X Factor finalists Rachel Adedeji, Miss Frank, Rikki Loney and Kandy Rain won’t be heading out on the official XF tour this year. The acts had hoped that they would be allowed to perform at some of the venues, but this year’s lineup includes only Lucie Jones, Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry, Lloyd Daniels, Jamie Archer, Olly Murs, Danyl Johnson and John and Edward Grimes.
The news seemed to come as a shock to Dannii Minogue who was sure that Rachel Adedeji would take part in some of the tour dates. She wrote on her Twitter page:
X Factor rejects Kandy Rain have hit out at hopeful Danyl Johnson calling him fake, arrogant & two faced. Though they refused to comment on Danyl when we spoke to them last Monday, it seems they have sold the whole sordid story to The News Of The World.
Azi Jegbefume, told the newspaper: “He is the most fake person in the entire world. He’s really two-faced. He can turn on tears in a flash.”
“He thinks to himself, ‘How will this look if I cry on camera? Will it make me look good?’ That’s how he works,” says Azi.
I’ve interviewed a fair few X Factor contestants over the years. It’s always on the Monday after their elimination and they’re always quite bullish about their post-X Factor singing careers.
Kandy Rain, who were formed well in advance of this year’s X Factor, are in frighteningly good form. All four of the girls are bellowing down the line at me excitedly. These girls are a force of nature – laughing and talking over the top of each other. And they’ve got that weird synergy that when one girl stops talking, another will pick up from where they left off and continue. And spookily, all four frequently say exactly the same thing at the same time.
And that’s where we pick up our interview, with the Kandy Rain girls excitedly screaming hello down the phone lines…
Hello!!! We were sorry to hear that you girls got eliminated on Sunday night’s X Factor. We’d hoped that you’ve get a little father than this in the competition. Did you feel it was unfair that you got eliminated in the first week?
If we’re going based on our performance, then we don’t really feel it was fair. We went out there and gave everything on Saturday night and we felt we put in a really good performance, but due to the press and everything – we’ve had a lot of bad press – so in that respect, it wasn’t much of a shock. X Factor rejects Kandy Rain have insisted that they had much more planned for their X Factor journey and many more tricks up their sleeves.
“We would have gone all out – we had a lot of tricks up our sleeve but unfortunately you don’t get to see it because you didn’t vote,” said Coco Lloyd told MSN.
Kandy Rain have become the first act to leave the X Factor 2009.
After only one live performance, the girls ended up in the bottom two with Rachel Adedeji. The judges struggled to decide who they wanted to send home and with each act winning two votes each, the show went into deadlock and referred back to the public voting figures.
So it was goodbye to raunchy Kandy Rain and all their lap dancing publicity, yet John and Edward remain!! How did it happen and how do you feel? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
On last night’s X Factor the judges seemed very unconcerned with how the acts sang, and more bothered by how they looked or which gender they fancied.
After Kandy Rain gave their performance of ‘Addicted To Love’, Dannii Minogue failed to comment on their singing and instead blasted their outfits. She stated:
X Factor singer, Coco Lloyd has admitted that she was a bit of a naughty schoolgirl when she was younger. The 22 year old, who sings with girlband Kandy Rain, was recorded by a lads mag saying that when she was younger, she had sex with her teacher, in a classroom.
