Dancing On Ice pals Kieron Richardson and Danniella Westbrook are planning to recover from the strain of the ice skating show, by taking a trip to Las Vegas.

Kieron, who came third in last night’s final, admitted that their skating partners Brianne Delcourt and Matthew Gonzalez would be joining them too.

Richardson told The Sun:

“Danniella and I have holidays planned – she’s taking me to Las Vegas.

“Brianne is coming as well, along with Danniella’s skating partner Matt. She’s going to show me the town.”

Well it was no shock that Hayley Tamaddon got through to the final two acts on tonight’s Dancing On Ice final but we were a little surprised that Kieron Richardson didn’t advance with her.

The public voted to send Gary Lucy through to skate the Bolero instead of Kieron and while we think that Gary is a slightly better skater than Kieron, Kieron has a certain charm and eagerness that always impressed us and obviously the British public.

Kieron looked slightly teary when he heard the result and after Phillip commented on how hard he had worked on his Bolero routine, he said:

I’ve had the most amazing experience of my life. Brianne is now a friend for life and I hope I’ve done all the crowd from Hollyoaks proud and friends and family.

So now it’s Hayley or Gary to win. Gray can’t possibly do it can he?

Kieron Richardson looked nervous to be skating in tonight’s Dancing On Ice final and he opened the show with his high wire routine. We are still a little surprised that Kieron made the final, he was so shaky during the first few weeks that we never thought he’d get to the halfway point, never mind the final! However, he has definitely been the most improved contestant and even judge Emma Bunton is backing him to win!

Wearing a ‘Caribbean Sky Blue’ costume, Kieron was more graceful in the air than he normally is on the ice and if he just had managed to perfect his landings it would have been an amazing routine.

Judges Comments:

Score: 24.0

Robin: I was very worried in the rehearsal this afternoon, because I thought it was showing off a lot of ungainliness. But somehow tonight you actually delivered a very strong and competent performance. You allowed the shoulders to be in the right place, you delivered a much stronger upper body than you have in the past.

Emma: I’m such a fan. You should be so proud of yourself tonight. You are like a different person from the beginning of this show until now.

Jason: Surprisingly, I was expecting to hate this, and I didn’t. There were moments, particularly off the ice you were great. For me though, some of the transitions coming back down off the ice were awkward and clunky. And they’re the kinds of things I really look for with the flying and the ice – how seamless you can make those transitions appear.

Dancing On Ice judge Emma Bunton has revealed that she is backing Kieron Richardson to win tonight’s final.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirrror, Bunton revealed that she thinks the Hollyoaks actor deserves the title more than Gary Lucy or Hayley Tamaddon.

“Hayley Tamaddon’s been brilliant throughout the entire series,” said the former Spice Girl.

“Gary Lucy is technically the best skater – very secure and confident. But I am still waiting for that outstanding performance from him, that’s what I need from him tonight.

“But, for me, Kieron Richardson deserves it more than anyone else. He’s grown the most and become a very confident performer.”

This was Emma’s first year on the ITV ice skating show and on how she found the experience she said:

“I have been more honest than I suppose I thought I would be. But I am a judge, I have to be honest, otherwise what’s the point? “I’ve absolutely loved working on the show. And it’s been great in terms of hours. As a working mum, I can spend all week with my little boy Beau then work on Sunday evenings.”

Dancing On Ice contestant Kieron Richardson started off in the competition with arms like twigs and legs like a chicken, but now he has muscles in places he didn’t even know he had! The Hollyoaks star has admitted that he plans to keep working out to maintain his new ripped physique and even hopes it will be enough to earn him a place in the Hollyoaks Hunks calendar.

Kieron told The Sun: “I feel a lot stronger now both physically and mentally.

“At the start I took a lot of criticism to heart and got quite upset but now I rise above it.

“My arms are getting bigger by the day. When the show finishes I’ll keep going to the gym.

“It would be quite nice to get my full body in the Hollyoaks males calendar instead of just my face.”

Dancing On Ice stars Gary Lucy and Kieron Richardson will be wearing jewelled thongs on this Sunday night’s final. While Gary is despairing of the addition to his wardrobe, Kieron seems quite fond of his new underwear.

Gary told The Sun: “A beaded thong? I’m not being funny, but what is that all about?

“We’ll be doing the spiral leg-up with a big wince on our faces. It’s wrong on so many levels, a guy wearing a thong.”

But Kieron revealed that he’d flash his thong if he wins on Sunday and added: “I hope we get to keep the jewelled thongs. They are going to be something to play about with at home.”

Kieron Richardson skated to ‘Time Of Your Life’ by Green Day on tonight’s Dancing On Ice and as with the contestants before him, started the routine with a 20 second solo spot.

He began on his knees and rolled into a standing position followed by a backwards glide while bent over. We found this move a little strange and at one point thought he must have put his back out! Funnily enough, all of tonight’s performances were better after the pro skater joined the celebrity, and Kieron’s routine was no different. However, we thought that Kieron was at his strongest tonight and skated with much more confidence than some of his peers. The choreography was strange at times, but all in all, we thought he did a great job.

Judges Comments:

Score: 23.0

Jason: Let’s break it down. The solo spot – I thought you performed it rather ugly. You were doubled over, it was hunched. It’s your arm movements and presentation that really let you down, and a lot of them were just gratuitous and pointless. There was no expression in them. And actually in the death spiral, you weren’t counter-balancing that and giving a continuous line with your free arm.

Karen: We’ve watched you grow not only in strength but in confidence. There was so much in that routine and you were doing some of the hardest things you’ve done so far. You did them with speed and for me, it was one of your best performances.

Dancing On Ice contestant Kieron Richardson is trying to perfect the death spiral with his partner Brianne Delcourt, in a bid to make it past this week’s semi final.

The move has only been done once before on the ITV1 show, by 2007 champion Kyran Bracken and Kieron will need to pull it off perfectly if he wants to make it to the final.

An insider told The Sun: “It’ll be touch and go on Sunday.

He knows if he blows it he can kiss goodbye to his place in the final.”

Dancing On Ice contestant Kieron Richardson has claimed that the judges don’t socialise with contestants behind the scenes of the ITV show.

The Hollyoaks actor said that the lack of interaction helps the judges to stay impartial when scoring each skater.

Speaking to the official Hollyoaks website, Richardson explained: “It’s a bit of a funny one. You don’t really get to interact with the judges that much. If you got close to them they could mark you on a friendship rather than on your performance.

“We don’t really get to speak to the judges really, which is nice, so they do literally judge you on your performance and your performance only.”

Richardson also singled out Emma Bunton as his favourite judge.

He said: “It’s got to be, hasn’t it? I was a massive Spice Girls fan. I even went to see them on their last tour and now, a couple of years later, I’m being judged by one of them on Dancing On Ice, which is quite messed up!”

On tonight’s Dancing On Ice live show, Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson was awarded a mic stand as his performance prop.

Skating to Freddie Mercury’s ‘Great Pretender’, Kieron’s routine may have been a cheesefest but t was fast paced. His speed and ice coverage was great and he was more graceful than we have ever seen before. The routine was a lot of fun, and Kieron deserves props (geddit?) for mimicking some of Mercury’s moves with the microphone.

With a score of 23.0, Kieron achieved his highest mark of the series. Even Jason Gardiner enjoyed his performance, saying that Kieron had really upped his game.
