Jo O’Meara Forced To Sell Country Home

Jo O'Meara

I am no Jo O’Meara fan by any means, but one has to pity the girl who is heavily pregnant and has now been forced to sell her home.

We have heard very little from S Club Jo since her disastrous appearance on Celebrity Big Brother last year, but whilst on the show she revealed that she was hoping to make enough money to save her country home, as she was struggling to keep up the mortgage payments.

Jo’s move backfired and after she left the show amidst a racism row, no-one wanted to touch her, never mind pay her.

The singer recently put the four-bedroom property in Noaks Hill, Essex, up for auction, but has now accepted an offer of £560,000. Continue reading ‘Jo O’Meara Forced To Sell Country Home‘ »

Celebrity Big Brother: Jo O’Meara Speaks

Jo O'MearaI have just been reading Jo O’Meara’s interview featured in todays News Of The World.

I think it was awful that a girl was driven to making a suicide attempt over a TV show and I do pity Jo and recognise that she is in a sorry state.

Howver a few things strike me as not quite right.

First of all she comments that after her failed suicide attempt, she decided not to go to hospital because:

“I knew if I went to hospital it would get out and everyone would know. Things would be a million times worse, and I couldn’t face that.”

Well selling your story to The News Of The World certainly didn’t help you keep the secret did it Jo?

Jo also claimed that the public’s perception of her was based on bad editing on the CBB editors part. I can see how the editors can manipulate a programme, I know that is common practice. However Jo said some awful things, the producers did not make those up. The whole row between Jade and Shilpa was completely unedited, we saw Jo blatantly laugh in Shilpa’s face when she asked for help…that cannot be blamed on editing, that was Jo being Jo.

Jo has been badly treated by the Big Brother staff. They used her and left her out to dry, however she needs to take some responsibilty for her actions. Jo O’Meara may not deserve to be the national hate figure that she has become, certainly things have been blown out of proportion. But Jo did behave badly. She was nasty and bitchy and showed a very bad side of herself. If she had the guts to admit that much maybe I wouldn’t dislike her so much.

Move on Jo, Danielle certainly has.

Celebrity Big Brother: Shilpa Shetty Flies Back To The UK To Help Jo O’Meara

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherCelebrity Big Brother winner, Shilpa Shetty recently traveled back to her home country to visit her ill father. But this week Shilpa will be making her return to the UK in order to help fellow Big Brother housemate Jo O’Meara.

It is said that Jo has suffered from agoraphobia since leaving the Big Brother house and has been unable to leave her hotel room since her reemergence into the real world.

Shilpa The Daily Star, “I would like to speak to Jo and make sure she is all right. I am very worried about her.”

“I know she is a good person and I hate to think of what she is going through. She doesn’t have much self-confidence and I know she must be having a terrible time.”

“I just want to speak to her and tell her to try to be strong. I have no ill feeling towards her. My heart goes out to her.”

Jo O’Meara Wants Celebrity Big Brother Axed

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherWhat a shock! Jo O’Meara has this week revealed that she believes that Celebrity Big Brother should be scrapped.

She told Sky News: “I feel if this is what a TV show does to people then it shouldn’t be a TV show.

“I have got to pick the pieces up or I will end up going mad - more mad than I am.

“I don’t think you can get much lower.

“They say you have to hit rock bottom before you can build yourself up. I just hope I’m at the bottom now.”

Racism should be banned too Jo…oh thats right…IT IS!

Celebrity Big Brother: Jo O’Meara Finally Apologises!

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherFormer S Club 7 singer O’Meara has issued a 900-word statement apologising for her behaviour in the Big Brother house.

“I have been asked why I did Big Brother. It was simply because I needed the money,” she said.

“I may lose my house and the fee offered was a lifeline which I took.”

She said that she had been issued with death threats and was too scared to go home.

“Am I the first person in the world to make a mistake or say regrettable things? I am devastated, sorry and honestly have no idea what to do next,” she said.

“I honestly believe that I was not a horrible person every day throughout the series”

Jo also blames Big Brother producers for manipulating situations inside the house.

“I think that as a group we would all have coped better if some of the surprise stunts hadn’t been pulled by Big Brother.

“Jade and her family entering the house late and the introduction of a slave/master culture is bizarre by anyone’s standards and automatically creates tension and a divide.”

Well it wasn’t much of an apology, but better late than never I suppose!

Celebrity Big Brother: Duchess Of York Asks Public To Lay Off Jo O’Meara

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherAfter watching Jo O’Meara’s interview on GMTV yesterday morning, The Duchess Of York, Sarah Ferguson asked her spokeswoman to phone the show and ask people to leave Jo O’Meara alone.

The Duchess said: “I didn’t watch the show and I don’t condone anything that was said or done. But I know what it’s like to be vilified. I’ve made mistakes.

“I watched her on television this morning and I saw this girl who was broken. All I’m saying is, it’s time to remove her from the stocks. Now it should stop.

Presenter Fiona Phillips told viewers: “Sarah, the Duchess, is watching this morning. She is very upset by the Jo interview.

“She says she knows what it is like to be vilified and misrepresented and has a lot of sympathy for Jo.

I wonder would she have been so understanding if she had seen the evil expiring from Jo whilst in the Big Brother house?

Big Brother’s Jo O’Meara interviewed on GMTV this morning

Celebrity Big Brother’s Jo O’Meara, shaking and sobbing at 6.45 this morning was interviewed on GMTV. A very distraught Jo was asked about her stay in Big Brother, her relationship with Shilpa Shetty and the accusations of bullying and racism by the public and press. Although distraught, she stood adamantly by her statements of not guilty and said that Big Brother had edited the show in such a way as to paint the picture of her (and others) in the way portrayed and that the good parts had been left out e.g. the nice times with Shilpa who she said she had not bonded with as well as she did with others (the housemates had complained of Shilpa being very controlling and annoying) but that they had got on better, even well, later in the show. She said being portrayed as the continuously smoking, bathrobed person was also false as she had showered and dressed every day but with one shower shared by so many, this meant that some had to shower later than the others and like Jo, remained in their robes until the shower was available. She also pointed out that it had been like living in a fish bowl and all your faults high lighted and shown on TV (not to forget the editing to promote ‘more interesting’ viewing…. at the cost of three young women’s lives). If Shilpa and the housemates (even after seeing the edited worst parts in the house, said to have been taken out of context and sequence) could insist there was no bullying or racism (surely THEY should know, living in such close proximity) why do the media and public persist in their accusations? Are they happy (is Big Brother happy) when they see the results of their far worse bullying and exploitation? Many people have urged that Big Brother be closed down and not allowed to continue as no monitory gain is worth the cruel destruction of lives.

Jo explained that she had gone into the BB house in an effort to save her home which she said was about to be repossessed (and now she has lost her whole life, a shaking and sobbing mess, rocking back and forth, on the verge of a break down).

Dr Hillary, who was also on GMTV, said that Jo felt betrayed and let down by Big Brother and needed the full support of friends and family.

Is this what the public want to see? The product of media bulling far worse than anything shown in the very confined spaced Big Brother house. Big Brother should have been fair to these girls and also shown repeated full footage of the behaviour of others in the house which had brought about their dislike of Shilpa, in the beginning. Jade Goody and Jack Tweedy had obviously objected to the way Shilpa had spoken and behaved towards Jade’s mother Jackiey. They had not had a chance to get the know the nicer Shilpa that later emerged. Even the crowd booed Shilpa from very early in the show and right up to her being chosen as the winner of Big Brother. How do we explain this? Why were they booing her when BB said she had won with 63% of the votes

Celebrity Big Brother: Jade And Danielle Have A Chance, But Jo Will Never Recover

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherI hope that Jo O’Meara is not considering relaunching her pop career any time in the near future, I don’t believe she stands a chance.

Upon leaving the Big Brother house Jade Goody managed to look contrite, ashamed, apologetic and disgusted by her behaviour. Danielle too looked shocked by her behaviour and admitted that she had been a bitch and had easily followed the crowd. Jo however showed no such remorse. Jo did not apologise but reiterated the fact that Shilpa irritated her…..because that makes bullying ok doesn’t it?

I didn’t expect Jo to admit to being racist, I don’t think that she necessarily is, but a blind man could see that she was being a *itch. Why couldn’t she just admit that?

I would be surprised if Jo recovers from this fiasco. People will not only think of her as a nasty piece of work, but she will be remembered as the one who wasn’t sorry. The one who thought she was right. I think we can safely kiss any S Club 7 reunions goodbye!

Jo and Cleo Evicted

Jo O'Meara - Celebrity Big BrotherWell, they couldn’t really let Jo go out and face the music on her own, could they?

Pretty sneaky move on the part of Big Brother, as we sort of wanted to see someone take the fall for last week’s racism and bullying extravaganza. It looked likely that Jo was going to take the fall…until they chucked Cleo Rocos out at the same time.

So - Jo’s boos were mixed with Cleo’s cheers and now the production crew have about an hour to brief Jo and Cleo on what’s been happening for the last couple of weeks. So, the voting public are denied the look of shock on Jo’s face as she discovers just how vile most of the nation thinks she is. Not fair.

On a personal level, I’ve been very disappointed by Jo on Celebrity Big Brother. I used to admire her in S Club 7, and always assumed that she was a leader in that group and not a follower. To find out she picks on people and invents huge vendettas against people was a big letdown…..

Jo’s Exit Interview

Well, contrary to what I expected Davina virtually made mincemeat of old Jo. No holds barred, although how much did Jo know in the hour leading up to the interview? I don’t know.

Still, she didn’t seem to have the wit to properly distance herself from the Shilpa/Jade debacle. Davina: “So, was that what you’re really like?” Jo: “Duh, yeah Davina. Smoking, hating, that’s me love. Did you like me dressing gown?”

It’s just a shame that the hack job that Jade “emotional damage” Goody should have received fell to Jo, who was really only a bit player!

Cleo’s Interview

Poor Cleo, all she did was stood by and watched, but Davina needed to know why she didn’t intervene. And having seen her swift destruction of Jo O’Meara, she was obviously a bit guarded. Although Davina treated her as an accomplice by not getting involved and choosing instead to drag in Jermaine.

Never mind, Cleo still came across pretty well, given the circumstances. The post-Big Brother press circuit will tell whether she’s got staying power.

Celebrity Big Brother 2007: Cleo Rocos Finds A Soulmate!

Cleo Rocos - Celebrity Big BrotherCleo Rocos has today revealed to Big Brother that not only has she made some new friends in the house but she has also found a soulmate in Jo O’Meara.

Speaking in the diary room, Cleo said:

“We’ve become close to soulmates in a short time… I haven’t had a friend like that for many, many years. That’s not something you can fake,”

“It’s somebody you least expected it to be. I think she’s fantastic… she’s very genuine,”

Either Big Brother is editing Jo’s footage really well or Cleo is dillusional. Jo does not come across as genuine, in fact I have yet to see a characteristic of Jo’s that I like. Jo has been portrayed as nasty, bitchy, whiny and grumpy…I just don’t see what Cleo likes so much.
