Janet Jackson performed a bit of a medley on tonight’s X Factor results show.
Janet has been topping charts since signing her first record deal in 1982. She has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and is the only artist in US chart history to boast seven top 5 hits from a single album. She has accumulated five Grammys so far, as well as multiple MTV Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and Soul Train Music Awards.

During this week’s X Factor semi finals, each act will sing a Michael Jackson song, his sister Janet will also be appearing on the show.
Before his death, Simon Cowell had hoped that Michael himself would be able to appear on the show, however Janet will now give a tribute performance and offer her thoughts on the Saturday night performances.

As this years The X Factor reaches its penultimate show, Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga have confirmed that they are to perform live on Sunday 6th December. The X Factor will be showcasing Janet Jackson’s only UK TV performance of 2009, drawn from her recently released greatest hits compilation The Best. Lady Gaga will be performing her latest hit single, Bad Romance, for the first time ever on UK television.

Before his death, ITV bosses were rumoured to have lined up MJ for the show himself, however now they are hoping that his sister will perform a tribute in his honour.
Variety has reported that Janet Jackson is set to get her own MTV reality TV show.
Janet will be a mentor figure for aspiring dancers and singers as she searches for the next big star.
Executive producer David Broome said: “It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher. And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”
