Jennifer Lopez is reportedly planning to stage a large concert in India next month, before the American Idol live shows kick off in The States.

The singer, actress and Idol judge has joined forces with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra according to the Mumbai Mirror and will spend only one day in the country.

One insider told the publication:

“She will be here on March 6 and stay at a suburban five-star. Due to her rehearsals, they will ensure her hotel is not too far away from the venue.”

“She will perform some of her biggest hits, including her latest album Love? She will fly out of the country the next day.”

Jennifer was back on US TV screens last night, in the latest of the American Idol audition shows.

She was blown away by some of the talent that appeared before them and one lady who impressed all three judges with her stunning vocal skills was Jessica Phillips. The 26 year old singer revealed that she cares full time for her boyfriend, after he suffered a stroke and we’re not normally one for sob stories, but this couple were just so sweet and she is so naturally talented that she totally blew us away.

Jennifer Lopez will soon be adding another feather to her cap and will be doing a bit of presenting next month.

The American Idol judge has been named as one of the presenters for this year’s Oscars ceremony.

The news was confirmed yesterday by producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer, who revealed that the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker would have a role in the upcoming 84th Academy Awards ceremony.

They previously revealed that the cast of “Bridesmaids” would also be presenters last week.

Lopez of course is as well known for her acting and movie career, as well as her music and judging one. She has previously starred in blockbusters such as ‘Maid in Manhattan,’ ‘The Back-Up Plan’ and ‘Monster-in-Law.’ Her next movie will be ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting.’

The Oscars will air on Sunday, February 26 on ABC.

It’s the best news we’ve heard since Kerry Katona was eliminated from Dancing On Ice, Jennifer Lopez has signed a new contract for next year’s American Idol series.

The newly separated star – who announced her split from husband of seven years Marc Anthony last month – had previously admitted that she was unsure if she could commit enough time to the reality TV show and may decide to tour or take on more acting roles instead. However, this evening it has been confirmed that the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker will be back.

J-Lo will return to her seat between Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler and long serving panel member Randy Jackson, exectuive producer Nigel Lythgoe claimed today.

Speaking on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, he said: “I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of ‘American Idol’ are back for the next season.”

Ryan then went on to confirm that the nationwide auditions will begin within the next few weeks. Taking to Twitter, he told his followers:

“Auditions with all three start in a couple wks.(sic)”

When asked when the show will return to American TV screens, he added:

“January. this show is a year long process!(sic)”#

We can only imagine what sort of deal J-Lo has agreed to. It was previously claimed that the mum of two was holding out to receive $20 million for the series.

Jennifer Lopez has given her first interview after her split from husband Marc Anthony.

The American Idol judge announced their impending divorce last month and confessed that leaving the Latin singer was the ‘hardest decision’ she’s ever made. However J-Lo does still ‘believe in love’ and admitted that her marriage problems mostly resulted out of problems with her work/life balance.

She said: “This was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to face. I really wanted this family to work. That was my biggest dream, and I worked hard at it. We both did. Sometimes it doesn’t work — and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love…It’s still my biggest dream.”

Speaking about the cause of their breakup, the 42-year-old singer and actress – who had been married for seven years – told America’s Vanity Fair magazine that the change brought about by having children as well as her new increasingly busy schedule created conflict. She added:

“It’s getting increasingly harder. When we were first married, most of the time, and even before the babies were born, we were able to go everywhere together. I wasn’t working as much. So we kind of had that. I went on tour with him a few times in the first few years of our marriage, and we did a film together. It’s hard, and we’re figuring it out. It’s tough.

“And everything is ramping up in a way. Like I said, we had the first three years of our marriage just for us. I wasn’t working, it was mainly about him. Then we got pregnant. Then it became about the kids. And then I started working again.”

It was an unlikely result, however it has today been revealed that legendary actress Dame Helen Mirren has been voted the Body of the Year, beating stars such as Pippa Middleton to the accolade.

The 66 year old ‘Calendar Girls’ actress received 17.65% of votes in the poll, placing her just ahead of Britain and Ireland’s Top Model judge Elle Macpherson at 10%, model Kelly Brook who finished in third place, former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole in fourth and American Idol star Jennifer Lopez who came in fifth place.

Royal bridesmaid Pippa Middleton made it to eighth place but there was no place for her sister Kate.

Researchers polled 2,000 people for the survey, which was commissioned by the LA Fitness gym chain.

Its marketing director, Tony Orme, said: “Helen Mirren’s victory in our Best Body poll illustrates how, when it comes to body maintenance and well-being, age really is nothing but a number.

“It’s great to see the public celebrating bodies of all shapes and sizes, and proving that you really can look fabulous over 40 and 50.

“LA Fitness’ summer fitness campaign is all about championing people to get the body they desire and to be happy in their own skin, and the results prove it’s never too late to start getting in shape.”

In the male version of the same poll, David Beckham topped the results, with X Factor judge Simon Cowell trailing behind in tenth place.

Jennifer Lopez has been procrastinating over her American Idol future and many have speculated that she is holding out for a payrise before she agrees to another season.

Insiders today have claimed that executives are considering laying out a deal which would see her walking away with £21 million, if she takes up her seat alongside Steve Tyler and Randy Jackson on the hit FOX talent show for 2012.

The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker is believed to be more likely to accept the offer, after splitting from her husband of seven years Marc Anthony, as he was reportedly against her return, wanting the singer and actress to spend more time with him and their three year old twins.

Speaking about J-Lo’s possible return, Cécile Frot-Coutaz, chief executive officer at FremantleMedia North America, which produces the series, cryptically said:

“We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”

The Sun today reports that 42-year-old singer – who celebrated her birthday last weekend – commanded £8 million for the 2011 season of Idol, but sources claim she will only make her comeback if she receives the £21 million-a-year former judge Simon Cowell was earning on the Fox show.

It has been reported that if J-Lo doesn’t commit to the new series soon, bosses will bring in either Shakira or Shania Twain as her replacements.

So they aren’t out of options yet!

It was a weird exchange of birthday messages, but last night, American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez tweeted a special celebratory message to Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall.

The singer and actress has spent the last three days celebrating turning 42 in Miami – enjoying a posh dinner, a boat cruise and a night on the tiles of an exclusive club – while the Scottish singer celebrated his 25th birthday in a rather more low key manner we would assume.

While spending time on Twitter last night, Jai discovered that he shares a birth date with both J-Lo and Jay McGuiness from The Wanted.

He tweeted both stars informing them of the fact and received a retweet from Jennifer saying:

Birthday buddy! RT @Jai_McDowall@JLo I’m 25 today! Hope you have a great birthday too x x

McDowall later tweeted his manager saying:

just got an RT from JLO I was gonna sleep lol now I’m slightly hyper aha

Jen was pictured with many of her friends and family aboard the 122-foot Oceanfast super yacht Never Say Never yesterday, looking relaxed and not at all like a woman who just announced her marriage breakdown.

Less than two weeks ago the mum of two confirmed that she and husband of seven years Marc Anthony were going their separate ways, though it was later claimed that she decided to leave him as early as last Christmas.

Jennifer Lopez seemed to be well and truly over her recent marriage breakup, when she stepped out for her 42nd birthday party last weekend.

The American Idol judge was reportedly “very happy” as she celebrated with family and friends at the Scarpetta restaurant inside in Fontainebleau hotel in Miami on Saturday and onlookers say you would never have guessed that she will be shortly heading for the divorce courts.

A source told People: “Jennifer looked radiant in a purple and silver evening dress. And when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing.

“She was very happy. The whole group had a blast, staying for hours. They closed down the restaurant.”

So delighted with her new life was J-Lo that she actually celebrated her birthday twice, once on Saturday and before that she spent Friday evening in the Wine Cellar of the Forge on Miami Beach, where she and some of her girly friends partied the night away.

A source added: “Jennifer and her group arrived at around 9pm and went directly to the private wine cellar for a pre-birthday dinner. It was very secluded and beautiful among the bottles with bold vibrant labels.

“The meal was served on a long rectangle mirrored table with cloud-like chandeliers hanging above. She was chatty and charming

“Jennifer absolutely loved it. When the waiters brought the souffle , they sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her while pouring everyone a crystal goblet of champagne.”

It has been claimed that J-Lo first decided to leave Marc Anthony last Christmas but after he begged her to stay, she agreed to give their relationship one last try. It seems like she’s glad to be out now!

Friends close to Jennifer Lopez have claimed that her marriage split was a long time coming.

Insiders say that the American Idol judge – who announced her separation from husband of seven years Marc Anthony last Friday – actually wanted to leave the Latin singer last Christmas, but was persuaded to stay and give the relationship one last try.

Pals of the couple say they weren’t shocked at all by the breakup when it was confirmed and one told The Daily Star:

“Jen told him she wanted out of the marriage late last year but he begged her to stay.”

“She stayed but she was miserable until finally she couldn’t take it any more.”

Another added:

“She fell out of love with him early last year. She was miserable in the marriage and finally, late last year, she wanted out.”

J-Lo’s friends may have seen the split coming, but Simon Cowell did not. He told Extra that the couple always seemed very happy together in his presence.

Mariah Carey was looking hot when she hit New York last night and as she was spotted enjoying a girly night out, speculation began to grow about her reported role on the X Factor USA panel.

Simon Cowell recently revealed that he is trying to find a role for Mariah Carey on his new TV talent series.

The 41 year old diva gave birth to baby twins in April of this year and so couldn’t join the panel for the auditions stages in early 2011, however the music mogul has admitted that he wants her on the show in some form or another and her idea is to become the ultimate ‘judge of judges.’

Speaking a few months ago Simon revealed:

‘I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows. I met her recently and she was on great form.’

‘And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with.’

Simon had previously tried to land Jennifer Lopez for the show, but was thwarted when she accepted a role on American Idol instead.

It has been revealed that the new American version of The X Factor is the most expensive reality TV show ever made and so, keen to recoup his expenses, insiders report that Cowell is currently wooing Carey, desperate for her to bring her star power to the format.

If she does accept the role, she’ll be joining former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, record executive L.A. Reid and former Idol judge paula Abdul.

We can’t imagine that Paula will want another beautiful woman competing for Simon’s attention…..so we’ll be watching out for drama and lots of bitchiness if the two women do end up working together!
