X Factor 2009 finalist Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer will be releasing his debut single Insanity on iTunes tomorrow (27.06.2011) with his band ‘ARCHER’ consisting of his brother Stephen Archer and friend Anthony Reed.

Jamie and the band have been away for 18 months writing and recording a so-far untitled album of original material, which is due out later this year. Their single and album will be released independently.

He performed the single on his own for the first time yesterday (25.06.11) at the Miss Gibraltar beauty pageant and you can watch the video below.

Outgoing X Factor singer Jamie Archer has admitted that he was sexually frustrated whilst on the show. That can’t have been helped by his obvious crush on judge, Charyl Cole.

Archer told the Daily Star: “Without doubt she is the most beautiful woman in the world. I have always had a thing about Cheryl. I think she is absolutely stunning. And let me tell you, she’s even better in real life.”

On the other female judge Dannii Minogue, he joked: “I wouldn’t say no to Dannii either. She is hardly the booby prize!”

Jamie Archer has admitted that it’s not all bad to be kicked off The X Factor, because at least now he’ll be able to have sex!

Under Simon Cowell’s dictatorship, none of the X Factor hopefuls are allowed to have sex whilst on the show and are expected to adhere to an 8.30pm curfew. Jamie has been dating Kandy Rain’s Coco Lloyd and revealed that his first thoughts were of her when he was told he was voted off the show.

Jamie told The Sun said: “I have never gone so long without sex. Six weeks is a long time. I’m a red blooded male. I have needs. I can’t live on bread and water alone.

“I am the horniest man in Britain. I can’t wait to do it. When I was standing there at deadlock, after the initial shock had happened I though ‘wait a minute’.

“Maybe I can go and get some sex now. It’s not easy when every week you have got the most beautiful women in the country standing there.

“They are both so gorgeous. I am a Cheryl guy she is just a beautiful woman. But Dannii looked amazing on Sunday. Her boobs were just wow!

“Dermot said: ‘you’re going home Jamie’ and I was like ‘what?’. Oh right, I’m going off the show yeah’.

“I was looking at Dannii at the time and didn’t realise.”

Speaking about his relationship with Coco, Archer said:

He said: “I think she is amazing. It was great seeing her on Sunday. We really get on well. We call each other and text each other.

“In many ways having her around last night was nice because it was sad going out. She was really good and supportive to me and gave me a hug and it made me feel much better.

“I would like to cook for her. Have a nice quiet night in a bit of candles very romantic. I want to do it as soon as possible.”

Pals of outgoing X Factor singer Jamie Archer have claimed that Simon Cowell purposely sacrificed him on last week’s show.

In an interview with The Mirror a close friend of the singer said: “The whole show is being made a mockery of. Simon was the only judge with all three acts left – he knew he had to lose someone this week and so he offered up Jamie.

“It doesn’t take a genius to see how he did it. He stuck him first on the bill which is the worst place to be. He made sure he dressed him in dark clothing so it all looked very drab with no colour.

“And he gave him a very average Queen song in Radio Ga Ga and left him there on the stage on his own.

“There was no production, no backing singers, no choirs, no pyrotechnics like the other contestants had.”

Last night we were watching Jamie’s best bits as shown on ITV2′s Xtra Factor and the difference between his singing then and on the Queen inspired show last week was astounding. Jamie was capable of so much more than Simon ever gave him and other than when he sang Christina Aguilera’s ‘Hurt’ he was never properly challenged. I think that Jamie’s friends may have a point with the sacrifice argument. Either Simon offered him up on a platter as a way to safeguard Danyl and Olly or he really is that out of touch that he can’t pick current songs for a current singer.

Jamie Archer has admitted that he occasionally felt “demoralised” whilst taking part in The X Factor.

Jamie was voted off the show last night after singing for survival against 16 year old Lloyd Daniels. He told the Press Association that constant battles over his song choices made him realise that his “journey had come to an end”.

He said: “It was really demoralising for me, because it made me feel like ‘Is it me? Am I being difficult? No-one knows what to do with me – maybe there just aren’t any songs?’ but I just got on with it really.”

Jamie denied claims that he planned to quit the show saying:

“I didn’t say I was leaving, I just said ‘Maybe it’s the wrong show for me’. It was after we did Unchained Melody and we tried it, and I had to change my song last minute.

“I said at this point ‘Maybe this show isn’t really the right show for me because we keep having to change my song, which means we quite clearly don’t know what to do with me’.”

In the third terrible result of the series Jamie Archer has been voted off the X Factor.

As Jedward sailed through to the next week, Jamie found himself in the bottom two with young Lloyd Daniels. Before the pair even sang their final song, Louis Walsh made it clear that he would be saving Lloyd because he has more ‘potential and appeal’. In effect it didn’t matter how Jamie sang ‘The Show Must Go On’, because Louis’ vote for Lloyd and Dannii’s subsequent decision to vote for the actual best singer, forced the show to deadlock. The public vote was consulted and Jamie Afro was sent home.

Simon almost predicted the result earlier today. At this point I must agree with Leona Lewis. X Factor is no longer about the singing, it is a mere soap opera.

So we just brought you Jamie and Danyl’s attempt at a live lounge performance. The whole thing seemed incredibly contrived and Danyl wouldn’t get his big cheesy mug away from the camera. We get it Dan, you’re a happy go lucky kind of fellow, who gets along with everybody. Point made!

Now check out Jamie and Olly’s latest vid, which actually seems genuinely fun and not just staged to look that way. You have to love the fact that Olly NEVER knows his words and often just makes up his own.

The paper claims that rockers Bon Jovi were so impressed by Jamie when they heard him sing last week, that they invited him to tour with them as a support act, however, it appears Simon refused to allow Jamie to go, claiming he was contracted to the show.

This latest row follows a bust-up Simon and Jamie allegedly had a couple of weeks ago when Simon insisted that Jamie change his song choice just hours before the show.

The paper quotes a source who’s close to Jamie as saying, “Jamie’s fed up with the competition and how Simon is treating him.

“He was on the verge of quitting at the weekend because he was so angry at being given rubbish songs and some judges’ comments. He hasn’t forgiven Simon for changing his song…

“Their relationship is not great. There were already serious cracks but now it’s more like the Grand Canyon.

“Jon Bon Jovi came up to him after the Sunday show, told him he liked him and offered him a support act role on the tour.

“Jamie was thrilled but his contract means he is tied to X Factor and wouldn’t be able to do it. He was absolutely gutted and it made for a tense week between him and Simon.

“He feels Simon gives him rubbish songs to make people vote for Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson. He calmed down and decided to stay as he realised it’s incredible exposure.”

And it seems that Jamie’s not happy about Simon’s choice of song for him this week; Unchained Melody. Apparently, Jamie hasn’t been able to practice the song due to the virus that’s been sweeping through the contestants.

The paper’s source added, “Not only is he singing a song out of his comfort zone, his voice has been really croaky.”

When watching Jamie Archer belt out ‘Get Your Rocks Off’ on X Factor last night, one would never have guessed that he has been frantic with worry over his ill dad.

Jamie’s Dad William has lived in Guyana since he split with Jamie’s mum in 1980, however he returned to London earlier this year to be treated for kidney failure. Jamie is regularly given time off from X factor duties to visit his ill dad.

A source told The Sunday Mirror:

“William is very poorly but he’s being monitored closely. His kidneys are being supported by medication but because they are not working properly on their own, they are putting pressure on his organs.

“Everyone is hoping for the best and Jamie is praying he will come through this. He’s very close to his dad, and William is incredibly proud of his son.

“The prospect of seeing Jamie singing on TV every week is the best medicine he can get.”

X Factor singer Jamie Archer, has admitted that he lost confidence after performing on the show’s Big Band week.

Simon Cowell changed Jamie’s song just 24 hours before the live show, a decision which reportedly caused trouble between the pair.

“I was thrown by it because it was so last minute. I wasn’t able to perform it as well as I wanted to,” he told vocal coach Yvie Burnett.

“I really am a bit concerned, I’ve lost my confidence a little bit in what we’re going to do, what song we’re going to choose. I just hope that we can get it right this week.

“It’s on my mind and I can’t stop thinking about it. Am I going to actually have to change my song? Until it’s been heard and everyone’s said that’s brilliant and working, right up to rehearsals I’m going to be worrying about whether I might have to change it.”

He added: “I don’t want it to happen again, not in Rock Week.”
