Dense Van Outen and professional dance partner, James Jordan, found themselves in the unlikely and shocking position of having to dance for their place in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing quarter-finals, up against West Life’s Nicky Byrne and his professionals partner, Karen Hauer, during the first ever Strictly dance-fusion week.
Denise and James have always been circling the top of the leader board since the beginning of the competition, but a wardrobe malfunction, when Denise got her heel caught in her skirt during Saturday night’s how, sent them crashing down to the middle of the table with their Quick Step come Jive, of which Craig said: “The Jive was absolutely fantastic, your kicks and flicks are just brilliant.”

Nicky Byrne and his professional dance partner, Karen Hauer, danced their last dance on Sunday night, as they were voted off a week before the semi-finals of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing by a unanimous judge’s decision after they competed in the dance off with series favourites, Denise Van Outen.
This week, instead of having to learn one new dance, Nicky had to learn two as the show held its first ever dance fusion week which saw celebrities have to mix two dances given to them by producers in a spectacular showcasing event.

Nicky Byrne and his professional dance partner, Karen Hauer, danced their way in to the bottom two of last week’s Strictly Come Dancing, with a James Bond themed Argentine Tango that Craig Revel Horwood called “too aggressive and stompy” and that Len Goodman said was “lacking something.”
Facing his best friend in the competition in the dance off, Michael Vaughan, Westlife singer Nicky managed to win over all four judges with a unanimous vote to keep him in the competition and so lives to dance another day, but how did he feel about being in the bottom two, and how does he intend to keep from going there again?

Strictly Come Dancing and Westlife star Nicky Byrne has defended his pro partner Karen Hauer.
Karen, who received a barrage of criticism on her opening night from show Mr Nasty, Craig Revel Horwood, joined the professional dancers on the hugely popular BBC reality dancing show this year, having previously played the same role in the similar US series, So You Think You Can Dance.
She was partnered with Nicky, who was expected to do great things due to his stage experience, but from week one they have failed to make the impression anyone was expecting.

Nicky Byrne has admitted that Karen v was playing games with him in rehearsals this week.
The Strictly Come Dancing contestant will perform a jive on this evening’s show, which will be his seventh performance of the series. It’s a fast paced dance and he confessed that although his practice sessions started out well, they quickly descended into chaos and it wasn’t until later that he found out why.

As fans of Strictly Come Dancing will recall, during their first live routine, pro-dancer Karen Hauer and her celeb partner Nicky Byrne carried out what was termed an “illegal lift” for which judge Craig Revel Horwood slated her for incorporating into the waltz.
However, an unrepentant Karen has told TV Biz that she doesn’t regret the move at all, saying, “I don’t think it was a mistake. We take risks as performers and artists and it was a learning experience.”
She added, “I am new to this so I had to learn the ropes. It was just a shame Nicky did a great waltz and all of the focus was on those two seconds where my feet left the floor.”
Nicky backed up Karen’s words, saying, “It’s better to be talked about than not be talked about – not that we did it on purpose… Read more & comment »

We’ve been pretty excited about seeing Nicky Byrne perform on Strictly Cone Dancing for the first time and as old Westlife fans, we have to admit to experiencing a bit of a heart flutter when the boyband star took to the dancefloor this evening.
The crooner was paired with brand new professional dancer Karen Hauer on the launch show two weeks ago and the duo have been hard at work ever since, rehearsing in Dublin and London and perfecting the moves of their first routine.

The Strictly Come Dancing celebs and pro-dancers are all out of action at the moment as a “nasty” flu bug has hit the stars, laying them all low and jeopardizing their rehearsals for the live shows, which begin on October 5th.
Dani Harmer told the Mirror, “Everyone on Strictly has flu. I caught it off Vincent [Simone] now we’ve all got it. It’s crazy.”
And to The Sun, she added, “It’s crazy. My eyes are watering so much and I can’t stop coughing which makes training difficult…
“But I am still really enjoying the rehearsals.”
On Monday, Dani’s fellow contestant Denise Van Outen took to Twitter to say, “I’ve got a stinking cold. GRRR.”
And last week gymnast Louis Smith tweeted, “Really don’t wanna leave my house today feel ill…” Read more & comment »

Nicky Byrne obviously didn’t think he would really be dancing when he attended his first Strictly Come Dancing rehearsal, as he showed up wearing a pair of casual shorts.
The former Westlife singer looked a picture when he donned his tap shoes for the first time, with a little pair of white trainer socks, and teamed them with a pair of knee length bottoms.
The Irish hunk revealed that he hadn’t expected to get right down to business on the first day and confessed:
