Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she will be releasing a nine track EP via iTunes later this month.

The former American Idol winner announced the extended play ‘iTunes Session’ will contain some of her biggest hit singles, as well a festive track and an exclusive interview.

Clarkson’s most recent single ‘Mr Know It All’ will be on the EP, along with ‘You Can’t Win’ and ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ both from her most recent album ‘Stronger.’

New versions of ‘Why Don’t You Try’, ‘Since U Been Gone’ and ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ will also be included, as well as a rendition of ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’.

Pre-orders for the EP opened yesterday, with a release date set for December 27. Kelly’s next single ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ will be released in early 2012.

Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she wrote one of the album tracks on One Direction debut record.

The American Idol winner – who recently performed her own number one single ‘Mr Know It All’ on an X Factor UK results show – is in the middle of a promotional tour in England right now and along with former X Factor winner Matt Cardle, switched on Christmas lights in Regent Street earlier this week.

During her time here, she revealed that one of her self penned tracks will appear on One Direction’s album ‘Up All Night.’

Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: “I’ve got a song on One Direction’s album called ‘Tell Me A Lie’. It’s a really cute song – I love it. I loved that they liked it. They sound really great on it.

“I already have it – I’m so VIP with my copy on my computer! It does sound really good.”

One D’s second single ‘Gotta Be You’ will be released on Sunday November 13, on the same day that the boys will give a live performance of it on The X Factor. Their debut album Up All Night will follow on November 21.

Kelly also revealed that she will be giving a live performance on The X Factor USA also, adding: “I haven’t seen any of it! I’ve been trying to.

“I’m performing on it though! We’ve not settled what song, we’ve just confirmed that I’m doing it.”

Kelly Clarkson has admitted that she may not have succeeded on The X Factor, because she isn’t entertaining enough.

The former American Idol winner – who has clocked up two Grammy Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and a Women’s World Award since winning the first series of the talent show – gave a live performance on The X Factor last night and afterwards, speaking on The Xtra Factor spinoff show confessed that the two formats have a very different focus.

When asked by the presenters, if she would have shone on The X factor back when she was unknown, Kelly confessed:

I don’t know….. I think idol is based more maybe on vocals, so I shined more there. I’m not really concerned with the huge production thing because I don’t want any of it to distract me. Most people who come to see me, come to hear me sing. It’s not like they’re coming to see what I’m wearing or to see the big entertainment, variety thing, so I don’t know how I’d fare.

She added:

Idol was the perfect thing for me, because I’m a singer. I don’t know how I’m famous? I’m not like your typical popstar.

On what she thinks the X Factor team are looking for in a winner, Kelly added:

You think of someone like a Beyonce, that can sing, act and dance. It’s more of an entertainer as well as a singer.

We think Kelly comments point out exactly where The X Factor is going wrong this year. She was amazing when she performer her new single on last night’s live show (watch the video here) and the thought that she would be passed over, for not being outrageous enough kind of sucks.

Maybe if the judges took it back to basics, got rid of the silly acts and concentrated on the real talent, they wouldn’t have lost 2 million of their viewers this series.

Kelly Clarkson performed on ITV’s The X Factor for the first time ever this evening.

The first ever American Idol winner has previously guest mentored and performed on the Dutch version of the reality TV competition and sang on last week’s Australian live show, but has never before graced any of the UK series’.

This evening the brunette beauty took to the stage to give a live performance of her newest single “Mr. Know It All”, the lead track from her fifth album ‘Stronger.’

She emerged onstage in an unflattering gold dress, which did nothing for her curvy figure but thankfully her voice was as amazing as ever. StyleJacking thought she looked like a burst sausage hidden inside a disco ball…

We loved the marching drummers that accompanied Clarkson throughout and the song is as catchy as we have come to expect from the songstress. Kelly has been a long time hater of autotune and she didn’t need a bit of it this evening, as her vocal strength was amazing and her tuning spot on. The acapella section during the second last chorus was especially moving.

Kelly recently revealed that she doesn’t think she ever would have done well, had she entered The X Factor, as she doesn’t think she is ‘captivating’ enough for the controversial show, but instead reminds people of their ‘cousin’ next door.

We can’t help but wonder if Sami Brookes managed to catch some time with Kelly backstage, as earlier this week she admitted that she was beside herself with excitement about meeting her idol and is dying to duet with the star.

We are SOOOOOO excited about this Sunday’s X Factor results show.

Not only will we get the opportunity to laugh at the awful lip syncing on display during the group performance given by the final eleven acts, but there will be some real talent on the stage too!

Following on from last week’s appearance’s by Katy Perry and The Wanted and week one guests Cee Lo Green and Matt Cardle, Bruno Mars – real name Peter Gene Hernandez – will be giving a live performance, though the track he will sing has not yet been confirmed. We wonder if he saw The Risk performing his song ‘Just The Way You Are’ last week and if so, what he made of their rendition?

Also taking to the stage will be former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. She will perform breakup themed song “Mr. Know It All”, the first single from her fifth studio album ‘Stronger.’ The singer is no stranger to the X Factor format, having appeared as a guest mentor on the dutch version in November 2009.

Professor Green – real name Stephen Paul Manderson – will be following up his Xtra Factor appearance last weekend, with a live performance this Sunday. He will perform his latest single ‘Read All About it’ featuring R&B singer Emeli Sandé.

Kelly Clarkson has revealed that the release date of her new album has been pushed back to September 2011.

The singer, who shot to fame when she won the first season of American Idol, and had previously claimed that the record would be on sale from early this year.

In 2010 Clarkson announced via Twitter that her fifth album would probably be released in the beginning of 2011, she added that the lead single will be out in January and that two duets may be on the album. She also revealed the titles of two songs from her album, “You Still Won’t Know What It’s Like” and “You Love Me,” with the former being produced by Jason Halbert who worked on her 2007 single, “Never Again.”

However yesterday Kelly took to Facebook to tell fans:

“I recently found out that my album won’t be coming out until September… the album has been recorded but I can’t release it until then. I realise that is a long time but that’s the best time to release it apparently so I’m sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!”

The album will be produced by produced by Darkchild, best known for producing the Lady Gaga / Beyonce hit single “Telephone.” She also revealed that the record “was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.”

Seven out of the eight American Idol winners returned to the Idol stage last night and performed a tribute to outgoing judge Simon Cowell.

Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen, joined by a gaggle of past contestants gathered on stage to sing Delta Goodrem’s ‘Together We are One.’ The only person missing was season seven winner David Cook, who had to attend a charity event instead.

“Congrats to Lee Dewyze! So sorry I couldn’t be there to see all my fellow idols,” Cook tweeted Wednesday. “I’m there in spirit!”

Season One winner Kelly Clarkson’s Facebook page announced the performance earlier in the day, alerting fans not to miss her performance on the finale tonight. It read:

“Don’t miss Kelly performing tonight on American Idol! She and fellow winner Fantasia will be performing ‘Together We Are One’ as a farewell performance to Simon Cowell.”

After the song, Simon joined the singers on stage and said:

“I didn’t think I would be this emotional but I genuinely am. “I just want to say that it’s great to have this little one (Paula) back and what Paula said is true. The show goes forward and it will be different. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support, the fun and your sense of humour. That has been the best part. Seeing these contestants back, that’s what made the show.”

He continued: “When anyone asks who will replace me, the truth is you guys are the judges of this show and you’ve done an incredible job over the years.”

Cowell added that he will “miss” everybody involved with the show, saying: “Thank you very much indeed. It’s been a blast.”

It is only a few hours until this year’s American Idol finale gets underway and a last minute announcement has revealed that former Idol winners Kelly Clarkson & Fantasia Barrino will be duetting on the results show.

Before we find out whether Lee DeWyze or Crystal Bowersox will take the crown, we’ll be treated to some amazing celebrity performances and along with Kelly and Fantasia, sources also suggest that Christina Aguilera will be singing on the show.

Kelly and Fantasia’s performance will be dedicated to outgoing judge Simon Cowell. Clarkson’s Facebook page announces, “Don’t miss Kelly performing tonight on American Idol! She and fellow winner Fantasia will be performing ‘Together We Are One’ as a farewell performance to Simon Cowell.”

Cowell has previously admitted that Barrino’s Season 3 performance of “Summertime” is his favorite ever “Idol” moment.

Kelly Clarkson has been named as American Idol’s most successful contestant to date.

Carrie Underwood, winner of Idol season 4 may have sold more albums than first ever winner Kelly Clarkson, but Billboard.com have shunted her into second place.

The site report that Kelly has sold 10.6 million albums, 15.9 million tracks and achieved 4.2 million radio plays, while Carrie has shifted 11.5 million albums, 13.9 million singles and enjoyed 2.4 million radio plays since she won Idol in 2005.

In third place is Chris Daughtry, who didn’t even win his season in 2006. The rock singer fronts his own band, Daughtry and has sold 5.7 million albums.

American Idol star Kelly Clarkson has unleashed her fury, after computer hackers managed to release one of her rough demos online.

The track named ‘Cleopatra’ appeared on various file sharing sites recently and was rumoured to be a demo from the Clarkson’s next album.

Writing on her Twitter page, the ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ singer said: “Cleopatra is NOT a song on my next record! It was written for another artist! I have no idea how it leaked, it’s a rough demo, unfinished!

“I’m so tired of disrespecting, lying, sneaky little trolls that pretend to be human.”
