Jermaine and LaToya Jackson Launch Pop Dynasty

Jermaine Jackson - Celebrity Big BrotherJermaine and LaToya Jackson are rumoured to be taking part, as judges, on a new reality TV show to find the new pop family.

The pair have joined with American TV network, CBS, to produce the new show titled ‘Pop Dynasty’, which will be the first to seek actual families who perform together.

No Shocks As Shilpa Wins, Jermaine Takes Second Place

A few boos from the Big Brother eviction night audience wasn’t going to change the foregone conclusion that Shilpa Shetty was going to win this show. Anyway, the remainder of this post will be dedicated to this man:

Jermaine Jackson - Celebrity Big Brother

Jermaine took the runner-up position, largely on a strategy of saying and doing nothing. Oh, except he broke up the fight between Shilpa and Jade. Thankfully, we were spared that situation being rammed down our throats yet again, and Davina showed Jermaine to be a peaceful, calming influence on the house and also quite a sage character.

Jermaine let it slip that he’s in London working on a musical about The Jacksons which will be out later this year. I wonder has he singlehandedly resurrected interest in The Jacksons that doesn’t hinge on scandals surrounding his brother.

Of all things, Jermaine managed to pull off being a housemate without appearing desperate for fame or for post-BB stardom. I think as a result, he’ll walk away with a lot more respect than most of our homegrown participants. As will Dirk benedict.

Celebrity Big Brother: Housemates Nominate Jermaine Jackson To Speak To Jade Goody

Jermaine Jackson - Celebrity Big BrotherThe housemates have huddled, whispered and plotted. Tonight they finally reached the decision that one of them needs to approach Jade, and ask her to pull her mum Jackiey into line.

They have also nominated Jermaine Jackson for the task. Jermaine unwittingly recommended himself for the task just a few minutes before, when he sang Jades praises saying:

“Jade is the opposite of her mum, she’s so sweet,”

Good luck Jermaine. Jade is aware of how irritating her mother is, but you know what they say, blood is thicker than water!

Celebrity Big Brother 2007: Jade Goody, Interrogater Extrodinaire!

Did you hear Jade Goody needs to make a career move. She is wasted on silly TV shows, she would make a fantastic professional interrogater!

Jade began the day by asking Jermaine Jackson some questions about his children, then a few hours later she moved in for the kill.

Jade decided she wanted to know more about the secret life of the King Of Pop, Michale Jackson, and she decided that no area would be off limits.

She began by asking Jermaine for more details on Michaels recent trial and whether or not his whole family had stood by him, she then asked whether or not Michael was bankrupt. Next she broached the subject of race with Jermaine, wondering why if he and his brothers are so dark, why is Michael so light? Then she topped it all off by asking Jermaine if Michael Jackson is addicted to plastic surgery.

Jermaine comes across as quite a private man, but he couldn’t avoid Jades quick fire questions and we found out more about his family and famous brother in the few minutes Jade had with him, than we have over the last 4 days!

Jade really has missed her calling!

Celebrity Big Brother: The Impossible Task Of Being A Relative Of Jade Goody!

Shilpa Shetty - Celebrity Big BrotherDidn’t I say that the three people staying in the Big Brother house would regret their decision…well didn’t I?

Not only are they not allowed to lift a finger, but now they are all automatically up for eviction this Wednesday night!

Ken Russell, Shilpa Shetty and Jermaine Jackson are going to have be to fed, be washed and be taken to the toilet by the other housemates (who will include Donny Tourette!). They are going to have to be related to Jade Goody for the next 5 days and to top it all they will be up for eviction….what did the poor people do to deserve that?

Celebrity Big Brother 2007: Just Call Me Dickie

Donny Tourette: Loud mouthed prat or frightened little boy hiding behind his stage persona?

I know that Mr Tourette’s whole point of being is being debated on the forum, but I’m hoping its all an act. If he can just tone it all down a bit, he could end up being very entertaining.. and its worth hearing his foul mouthed outbursts just to see the look on Danielle Lloyd’s face.

He’s already rubbing his fellow contestants up the wrong way - I don’t care what they say in the Diary Room (its not like the real Big Brother - at this point they’re still very aware that they have to project and protect their public personas) Jermaine Jackson MUST be horrified at Donny’s antics - gobbing in the hot tub, feet on the counters, stubbing out his fags wherever he wants too (including on previously mentioned food preparation areas), weeing in the shower. Leo wasn’t overly impressed at Donny’s nakedness in bed. Danielle isn’t impressed full stop. Jo O’Meara declaring she’d sleep on the floor rather than share a bed with ’someone like that’. Ken Russell having his hair ruffled on a permanent basis.

Donny could go one of two ways. He could irritate the life out of the viewing public - and be voted out just after the vacuous Danielle.. or find his own little niche in the GBP’s heart, and be in there til the end.

But who is impressing me so far in the house? You can see all my initial feelings about them at Dreamy’s Blog.. but here’s a brief run down. Jo seems down to earth… Dirk ‘Face’ Benedict (Donny used the wrong f word there, I think) is my early winner (Ok, ok, so thats a hang over from all those pre-pubescent fantasies I used to have about him, when he was in Battlestar Galactica and the A-Team)… Leo Sayer and Ian Watkins need to chill and stop trying so hard… Cleo is marvellous - my other half shared Dirk’s sentiments about it being worth jumping in the hot tub fully clothed to have her look after him, Ken may be too quirky to come across well on the telly, which will be a shame. The rest need a little time to find their niche and settle into things.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how they get on when the initial ‘euphoria’ wears off :)

Celebrity Big Brother 2007: Meet The Celebrities!

Well it’s started! Celebrity Big Brother is now underway and for once the tabloids seemed to be pretty spot on in their predictions this year.

The Celebrity Big Brother housemates of 2007 are as follows (click on their names to read their full profiles and biographies!):

Jermaine Jackson: Jermaine made a big deal of the fact that he is hyper clean, hyper germ conscious and doesn’t know if he can survive without his servants and cook…A bit of the David Gest in him then!

Danielle Lloyd
: Danielle was crowned Miss Great Britain earlier this year, only to be stripped of her crown and title when it emerged that she was dating one of the contests judges Teddy Sheringham.

Ken Russell: A famous British Film Director, Ken has received 3 BAFTA’s for his work and directed films such as ‘Tommy’ and ‘Women In Love’ in his heyday! Ken emerged from his car singing a rather out of tune version of ‘Singin In The Rain’. He had to be helped both up and down the staircases by Davina, at one point I wondered if he would make it as far as the living room. I have heard some cruel people comment (though it definitely wasn’t me!) that Ken could be the first person to die on Big Brother. But that would be a step too far wouldn’t it!

Jo O’Meara: Jo is best known for her time as lead singer of pop group S Club 7. She also appeared last year on BBC’s Just The Two Of Us as the professional half of a singing duo. Jo declared that she was absolutely terrified of entering the house and didn’t want to meet anyone “horrible”.

Leo Sayer: Singing legend who produced hits like ‘When I Need You’. Leo thinks he will be especially good at cheering up the room in the Big Brother house.

Shilpa Shetty
: Shilpa is a huge Indian, Bollywood actress and can’t travel anywhere in India without a huge entourage. She is recognised everywhere she goes and says that it would scare her if no one recognised her. She walked into the BB house and guess what….no one had a clue who she was!

Carole Malone
: Carole is a columnist for The Mirror and is more used to slagging off people in reality TV shows than taking part in one. Carole says that she doesn’t approve of people who are famous just for being on reality shows….or of WAGS!

Donny Tourette: Donny is the lead singer from British rock band Tower Of London, though he is probably more famous for his fling with Peaches Geldof. Donny entered the house tonight to a chorus of boos, to which he replied “F**K OFF!”. When Davina tried to steer him into the house, he yanked himself away from her, leaving her a bit unsteady, at which point the security men stepped in and hurried him along. Davina revealed that he smelt like a brewery…..I hope he is first to be evicted.

Ian Watkins (AKA H): Ian is best known as H from 90s pop band Steps. He wanted to go on Celebrity Big Brother as he is aware that everyones perception of him is “that blonde knob from Steps” and he wants to show the public that he has grown up and is no longer blonde! He is most dreading the crotch shots in the house and wants to make some wicked new friends.

Cleo Rocos: Best known for her role in Kenny Everett’s BBC series and for her close friendship with Kenny. Cleo admits that she is always nauseatingly happy and that she likes her men “old, ill and loaded!”

Dirk Benedict: Most famous for his roles in Battlestar Galactica and as Face in the 80s series The A Team. Dirk commented “Women thre themselves at me and I got very adept at catching, but I’m not very good at keeping!” Dirk revealed that he would like to meet a special lady in the house, but not one young enough to be his daughter!

Celebrity Big Brother 2007: Profile Of Jermaine Jackson

Early life and career

Jermaine Jackson - Celebrity Big BrotherBorn to parents Joseph and Katherine Jackson in Gary, Indiana, Jermaine became the original lead singer of an earlier incarnation of the Jackson 5 until 1967 when younger brother Michael assisted lead vocals but would co-lead with Michael for many years. Jermaine and his brothers signed with Motown Records in 1969. As the co-lead singer of The Jackson 5 after his brother Michael, Jermaine sang notable parts of “I Want You Back”, “I’ll Be There”, “I Am Love”, “Dancing Machine”, and many other Jackson 5 songs. Like Michael, Jermaine also began a solo career concurrent to his tenure in The Jackson 5, and had a hit with the 1972 Shep and the Limelites cover “Daddy’s Home”.

Solo Career

When The Jackson 5 left Motown, Jermaine left the group and stayed at Motown, as he was married to Hazel Gordy, the daughter of Motown owner Berry Gordy. Jackson was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his 1979 album Let’s Get Serious. He had several Hot 100 Top 20 hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including “Daddy’s Home” (#9), “That’s How Love Goes”, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, “Isn’t She Lovely”, “Let’s Get Serious” (written and produced by Stevie Wonder) (#9), “Let Me Tickle Your Fancy” (featuring Devo on backing vocals) (#18), “Dynamite” (#15), “Do What You Do” (#13) and “I Think It’s Love” (#16). A duet with his brother Michael, “Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’”, hit #1 on the dance chart in 1984. In 1985, his duet with Pia Zadora, “When The Rain Begins To Fall”, topped several singles charts in Europe. His final chart success, 1989’s “Don’t Take It Personal”, hit #1 on the Billboard R&B Singles Chart. In 1991 he released “World to badd”. In that song he criticized his brother Michael, mainly his skin color change. Jackson can play the electric guitar, various types of bass guitars, and is known for his dancing abilities on stage. In 2006 Jermaine announced he will have an album coming out in 2007 under family record label Jesco Records called I’m Back.

Personal life

Jermaine Jackson has been married three times and has eight children. He first married Hazel Gordy in 1973 while still in the Jackson 5. Her father, Berry Gordy, was their current manager at the time at Motown Records. When brothers changed label due to creativity reasons, Jermaine left the Jackson 5 and produced many solo records under his father-in-law’s label. Hazel and Jermaine had their first child Jermaine Jr. (often called Jay) in 1977. Their daughter Autumn Jackson was born in 1978.

In 1985 Jermaine had a daughter called Dawn. However, her mother was not Hazel. The couple did, however, remain together until son Jeremy Jackson was born in 1986 to a woman named Margaret Maldonado. Hazel and Jermaine divorced in 1987 after fourteen years of marriage as Jermaine expected a second child to Margaret. Jaimy Jackson was born later that same year to Hazel. Jermaine began his relationship with Margaret Maldonado in 1988. A year later in 1989 Jermaine and Margaret had son Jourdyn Jackson. The couple lived together in the Jackson family home in California (owned by brother Michael) until 1994 when they separated, having never married.

A year after separating from Margaret Maldonado, Jermaine Jackson married Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. Alejandra had previously left and divorced brother Randy Jackson the year before - after fourteen months of marriage. They shared daughter Genevieve and twins Randy Jr and Donte. However, after the divorce, Alejandra was granted custody and the children lived with their mother and step father (Uncle Jermaine) in the same Jackson house in California. In 1996 Jermaine and Alejandra had a child of their own together - Jaffar Jackson. They had a son together in 2000 named Jermajesty before their divorce in 2004. This marriage of Randy’s ex-wife was rumoured to have caused a rift between the brothers. They have now, however, sorted it out as seen at brother Michael’s trial.

Jermaine Jackson married his third wife Haleema Rasheed in 2004 after he permanently shifted to the Middle East. Though he resides in several estates, he doesn’t live in America but merely visits his children who live with their mothers. They often visit the Jackson Family compound in the Los Angeles district of Encino. Haleema and Jermaine are still married but they share no children.

Later life

Jermaine converted to Islam after a visit to Bahrain in the 1980s. In 1992, he, Margaret, and Suzanne de Passe produced The Jacksons: An American Dream, an award-winning and highly-rated miniseries about the history of The Jackson 5. Jermaine, Jr. portrayed his father as a young teenager in the miniseries.

Jermaine Jackson, who currently lives in Dubai and often resides in Bahrain, announced plans in 2006 to build an entertainment complex in Yerevan, Armenia that will see artists perform for local audiences. Jackson, currently visiting the area, has told how he also plans to build a hotel, restaurant and television company as part of the venture. He has also expressed hopes of brother Michael Jackson attending the opening. During Michael’s 2005 child abuse trial, Jermaine was an avid supporter of his brother. He came to Michael’s defence several times on the Larry King show and appeared with Michael in court on numerous occasions.
