Dancing On Ice runner up, Jessica Taylor has admitted that she was devastated when she finished in third place on Sunday night, meaning she wouldn’t get to perform her Bolero routine.

Taylor told The Sun: “I really wanted to do Bolero. We’d had to choreograph it ourselves and had been working on it all week to get it perfect.

“It was heartbreaking to be stood in our outfits ready to go after preparing a routine we loved.”

She added: “I’m not a defeatist person – no matter how much he was the favourite, I wasn’t about to roll over and say: ‘Ray’s won it.’

“When the two of them were stood there waiting to hear who had won I had my doubts and thought maybe Donal would snatch it from Ray. But I was pleased Ray got it.”

Not really a shock result but former Brookside star, Ray Quinn, has won Dancing On Ice 2009.

Ray was joined in tonight’s final by Jessica Taylor and Donal MacIntyre. Jessica was first to be voted out, visibly upset at not being able to skate her Bolero routine.

Donal and Ray then went head to head and though Ray was technically perfect and superior, I personally thought Donal’s routine had more soul.

I bet when they were about to announce the results Ray’s X Factor experience flashed before his eyes. It wasn’t that long ago after all, when he had the winners title of that show snatched away by Leona Lewis.

The three remaining contestants on ITV’s Dancing On Ice have had a rough week as they practice for the show’s final this Sunday night.

The Sun reports that Ray Quinn fainted whilst practising his wire routine and needed oxygen before he could continue. “He was in a bad way on the high wire as he suffers from motion sickness,” a source told the paper.

Jessica Taylor ended up in floods of tears as she had difficulties grasping her version of Torville and Dean’s Bolero. Maybe she’ll get lucky and be the first contestant voted off on Sunday night, meaning she wouldn’t have to perform the routine.

To top it all off Donal McIntyre has sustained even more brusing after a lift went wrong with his partner Florentine Houdiniere.

“Everyone was thinking ‘is this jinxed’?” an ITV insider said, “So little was going right.”

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has insisted that Jessica Taylor may just snatch the Dancing On Ice title this Sunday night.

Bookies are touting Ray Quinn as a cert to win the series, however Jason thinks that the high wire routine may help Jessica gain much needed points.

Jason told The Sun said: “Women tend to look better in the air than men.

“Though I’m sure Ray will be amazing, Jess could beat him on the night.”

He mentioned last years final as an example of what can go wrong on the night. On last years show Chris Fountain had been expected to win from day one but on the night lost out to former Hear’say singer Suzanne Shaw.

Jason said: “Chris was the clear winner — but on the night, Suzanne was better.

“It is not always a foregone conclusion.”

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has claimed that Jessica Taylor is too boring to win this years Dancing On Ice series.

Jessica may be the top scoring girl on the show but Jason claims that she hasn’t got enough charisma to win over the public or the judges.

Jason told The Sun: “She can’t rely on the judges to get her through. If she made a mistake in a skate-off we’d boot her out.

“Jess is quiet and shy — and she’s not endearing herself to the public. There has to be an edge. People have GOT to like you. It’s a popularity competition as much as anything and it’s the public you need to win over.”

The Dancing On Ice girls are going to spice things up on tomorrow night’s show with sexy costumes and raunchy routines. I bet the male viewership figures go through the roof.

Jess is wearing a silver crystal encrusted catsuit, Roxy is wearing a costume similar to Pamela Anderson’s from Baywatch and Zoe is wearing a gold tassled crystal encrusted dress.

Jess hopes that her costume will bring her luck.

Jess said: “The last time I wore a catsuit it was for Liberty X’s Just a Little video – the song that won us a Brit. I’m hoping my costume will bring me luck on Sunday.”

Zoe’s outfit is flesh coloured and makes her look naked apart from some strategically placed crystals.

Zoe said: “My costume is absolutely beautiful; I think it could be my favourite yet. It’s very glitzy and glamorous and hopefully the viewers will love it as much as I do.

“It’s gold, sparkly and flesh coloured and it has gold tassels which move really nicely with my routine. Not to mention the gold Swarovski crystals which are every girl’s dream.”

Roxy’s costume is red and has cut-outs across the stomach to expose her skin.

Roxy said: “My outfit is red and it’s like a bikini with straps across the tummy. It’s made out of only half a metre of material and it’s very Baywatch.”

Dancing On Ice contestant Jessica Taylor has revealed that she would not want to continue on the show if her pal Roxanne Pallett went home.

Taylor told The Sun: “I feel like I wouldn’t want to do the show if Roxy wasn’t in it. We’ve become so close.”

Coleen Nolan reportedly feels the same about former glamour model, Melinda Messenger, though she may just have to grin and bear it after Jason Gardiner predicted that Messenger won’t be able to survive another week.

Three female Dancing On Ice competitors have all suffered rib injuries this week it has emerged.

Former Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon, former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett, ex-Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor have all received medical attention following falls in rehearsals.

Roxanne was taken to hospital on Tuesday as she injured herself whilst practising lifts with partner Dan. Jessica bruised three ribs also practising lifts with Pavel Aubrecht on Monday and Zoe suffered from muscle spasms between her ribs in training which led to her visiting the hospital.

“It’s quite deflating when you get an injury,” Pallett told the Sunday Mirror. “But once you leave the show you can’t go back so I’m going to be brave.”

She added: “I’m completely lost now. I’m completely doubting myself.”

“There’s nothing you can do to avoid it hurting,” Taylor explained. “I’m a bit frightened about doing anything at all now.”

Commenting on her injury Salmon said: “It’s a really sharp pain. It’s like someone has punched me.”

Dancing On Ice star, Jessica Taylor has said that she is really excited about her hubby returning from his cricket tour in the West Indies. Not because she misses him terribly, but because she wants to show off her new toned body.

Jessica told The Daily Star: “There’s nothing like skating for toning up the legs and bum. When Kevin is back I’m looking forward to being as fit as him for once!”

But Jessica is terrified when lifted by her partner Pavel Aubrecht because he’s so tall.

She added: “I’m terrified of the lifts because Pavel is about 6ft. It feels like I’m being lifted miles into the air. 

“But I feel sorry for the girls who are being lifted by the celeb boys. Imagine being lifted by Todd Carty – that would panic me.”

Jessica Taylor has admitted that she is seriously worried about being the first female to be voted off Dancing On Ice tonight.

“I am worried about being sent home the first week,” Taylor told The People. “You’re in a bit of a bubble when practising with your partner – you can go over things again. But on the night, you’ve only got one chance to get it right. The judges are strict so it’s daunting.”

She added: “I remember being absolutely gobsmacked when I first watched Dancing On Ice. As the weeks go on, the standard really improves. I’d love to be in long enough to do the really hard stuff.”
