Kirstie Alley is determined to lose more weight so she can fit into a “22 inch” waist dress.

The actress has lost 60 pounds since competing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ but she is determined to keep going in order to reach her “target weight” so she can wear the tight-fitting Ports 1961 dress when she goes on vacation to Italy in a few weeks.

She told Life and Style magazine: “My goal dress has a waist that’s 22 inches. I tried it on and I can almost zip it up. I’ll be my target size by the time I go on vacation.”

The 60-year-old star, who has battled with her fluctuating size for years, has credited her continuing weight loss to sticking with the gruelling dance routines she had to master on the TV talent show – on which she and her professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy came second behind NFL player Hines Ward and dancer Kym Johnson.

She said: “I’ve been dancing almost every day since the show ended. I like all the Latin dancing. It’s the best exercise and the best cardio.”

Hines Ward has triumped on the 12th season of ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and his professional partner Kym Johnson were shocked when they were awarded the iconic mirror ball trophy, after they competed against fellow finalists Kirstie Alley and Chelsea Kane in the final show which aired last night.

The 35 year old NFL star confessed that he didn’t even expect to make the final stages of the competition, when he first entered, just weeks after being hospitalised for knee surgery.

He said: “Starting this competition, I never thought I’d be in the finals.

“But I have to say, I owe it all to Kym. She is an amazing teacher and I want to thank the judges for giving us the constructive criticism to help me get better each week. Also, I want to thank all the fans who voted for us.”

Kirstie Alley came in second place on last night’s show and claimed that she was delighted to have been given the opportunity to take part, purely so she could lose weight.

The ‘Fat Actress’ star said: “I think it would be fun to show the fans and the judges that my dress is half the size it was in week one. I have a lot more strength and a lot more stamina.”

“It’s like the most extraordinary adventure I’ve ever been on in my life,”

Judge Bruno Tonioli couldn’t praise Kirstie highly enough, claiming she was a “phoenix” on the show’s closing episode.

He said: “A 100-proof cocktail of effervescent fun. Kirstie you’re like a phoenix. You cheating girl, you saved the best for last. Brilliant.”

Carrie Anna Inaba added Hines was great because he had been “consistent” throughout the show.

She said: “Hines, in all honesty, you’re the MVP of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. You’re nothing but consistency and focus. You really dance with heart.”

The penultimate Dancing With The Stars live show aired on ABC last night and saw three hopefuls Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane and Hines Ward battle it out for the glitterball trophy.

Kirstie tried to wow the judges in a black leotard and looked amazing for her 60 years as she strutted her stuff with her hunky partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

However, it was the moves of Disney star Chelsea Kane which really impressed the panel and Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tolioni each awarded her a perfect ten for her scorching samba, before raving about the routine.

NFL player Hines Ward performed well also and earned a respectable 29 out of thirty for his controlled quickstep routine, with graceful and elegant partner Kym Johnson. He was more happy with his perfect thirty for the following freestyle routine though, which had featured a daring grand entrance on a motorbike.

By the end of the show, both Chelsea and Hines were tied at the top of the judges leaderboard with 59 points out of 60, leaving Kirstie and Maksim in third place with 54 points.

Kirstie Alley has admitted that she would be thrilled to win the current season of Dancing with the Stars.

The former Cheers actress will perform against her competitors Chelsea Kane and Hines Ward on tonight’s season finale of the ABC series and speaking on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Alley confessed that she’d like to take the crown.

She said:

“I feel really great, like I was just nominated for an Emmy and now the academy – the public – is going to vote and we will see if I win. I want to win.”

Kirstie also admitted that she is finding the competition much harder now than in earlier weeks, because they now have less time to learn more routines. She added:

“The first week was pudding compared to what’s happening now. We had one dance and two or three weeks to learn one dance, and now we have two hours to learn 17 dances. It’s insane. We are a circus, that’s what we really are.”

Alley also claimed that DWRS will be her last reality TV show, saying:

“I think this is sort of it. I think I’ll hide behind characters from now on and just act. I’m done being real. I don’t like myself real, I like myself fake!”

Alley launched her own semi-scripted reality show, Kirstie Alley’s Big Life in 2010, she has also acted a s a guest judge on NBC’s The Marriage Ref.

Kirstie Alley has admitted that she used to have sex for two hours every day.

The former Cheers actress is currently competing in ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and has been boasting about her marathon romps, but warned they ultimately couldn’t bring happiness to her relationships.

Speaking on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Kirstie said: “I really hadn’t had a boyfriend for the last ten years – a serious boyfriend. It was the best ten years of my life. I had a lot of freedom.

“The way I used to pick guys was so shallow. Hot? OK, that’ll be my husband.

“Here’s my big revelation. I decided that in the best of times you have two hours of sex a day, so you have 22 hours left.”

At this point show host Ellen stopped the former ‘Cheers’ actress to clarify her statement, saying: “Whoa, whoa, what? Two hours a day?”

Kirstie – who has been married twice, to high school sweetheart Bob Alley and actor Parker Stevenson – jokingly replied: “Not enough?”

She later clarified her estimated time spent lovemaking, saying: “There’s the prelude, the sex and there’s the winding down.”

Kirstie is one of the final five dancers remaining on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ competing when the show returns next week.

John Travolta has agreed to help his old pal Kirstie Alley improve her ‘Dancing With the Stars’ moves.

The former ‘Look Who’s Talking’ star has been failing to impress the judges or audience with her moves in recent weeks and her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy has asked the famous ‘Grease’ actor, who named himself the ‘Dance Doctor’ to come and help.

John first told Kirstie that she has to release her “romantic tension” adding that she needs to choose better shoes, after her high heels flew off mid-waltz during her last performance on April 11.

He said: “Let’s try a sneaker. I suggest perhaps a high-top.”

However, dancing guru John’s visit to Kirstie during rehearsals definitely seemed to improve her confidence levels.

She told partner Maksim: “Last week we survived, but I don’t want anyone to have any doubts: I’m in this to win this. I want to be the frontrunner!”

Before performing her raunchy foxtrot to Lenny Kravtiz’s ‘American Woman’ on the show last night (18.04.11), Kirstie admitted she was hoping to “create magic” following her visit from ‘The Dance Doctor’ John.

She joked: “Now that we’ve had a session with ‘The Dance Doctor’, the bad juju is gone and with this dance, we’re going to create magic.”

Earning a score of 23 out of a possible 30 for the routine, judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised the duo for their “bold, ambitious and borderline crazy” take on the foxtrot.

Carrie said: “That was a different take on a foxtrot, but it absolutely suited you. It was bold, it was ambitious, it was a little borderline crazy! You did it – it was magical and I think it was your best dance ever!”

Kirstie Alley has revealed that her pal and former co-star John Travolta may come to the Dancing With The Stars studio to watch her perform.

The actors first became close when they starred in the 1980s movie ‘Look Who’s Talking’ and have went on to become life long friends.

Revealing that John is ‘excited’ to watch her perform, Kirstie told People:

“He’s really excited.”

“I think he will come to the show and watch at some point. I hope. I’ll beg.”

On what advice he offered her, Alley added:

“His main thing was just have fun.

“We always fight. But he’s a great guy… John just dances naturally… John just makes it look easy.”

Kirstie Alley has admitted that she was incredibly “exhilarated” by her appearance on the launch show of Dancing With The Stars.

The former Cheers actress – who is partnered by Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the ABC show – performed for the judges last night and afterwards took to Twitter to tell her followers:

“WOO HOO!!! How fun was that?!??!! Exhilarated !!! (sic)” adding that she “felt like Cinderella” on the dancefloor.

She also messaged Chmerkovskiy, teasing:

“Boo … U are the best in so many ways….. I follow your lead……. First time I ever followed a mans lead in my life …hehe…”

Maksim replied:

“You’ve made me extremely proud tonight! Thank you for your trust and I promise I won’t let you down!!! Great job.”

Kirstie Alley has reportedly signed up for a new reality TV series charting life as a single mum and her battles against weight gain.

The show will air in America on network channel A&E sometime next year.

A&E executive Robert Sharenow told Variety: “Her personal life has been playing out in the media for years, but this will be the first time she’ll be opening up her home to reveal her real life for the cameras.”
