New couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato took to the American idol stage night and sang their Friends for Change: Project Green song “Make a Wave.”

The inspirational track is set to be featured in the upcoming Disney film “Oceans” and stresses the importance of protecting the world’s water habitat.

Presenter Ryan Seacrest teased the pair after their performance saying:

“Good chemistry between these two onstage right now.”

The final eleven American Idol contestants will be mentored by Miley Cyrus in advance of this week’s show.

US TV network Fox revealed:

Miley Cyrus will appear as a guest mentor on “American Idol” and help the Top 11 finalists prepare for their performances on a Billboard No.1 Hits-themed show airing Tuesday, March 23 on FOX.

The Hannah Montana star will also appear on Wednesday’s results show performing her new single “When I Look at You.” Also performing will be Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato singing their song “Make a Wave.”

In other news Usher has revealed that he will appear on Idol next Tuesday and Wednesday night, suggesting that he will act as mentor for the week.

Joe Jonas, one third of pop sensation The Jonas Brothers has been confirmed as the next guest judge on American Idol.

Since Paula Abdul vacated her seat, her role has been filled by guest celebrity judges. So far Victoria Beckham has recorded audition episodes, with Mary J Blige and Katy Perry to follow.

Also rumoured to be joining the panel are Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Simpson.
