong one, and Lord Sugar as well.”
As fans of the show will know, each team had to purchase wholesale products, then sell them at a profit and go on to reinvest in the most popular stock… Read more & comment »

We are now four episodes into the 2012 episode of The Apprentice and so far, here is who I think is in with a shot of getting Sugar’s cash and who’s not:
Adam Corbally: So far he has shown he’s willing to get stuck in, he’s tried his hand at selling and being at the production side of things. He’s also shrewd in the Boardroom which is one of the most important factors of The Apprentice. I really like Adam- he’s funny and very likeable. But I haven’t seen enough to make me believe he can go all the way. He’ll come close but no cigar.
Verdict: NOT

The Apprentice started with the typically brilliant lines and the same frosty reception from Lord Sugar. But what impressed me about this episode was the lack of mistakes.
We did have Jenna pipe up with the fact that she had a dream, and in that dream a friend told her to call the team ‘Sterling’. Ok Jenna…
Nick the candidate, not Nick Hewer, took control of the boys on the first episode. And what a great job he did. They produced a London themed product aimed at tourists, which equals a central London JACKPOT. They did have some difficulties printing the damn things though and that seems like something I would have been really bad at too. I always shied away from the practical things like that.
