Arlene Phillips has said that the Strictly Come Dancing judges were right to get rid of Jo Wood, on Saturday night’s show.

Phillips told The Sun: “She just has no idea what to do with her legs. Brendan [Cole] looked like he was moving a plank of wood, not a body. All I could think was the clocks have gone back and so has Jo.”

The choreographer continued: “She can’t work out her right from her left. She has no understanding or awareness of it. It is often something that goes back to childhood.

“I can’t imagine what she’s like driving. If she drives like she dances, she needs warning signs. I wouldn’t want to be in a car with her.”

Jo Wood has finally left Strictly Come Dancing. Her ex husband will be pleased!

Wood found herself in the bottom two with Olympic athlete Jade Johnson.

Wood and Cole disappointed the judges with their samba and scored only 14. They finished at the bottom of the leaderboard.

After the dance-off, all four judges saved Jade Johnson. However, Alesha Dixon praised Wood for being a “fantastic sport” on the show.

Speaking about her departure, the entrepreneur said: “I’m surprised that I lasted this long. I have enjoyed every second. I am going to go and dance with [Brendan] on his tour.”

Strictly Come Dancing competitor Jo Wood, has admitted that taking part in the BBC show has been the hardest thing she has ever done.

Jo, 54, told Closer magazine: “Even childbirth was easier – at least my children arrived quickly! It is a bit like going back to school.”

“Sometimes I wonder if Brendan’s thinking, ‘This woman is a joke!’ But he never gets cross.

“Yesterday my mind went blank. I had no idea what I was doing, but he managed to stay patient. I had a good cry!”

Strictly come Dancing star, Jo Wood has been struggling with her nerves ever since she joined the competition. It probably doesn’t help that she can’t actually dance!

As a result of her shattered nerves, she sought advice from confidence and nerve management guru Boo Holmes. After a meeting at Jo’s house and going through some important techniques to boost Jo’s confidence (like breathing exercises, having positive body language, and learning to visualise the dance), Jo was noticeably more upbeat through rehearsals.

She told her partner Brendan Cole:

‘On Saturday, I’m going to go out there and surprise you. Really want to surprise you and you go, oh my god Jo, that was amazing’.

The chances are very, very slim Jo. Don’t get your hopes up!

Ronnie Wood, estranged husband of Strictly Come Dancing competitor Jo Wood, has reportedly accused her of ‘cheapening herself’ by agreeing to appear on the show.

The Sun claims that Ronnie has been texting Jo incessantly trying to get her to quit the show and as the dancer struggles with the flu this week, she is finding it hard to carry on.

A source said: “Ron has been getting on Jo’s case for agreeing to appear in Strictly.

“He reckons she has done it to win a popularity contest and get people on her side.

“He thinks it’s cheap to be involved in what he sees as a silly dancing show with fame-hungry wannabes. The messages have been persistent and Jo managed to ignore them for a while.

“But they have started getting her upset now and it has all been a bit too much this week.

“Ron can be a hurtful devil when he wants to be.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Jo Wood is said to be having hypnosis in a bid to conquer her nerves. Jo has been heavily criticised by the judges for her dancing style so far and is terrified of making a fool of herself on tonight’s show.

A source told The Mirror: “Jo and Brendan are doing the paso doble and he wants more aggression in the dance. But Jo is finding it hard to be feisty and even if the hypnosis session cures her nerves, it won’t change her style.

“Only large amounts of practice will help that.”

Jo, 54, hinted at the hypnosis on her Twitter site yesterday.

She said: “Not feeling so hot, hope I’m gonna be OK for Saturday’s show. Gonna work hard on my nerves.”

Who would have tagged Brendan Cole as a granny chaser? But in an interview with the News of the World, he called Jo Woods ‘so sexy!’

“Jo may be 20 years older than me, but this is no mother-son relationship,” he said. “I want the country to be ready to watch some of the sexiest rumbas they’ve ever seen, courtesy of us.

“Jo is so sexy. She is endearing and pretty. I’d heard the bookies said there was a 7-1 chance we’d have an affair. Considering I’m engaged, it’s kind of disgusting, but we had a laugh about it.

“Then we were practising the rumba and Jo nailed this one sexy move. I told her the odds had fallen to 5-1. The next day they were down to 4-1. That’s where we stopped it, though it’s a standing joke.”

“When she is struggling I will give her a little kick in the pants and say, ‘Is that all you’ve got, granny?’” he said. “And I’ll see that feisty little spark in her eye.

“Now I push her hard and she responds brilliantly. We’ve got a little spark together and I hope that will come across on the dancefloor. We’re working well and we’ve got great chemistry.”

A source told The Sun: “Jo just can’t keep time and it is infuriating.

“It’s nothing to do with effort. She is putting all the hours in.

But it seems 30 years on the road with the Stones hasn’t given her the edge she hoped.

“An element could be stress and it might click on the night.

“But she will get ripped to shreds by the judges if her timing is out.

Jo has revealed that Strictly has given her a new focus and told The Sunday People:

Strictly Come Dancing competitor Jo Wood has reportedly been taking performance tips from her ex-husband’s former bandmate, Mick Jagger.

A BBC1 insider told The Sun: “Jo’s been after some performance tips from Mick Jagger.

“She knows that he’s got lots of experience as a showman and she really wants to make sure she dazzles in the competition.

“So who better than the Rolling Stones’ frontman for some advice?

“The pair are pals and she’s really keen to do her best on Strictly.”

Jo, has been paired with Brendan Cole, who is notoriously competitive. The pair have been practising for hours every day.

The insider added: “It’s especially hard work as each couple have to do two dances this year.

“There have been a lot of blisters.”
