The Hollywood reporter has reported that ABC is teaming up with Jamie Oliver and Ryan Seacrest for a new reality TV show in the States.

The series, will eb based on Jamie’s Channel 4 School Dinners campaign, and will see Oliver travel all over America trying to change peoples unhealthy eating habits.

“I couldn’t do what I do in terms of my schedule if I didn’t eat right and exercise right,” said Seacrest. “As a kid I was chubby, and I’m a firm believer that the fuel we put into our body results in a healthy lifestyle.”

He added: “Jamie’s going to come over here, roll up his sleeves and use the resources of each town to help condition living habits to make it a better and healthier place.”

Sources have hinted to The Sun newspaper that Jamie Oliver’s production company are seriously considering buying the chain, revamping its greasy spoon menu and then making a reality TV show about the process.

An insider said: “It’s a tempting proposition for a TV company, as you’re dealing with one of Britain’s best-loved brands.”

The chain has recently hit the headlines after Gordon Ramsay asked them to appear in his next Kitchen Nightmares series, and vowed to turn their future around.

“I think some of the worst problems we’ve had in cooking, not just in terms of health, but in the flavour, have been about being disconnected from where our food comes from,” Oliver told the Manchester Evening News. “It sounds rather worthy, but just put a packet of seeds in the ground, grow it into something, and you will just love it. It connects you with the ground.

“I know I sound like a hippy, but growing stuff has completely changed the way I think about food and cooking.”

A friend told The Daily Star: “Nora is passionate about this campaign. To see nothing change despite all the problems is heartbreaking.

“She became increasingly frustrated at trying to provide a healthy menu with none of the extra money or training for staff promised by the Government. In the end she had had enough and couldn’t continue.”

Oliver said it was “a great shame” she was leaving. He told the Daily Mirror: “Nora has made incredible changes at Kidbrooke and really struggled over the last four years without support.

“I know that after a short break she is hoping to find a way to help and support all the other fantastic dinner ladies who are working hard to make sure the kids are getting a decent hot meal every day.”

Ms Sands confirmed her resignation but said she did not want to discuss it. She added: “I could do with a rest.”
