Big Brother has been engulfed in yet another race row, as former Eastenders actress Wendy Richards appeared to racially abuse Thai housemate, Kathreya.

Wendy was talking on spin-off show Big Brother’s Little Brother on Monday night and commented: “I was a big fan of Kat, and we would discuss it amongst our friends and they said she is not right.

“I looked at her through different eyes and I have to admit they were right and I was wrong. She is fake, and she is very cute.

“What is it they say about these inscrutable Chinese? And she is Thai, but it is all Oriental isn’t it? Well it is to me anyway.”

Realising how Wendy’s comments could be interpreted, presenter George Lamb quickly said: “I don’t think that is unique to Asian people, more to Kat.”

Wendy continued: “They don’t betray their emotions on their face, that is what I meant.”

TV watchdog Ofcom has already received complaints about the episode, which was cut from E$ repeats of the show. Read more & comment »

We’re in the home stretch now, only three more days until Big Brother 2008 draws to a close and tonight saw the last proper eviction before the winners are announced.

Housemates had no idea that there would be a double eviction tonight and much as I dislike Mo, even I felt sorry for him when he found out he would be leaving.

But if Mo was mess when he found out he was going then Kathreya was an emotional wreck! Thankfully she picked up rightly during her eviction interview and her rendition of ‘Happy & You Know It’ was simply HIRARIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

So that leaves Mikey, Darnell, Sara, Rachel and Rex in Friday night’s final……who do you think should win?

Big Brother housemate Kathreya has revealed that she hates having to nominate any of her fellow housemates for eviction.

She told the group today:

“I can’t think. I still can’t think. I feel like a dumbo. I feel like an idiot.

“Don’t even know who to say. Got to know who to say, then got to try and find a reason. In my life, I never say negative things!”

How strange…an actually nice Big Brother housemate.

As Kathreya the cookie monster entered the Big Brother house last Thursday, I was sure she would be even more irritating than last years’s BB housemate, Nikki Grahame. However in the last week Kathreya has proved herself to be a warm and caring person with a wild and wacky side. Kind of like a Thai Timmy Mallett if you like.

It seems as though the housemates have all warmed to Kat too and last night Stephanie told her:

“You’re such a nice person Kat.

“Not everyone’s like you, you always see the good in people. It’s not easy to only see the good in people like you do.”

Big Brother housemate Kathreya may be zany and crazy, but isn’t she loveable?

She has revealed to her fellow housemates today that when she marries her fiance she wants to have an elephant as a bridesmaid.

All I can say is that she had better find one hell of a big church to fit it it!!!

I really think that Big Brother housemate, Kathreya, should make it to this years final, just for pure entertainment value.

Kathreya is Big Brother’s first Thai housemate. She came to the UK from Thailand seven years ago to study, and has since become a British citizen.

Her main obsession is cookies. Kathreya says she’s addicted to them and she carries a cookie jar with her wherever she goes. Her dream is to travel the world and taste cookies in every country. A Thai massage therapist, she would love to one day open her own Thai massage agency, or alternatively open her own restaurant as she’s also passionate about cooking.

Kathreya is a Buddhist, believes strongly in Karma and will do anything to avoid an argument. She loves wearing bright clothing, and wears platform boots at all times to give her extra height as she is only 5ft tall.
