The Voice UK: Jessica Hammond favourite to win – tweeted by Eamon Holmes & Frankie Cocozza!

Jessica Hammond is currently the bookies favourite to win The Voice later this year.

The Northern Irish teenager has wowed the show coaches and viewers alike – much like Janet Devlin did last year on The X Factor – and after she impressed fans with an acoustic version of Price Tag on Saturday night’s show, she was added to Jessie J’s group and quickly became the favourite to win, with odds of 7/1.

However, flame haired singer J.Marie Cooper is hot on her heels at 12/1, after she stunned the coaches with her version of ‘Mamma Knows Best’ and signed to Will.i.am’s team.

Jessica Hammond has admitted that she chose to perform a Jessie J song for her The Voice audition and then chose the artist as her mentor, because she thinks that they have a lot in common.

The 17 year old Belfast performer is a keen songwriter and though she sang ‘Price Tag’ when she tried out for the BBC show, she claimed that loves to write her own music with important messages and that’s what brings her real ‘joy.’

Jessie J has admitted that she will be a tough coach on The Voice this year.

Over the last year the ‘Price Tag’ hitmaker has seen the downside of fame and the negative impact of a career lived out in the public eye and wants to ready her contestants for the consequences of shooting into the spotlight.

On Saturday night’s first episode of the BBC show, Jessie was seen landing talented singers Jessica Hammond, Ben Kelly & Toni Warne for her group, over the next few weeks we will meet her other seven acts.

The Voice UK: Jessie J won’t be punishing Jessica Hammond, Ben Kelly, Toni Warne and explains why she didn’t join X Factor

Jessie J has admitted that while he coaching style will be hands on for The Voice, she won’t be keeping punishing and laying down the law for her contestants on the BBC show.

The ‘Domino’ hitmaker was seen on Saturday’s first show and after only one episode, has already landed talented performers Jessica Hammond, Ben Kelly and Toni Warne for her team.

It is her job to help them develop their talents and skills, so they are in the best position to compete if they reach the live show stages, but Jess won’t be doing that by constantly cracking the whip.

The Voice UK: X Factor judges called Jessica Hammond ‘average’

Jessica Hammond may have wowed the coaches on The Voice last night, however The X Factor team weren’t quite so impressed by the young singer when they heard her perform.

The 17 year old Belfast performer wowed with Jessie J’s Price Tag on the launch of The Voice last night and had all four judges fighting to land her for their their team. In the end she opted to work with Jessie, saying she was the most ‘unique’ performer on the panel.

Jessica Hammond has been much hyped over the last week and we couldn’t wait to see her full audition on The Voice this evening.

We already knew that the 17 Schoolgirl from Belfast had impressed at least Will.i.am and Jessie J and on the new BBC show tonight, the talented teen admitted that as well as singing, she also enjoys writing her own songs and confessed that some of her lyrics centre around her experience of getting picked on at school.

She said:

“In my bedroom, I’m a superstar, and people are listening to me and I just imagine that the raindrops on the window are them clapping for me.”

The Voice UK Spoilers: Jessica Hammond admits ‘Jessie J has something special’ (VIDEO)

Jessica Hammond will be featured on The Voice when it kicks off on BBC One tomorrow night and she has admitted that she was so grateful to have been allowed to perform for four such major stars.

The Northern Irish teenager tried out for the new TV talent series in London earlier this year and we recently revealed that she wowed the judges with her feisty rendition of Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag.’

The former finalists on Disney’s Camp Rock competition played the guitar as she sang and in the video below, both Will.i.am and Jessie can be seen hitting their buzzers and spinning round, in the hope to land the talented teen for their team.

The Voice judges proved that they have the skills to critique fellow singers on the new BBC talent show, by taking to the stage themselves and proving their talent.

While auditioning hopefuls in London earlier this year, Tom Jones, Will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue amazed the audience, by forming a supergroup and performing the hit Black Eyed Peas song ‘I Gotta Feeling’ for the enthusiastic crowd.
