Jeff Brazier wants to replace Olly Murs on The Xtra Factor!

Jeff Brazier made no secret of his desire to land the Xtra Factor presenter role earlier this year.

The Dancing On Ice star spoke on many occasions about the X Factor spinoff show, claiming that he would be perfect for the job. However, now that his pal Olly Murs landed the role instead and will now front the ITV2 show alongside Caroline Flack, he insists that he’s happy for the singer.

Jeff told The Sun’s Buzz magazine:

“Olly’s a mate of mine and I want him to do well.”

Jeff Brazier has admitted that while he was disappointed not to have landed a job fronting this year’s Xtra Factor series, he does not hold a grudge against Olly Murs who landed the role.

The former Dancing On Ice contestant had made no secret of the fact that he was desperate to present the X Factor spinoff show on ITV2, however, last month it was announced that bosses had hired one of their own past competitors, Olly Murs, for the job alongside I’m A Celebrity Get me Out of Here Now presenter Caroline Flack.

Jeff Brazier takes his sons to Jade Goody’s grave for Mother’s Day

Jeff Brazier reportedly took his two young sons to Jade Goody’s grave today for Mother’s Day.

The reality TV star lost her battle to cervical cancer exactly two years ago and her sons, Bobby, seven, and six-year-old Freddy will bring flowers to the cemetary with their dad.

Talking of his plans for the poignant day, Jeff said: “I’m going to watch Bobby play football on Sunday morning and we’re going to go out for something to eat at a lovely place called Matching Green, it’s my favourite little village in Essex.

Laura Hamilton has claimed that she wouldn’t mind Jeff Brazier landing the Xtra Factor host role over her.

Laura is preparing to compete in tonight’s Dancing On Ice final and recently quit her job on children’s TV channel Nickelodeon, to concentrate landing some higher profile presenting jobs. Earlier this week she admitted that she would love to front ITV2′s X Factor spinoff show Xtra Factor, however her former teammate Jeff Brazier is also actively pursuing the job and speaking to The News Of The World, Hamilton said she wouldn’t be upset if he got it.

Jeff Brazier has implied that Jason Gardiner’s ‘Mr Nasty’ routine is all an act to ensure that he keeps his job on Dancing On Ice.

The TV presenter, who was eliminated from the ITV show last Sunday, had been on the receiving end of some of Gardiner’s viscous banter on numerous occasions. However, he said that backstage the dance expert is actually a really ‘nice guy.’

Jeff Brazier has claimed that he may use some of the moves he learned on Dancing On Ice when out clubbing.

The TV presenter was speaking to Digital Spy about how he will keep practising his moves saying:

“I can’t imagine whether I’d be able to lift someone else.

Would it be possible? Would it be a disaster? I’ll probably be trying in nightclubs!”

Jeff Brazier has admitted that he wishes he hadn’t been eliminated from ‘Dancing On Ice’, as he would have found the new twist “exciting”.

The dad of two was voted off the show last weekend after he ended up in the bottom two with frontrunner Sam Attwater and admits he is disappointed not to have a place in the semi-final because he would have loved the chance to choreograph his own solo routine.

He said: “The contestants are making up their own routines this week in a twist that would have been right up my alley. We all chose a song last week that we would like to skate to on the tour, except really the producers were lining up a track for the semi-finals for us to choreograph our own move.

Jeff Brazier has admitted that while he is happy he made it to the top five on ‘Dancing On Ice,’ he is disappointed that he didn’t get offered a full time spot on the show’s nationwide tour.

The 31-year-old TV presenter – who was eliminated from the ITV1 show on Sunday night (13.03.11) – admitted that it is a small consolation that he will get to cover for Vanilla Ice at a handful of shows.

He said: “At the beginning I thought I had a chance of being top five; that’s what I was aiming for. I was aiming for the tour but sadly I didn’t get a chance to be in it. Although, now I actually have a small part in it by doing a few dates in Newcastle and Birmingham.

The TV presenter was eliminated from the ITV show on Sunday night, after ending up in the bottom two with former frontrunner Sam Attwater and admitted that the former Olympic legends are treated like royalty backstage on the ice skating series.

Jeff Brazier has admitted that he knew his time was up, when he found out he was competing against Sam Attwater in last night’s Dancing On Ice skate off.

The TV presenter performed his prop based routine almost perfectly the second time round, but just couldn’t compete with Attwater’s skill and speed across the ice and the judging panel – Emma Bunton, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins – unanimously decided to send him home.
