Cage Fighting attention seeker Alex Reid has made an official statement about his split from glamour model, Katie Price.

Alex had jetted to Australia, hoping to propose to Katie. However after she walked out of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, she dumped him live on air without even seeing him.

Alex’s official spokesperson released this statement today:

Following yesterday’s surprise revelations that Alex Reid’s relationship with Katie Price has apparently ended, Cage Fighter Films Ltd, with whom Alex has contractual obligations and responsibilities, would like to make it clear that he will continue with his business meetings associated with the film Cage Rage at undisclosed locations in Australia.?

Naturally there are ongoing telephone conversations between the couple, but Alex has no further comment to make at this time regarding the state of their relationship.

Feeling used much Alex?

PR expert Max Clifford has claimed that Katie Price made a huge mistake by walking off ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.

Katie left the show after being voted to take part in her seventh Bushtucker trial, however Max thinks that by quitting she may come across as a bit of a diva.

Last night Clifford told The Daily Star: “In terms of PR, what Jordan did last night was not a good move at all.

“It’s clear the public don’t like her because she kept getting nominated for all the trials. By storming off, that has been cemented.”

Max added: “She could have used the jungle to her advantage but she’s done the opposite.

“It could be the beginning of the end for her. Next year could be it. Her career is starting to show elements of diminishing returns.

“The public have seen the real Kate Price over the past few months and they don’t like what they see.”

Katie Price has been chatting about why she decided to walk out of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity. The glamour model admitted that she missed her kids terribly whilst in camp and also found it hard to watch Stuart Manning flirt with campmate Sabrina Washington, as it reminded her of her love affair with Peter Andre.

Katie said:

‘My number one reason for leaving was I missed the kids so much I will never ever leave them again for this long, although it’s a week before I leave here I have Skype and can see and talk to them. Although I didn’t show it on there, I kept it in

‘Also, the whole place reminded me of Pete from the moment I woke up, the afternoon to the moment I went to sleep, every second it was Pete, Pete, Pete and although they were amazing, happy memories, I had in there I’d lie there and think those good memories are way gone but then I was still there with constant reminders of Pete, Pete, Pete, Pete.

‘It was hard to deal with before I went in there, I thought I’ll walk in there and either break down or deal with the closure. I walked in and they (the other celebrities) all welcomed me and it was so ironic that I had the same bed as last time; nobody wanted it because the bonfire smokes over it.

‘That was really, really hard to deal with because waking up in the mornings I’d wake up and look over and think Peter’s going to be there and then I’d be like, course Pete’s not going to be there, I’m not with Pete any more.

‘I said to myself, I’m not going to talk about Pete and the last 7 months and what’s happened but people asked me questions. Pete helped me through it last time, this time no-one was there to help me through it, I was having closure but some of the reminders…it was cruel to do it to myself so I just didn’t want to stay there.

‘I have no regrets it’s the best thing I have done in the last 7 months it was a test to see how emotionally strong I was. We met on TV and it was something I had to do and I’m so grateful I got that opportunity.

‘I don’t regret leaving I had a great big grin on my face when I walked over the bridge.

‘I’m not saying they are a couple but I found watching Stuart and Sabrina flirting hard because I thought that’s how people saw me and Pete, I couldn’t bear to see another love story happen under my nose where I had an amazing journey for six years. With any reality show people will always pair up because of me and Pete, but you can’t repeat a real love story and that was Katie and Peter, it was true love and that’s why it was so sad.

‘I did enjoy the experience it’s a weird one why I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it because it kind of torture to myself. It was like, its as if that is the punishment I needed. Not that I needed punishment but its like all what happened its like I really got it in there like with the trials, the emotional. I felt like I was punished in there.

‘I’m not saying anyone punished me but I felt to myself this is a real big test to myself to see how strong I am. I can’t explain, only I would know, I can’t rally explain. So the whole experience was very weird and emotionally up and down. Although I didn’t show it.

‘It’s made me realise I can’t satisfy anyone else I have to satisfy myself. Life is too short. I thought about the year, all the people that have died and I’m not going to be a yes, yes, yes, person. I may be a product but I’m not going to be pulled here, there and everywhere. I’ve got to realise it’s me, my kids.

‘At the end of the day take everything away all what’s left would be me and my kids, my family and friends. And that is worth more to me than big houses, cars, money because you’ve always got that unit. I found out, it was important before but it’s made me realise that’s so much more important to me than anything.’

Upon walking out of the I’m A Celebrity jungle camp, Katie Price chatted with her best friend, Michelle Heaton, on site. She asked Michelle for any gossip and said that she needed to see all of the newspaper coverage before making a decision about the future of her relationship with her boyfriend Alex Reid.

Katie hugged Michelle and asked “Is there lots of goss?”

Michelle said “Alex . . .” Katie replied “Oh no. Just say the truth. Just say what’s happened.”

“He was supposed to be coming over to propose to you” said Michelle. “What?!” exclaimed Katie, surprised.

Michelle explained “We think live on TV. Listen you know how we all feel.”

Katie asked “As a friend what would you tell me to do right now? Is this going to be another Scott situation?”

Michelle told her “You need to get rid of him baby. I’ve told you.”

Katie replied “I tell you what. If he’s done stories . . . that is it.”

“I don’t know whether he’s here yet or what. We don’t know” said Michelle.

“Well before I see him I need to see everything” she said. “Exactly, you need to make your own decision. Which you always will do” replied Michelle.

I’ve been having an interesting debate with @Bang2Write on Twitter about how women and men are treated in the media. It comes in the face of Katie Price walking away from I’m A Celebrity after being consistently voted for a string of disgusting tasks. The conversation started with this comment:

I’m ashamed of the public’s bullying of Katie Price. I wonder if she wld be so hated if she was a man?

To be honest, it got me thinking – how many male celebs get the same level of stick for shameful antics in the public eye? You’ve got Liam Gallagher and Jay Kay (Jamiroquai) hassling photographers, Pete Doherty generally being quite a high-profile junkie. Bang2Write goes on to cite Eddie Murphy and Steve Bing for denying paternity of their respective children, Anton Du Beke for getting off rather lightly for his racial slur.

I found myself thinking she had a point, but I think there’s an important distinction here: the most vilified females in pop culture are the ones who (arguably) have no talent to trade on. It’s the unholy trinity of Katie Price, Kerry Katona and the late, great Jade Goody.

The careers of those three in particular either live or die on the back of their tabloid coverage. Look at Katie Price, who actually went on a nationally broadcast reality TV show saying she needed a break from publicity. The same woman who, when public opinion was turning against her started a story about a miscarriage and then dropped a bombshell about a rape in her past. The relevance? Looking for a sympathy vote. You can ask whether men get off lightly, but would a man ever pull off that kind of sick stunt?

Talent versus Celebrity?

That, I think, is a great contrast with the men Bang2Write mentions above – all of the above guys are generally recognised for their creative output: writing, dancing, acting, presenting. The odd incident shouldn’t be a career destroying thing, although even Du Beke feared that his outburst would cost him TV presenting work in the future. The thing with Price, Katona and Goody in particular is that they capitalise on their private lives and then sell stuff – perfumes, calendars, personal appearances, adverts – based on their celeb status.

Positive female role models

Another comment about Peter Andre (and male celebs in general):

I’m unconvinced, he’s got the same steely look in his eye as Katie, IMHO difference is women are called out for ambition

Women are called out for their ambition? Beyonce Knowles might be one of the most powerful females in music right now, and I rarely see negative press for her. In fact, her conduct toward Taylor Swift recently has a lot of people believing she’s the next Mother Teresa. And look for a moment at Rihanna – the victim of a serious domestic violence incident, a story which she couldn’t deny or hide from. Instead of selling her story and capitalising on it, she kept a stoic silence, kept a low profile and then returned to her music career. It was all tastefully handled.

There are a ton of positive female role models out there: in music, movies and TV. They’re ambitious, successful and entertaining. Whether it’s Angelina Jolie or more close to home, Holly Willoughby, there are women who are totally admirable.

My point?

I don’t agree that women have a harder time than men in pop culture. I think a certain type of female celeb has – the type that sells their private life to stay famous. The personal dramas of Katie Price and Kerry Katona have kept them minted for years, but at the expense of their dignity. And people are tired of it – they realise now that Price manufactures most of her own drama, and they’ve turned against her.

It’s a bit like when we found out Britney Spears was tipping the papparazzi off whenever she went out and about.

Anyway, over to you lot – do you think female celebrities are more likely to get a hard time with the press and the public than males are?

It looks like ITV won’t get their live marriage proposal after all, because Katie Price has sensationally quit I’m A Celebrity.

Katie’s boyfriend Alex Reid had planned to propose to her as she left the show, however being voted to take part in her seventh consecutive bushtucker trial proved too much to take and Katie left the show last night.

Katie told the show producers:

“I can’t do another trial. I’m walking.

“There’s only so much c*** one person can take.

“The way I’ve been treated on the show by the viewers, you’d think I was the most hated woman in Britain.”

“It is getting beyond a joke.

“Everyone seems to hate me so much more than I thought.

“I said at the start that I came on the show for a bit of peace and quiet, to try and get my head together after the divorce. But now I’m feeling uncomfortable.”

An ITV source confirmed: “Katie Price has left the show – as of today.

“We tried to talk her into staying but her mind was made up and she has left immediately.”

Katie Price is threatening to leave I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, after being voted to do yet another Bushtucker trial.

Katie has faced a trial every day since she entered the camp last week and when Ant and Dec announced that she was up for yet another one today, she point blank refused to do it.

Joe Swash reported for ITV2 that Kim Woodburn had offered to do the trial in Katie’s place and that the entire group had made their way to the Bush Telegraph hut, to try and get Katie a reprieve. Katie is banging on about the public persecuting her, whilst the group are assuring her that she wouldn’t be letting them down if she left.

I imagine that the ITV bosses will do everything in their power to keep Katie for a little bit longer, after all if she goes, they don’t get their on air marriage proposal!

The public once again voted for Katie Price to do her sixth I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trial. “It’s another day at the office hon,” said Colin. “Yeah, I’ll go and hunt for us again,” she replied. “Feed us Katie, feed us,” said Jimmy.

Katie explained: “I suppose you get into a routine and the routine is I go out to work to bring back the food and you just have your daily routine. I’m the bread winner. I’m going back to work to get the food to provide for my little chickens. I’ve no idea how many stars I’m going to get. I’d like to get a full house. I do every day. I’ve no idea what this challenge is. It’s called Car–Lamity. I don’t even know what calamity means.”

Ahead of the trial, hosts Ant and Dec asked how she was feeling, she said: “Do you know I’m actually feeling more deflated today. It’s like, ‘How many more can a girl possibly do?’ They’ve [the public] seen me with bugs, terrified, they’ve seen me cry. So today I said to camp, ‘It will just be like me going to the office. I’ll get there, I’ll tremble, I’ll cry, I’ll moan, do the challenge come back and then I can chill for the day and me and Jimmy we can just watch and wait for our food.’”

Asked why she thinks she keeps getting picked she said: “Either they love me or they hate me. No idea. I’ve always got lovers and haters but my family and friends they probably love it because they get to see more of me but I’m telling them now I’m not loving it. I’m gutted I’m not in exile. I’d love to be in the last three to get voted out. It’s mad, I’ve done my due course, get me out of here.”

The trial was entitled ‘Car-Lamity’. Using the car provided, Katie had to manoeuvre it around the course, pausing at the four stations along the way. At every station there would be an opportunity to win stars. At each station, three stars were up for grabs. Eight stars go to Base Camp the others used for Exile.

Unimpressed by the task ahead, Katie then addressed the public who have been voting for her to complete the trials and said: “Please don’t vote me tomorrow, please I’ve had enough. Everyone else, give then something to do. You’ve seen me struggle, you’ve seen me cry, shake, wanna die. There’s only certain things I can do. I’m a trouper I’ll give it a go. But I really don’t want to be doing this.”

Once in the car, Katie was instructed to go at the green light and pull up at the first station which was a barrier. Resting on top was an oil tanker. Once underneath the tanker released gunge onto Katie and into the car. Hidden within the gunge were three stars. Routing around Katie found all three and continued onto the next station.

The next station was the Drive Thru’ in which Katie was served ‘krunchy fried bug’,’french flies’ and ‘crocolate milkshake’. Each meal was worth one star. After her eating challenge yesterday, Katie claimed that she couldn’t do. Encouraged by hosts Ant and Dec she refused to drink all of the Crocolate milkshake but ate the Krunchy Fried Bug claiming it tasted like pork scratchings and French Flies winning two of the possible three stars. Afterwards she said: “Do you know its mentally torturing? I’m starting to feel a bit sick.”

Next up was Roadworks. Breaking through the sign, she had to retrieve the three stars which were entangled in cobwebs and protected by spiders. Having expressed a fear of them, Katie managed to get all three stars.

The final station was Car Wash and retrieve the three star. She manoeuvred through the two vertical brushes and was sprayed by ‘polish’ orange wax but she successfully unclipped all three. Base Camp would receive the full eight meals whilst Exile would receive three.

After the trial Katie said: “[That’s] something I would do with the kids. They’d love all this slime. I actually enjoyed that I’d do that again. Thank you pubic you made me do something fun. I’ll be putting my feet up now all afternoon. Like a little Princess.”

As she departed she said: “Love you kids.”

Michelle Heaton has admitted that she is worried about her pal Katie Price and thinks that she may be struggling on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.

In what we would have assumed was against the show’s rules, Price gave a note for Heaton to the programme’s producers, which said: “I’m really worried if it carries on like this, I’ll end up cracking up. I’m really tired. I’m exhausted.

“I am doing everything I can. I have come on this show, I’ve bared everything and been completely myself.

“If that isn’t going to get me any kind of acceptance then I don’t know what I can do.”

Heaton told The People: “I’m worried there is only so much more she can take. The public want to see her pay her time, they want to see her suffer, that’s the mentality of the people who hate Kate.

“People think she is this awful person, this person who has become horrible since she split with her ex-husband Pete Andre. People think Pete was the glue that kept her together but it’s not true.

“I think viewers saw her as a horrible person. Everyone loves to be entertained.

“Now they have seen something really vulnerable about her. The British public are evil, they want people to fail.

“She feels she is being persecuted by the public. We have started to see how emotionally drained she is. Then she found out she was nominated again for the trials.”

Alex Reid is reportedly on his way to Australia, so he can propose to his girlfriend, Katie Price.

The attention seeking cage fighter has admitted that he is considering staging the proposal live on air….of course he is….it’s not as if he actually loves her now is it?

Reid told The News Of The World:

“I’m definitely asking her to marry me and I’m convinced she’s going to say YES. I might pop the question on TV.”

“One idea is I make the proposal in front of cameras on the show,” he added. “But whatever happens I know this is right. I’ve never felt this way before.

“I’m convinced Katie’s going to feel the same way. I know what we’re like when we’re together. When I’m with Katie it’s full-on 24/7.

“She ended the Pete chapter of her life in that jungle. Now it’s time for her to start a new fairy tale. But this time I think it it’ll go the distance.”
