Konnie Huq has revealed that she is expecting her first baby.
The former Xtra Factor host married writer Charlie Brooker last year and admitted at the time that she had been hoping to start a family, but put her plans on hold because she landed a job on Simon Cowell’s X Factor spinoff.
However, she was axed from the ITV2 series earlier this year and replaced with Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, so it seems settling down and having a baby was top of Huq’s to do list.

Stacey Solomon is reportedly being considered as the new host of The Xtra Factor.
The mum of one shot to fame on the 2009 series of The X Factor, when she finished in third place behind Joe McElderry and Olly Murs.
More recently she won ITV’s I’m A Celebrity and landed her first presenting job on their Saturday night entertainment programme, Sing If You Can. Read more & comment »

It’s been a disappointing week for Laura Hamilton.
Not only did she lose out on the Dancing On Ice title last Sunday but now it seems that she is out of the running for the Xtra Factor job too.
The former children’s TV presenter came second on the ITV ice skating series at the weekend – being beaten in the end by Eastenders star Sam Attwater – and previously revealed that presenting the X Factor spin off show would be her dream job.

Konnie Huq has claimed that she will be fronting the Xtra Factor when it returns later this year.
The former Blue Peter host took over presenting the X Factor spinoff show, after Holly Willoughby left to front This Morning with Phillip Schofield. However she faced a backlash from disgruntled viewers after a series of on screen mistakes and a very wooden presenting style.
Insiders reported that Simon Cowell was ready to drop and replace Huq but she told Vanessa Feltz that she is expecting to return.
She said: “I hope to go back to the Xtra Factor.

Konnie Huq has admitted that she isn’t yet sure if she will return to present ‘The Xtra Factor’…..but she hopes she still has a job.
The newly married TV presenter isn’t worried about the criticisms she received for on screen mistakes on ‘The X Factor’ spin-off show last year, but told Star magazine that she probably won’t find out about her future, until the auditions are about to begin.
Huq said:
“Hopefully, I will be back, but I can’t say 100 per cent, you just don’t know what will happen.

Jeff Brazier on ITV's Dancing On Ice
Jeff Brazier has revealed that he would love to take over as presenter of The Xtra Factor.
The X Factor spinoff show – which airs each autumn/winter on ITV2 – was previously fronted by Blue Peter star Konnie Huq, though insiders claim that Simon Cowell is planning to drop her before the series return.

ITV2 Xtra Factor host, Konnie Huq, has revealed that if her ITV and X Factor bosses want her to front the ITV2 companion show again this year, she’d be more than happy to.
However, she added that as changes are being made to the format of The X Factor and Xtra Factor this year, she isn’t sure she will be asked back.
Speaking to the PA, Konnie said, “They’re chopping everything around…
“So as far as I am concerned so far yes [I will be back] but you just don’t know what happens in this weird and wonderful world of TV.”

Konnie Huq has revealed that as far as she is concerned, she WILL be back on The Xtra Factor later this year.
The former Blue Peter star took over presenting the X Factor spinoff show, after Holly Willoughby left to front This Morning with Phillip Schofield.

Dancing On Ice contestant Jeff Brazier has admitted that he wants to replace Konnie Huq on The Xtra Factor.
The presenter currently fronts the X Factor’s nationwide tour and speaks on This Morning each week about the show while it’s on air.
Insiders report that Simon Cowell is looking for a replacement for current host of the spinoff show Konnie Huq, after a series of mistakes and gaffs irritated viewers during the 2010 run.

Our dreams have come true! Konnie Huq is reportedly set to be sacked from The Xtra Factor..
The former ‘Blue Peter’ presenter was brought in to replace Holly Willoughby when she left ITV2 show earlier this year but her wooden presenting style was not popular with viewers and she is said to have angered music mogul Simon Cowell by making a series of embarrassing blunders.
A production source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Simon Cowell hasn’t been impressed and it seems certain she will be axed. Every week there seems to be a new mistake.”
