Jazz singer and songwriter Jamie Cullum reckons that Sky1 talent show Must Be The Music was axed because it wasn’t “cruel” enough to the contestants.

Speaking to The Sun’s TV Biz, Jamie said of the show ending, “Not enough people watched it.

“Maybe it wasn’t cruel enough.

“The inherent drama in those shows is the human interest element – when you see people with their screws loose getting pushed around by people who should know better.

“That’s what’s enjoyable about those shows, no matter how much we don’t want to admit it.”

Sky 1 today announced a stellar line up for its new series Must Be The Music. The judging panel will include the current golden boy of the British music scene Dizzee Rascal, multiple award-winning singer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Cullum and chart topping singer/songwriter Sharleen Spiteri.
