Former American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, is planning to make the leap across the pond and once again make a crack at the UK music market.
Lambert, who came second to Kris Allen in the 2009 series of the competition, is well-known in the States for flamboyant style and wide-ranging vocals, and hopes that by bringing his talent over here he will become as successful with the British public. Read more & comment »
Speaking to The AP, Lambert, made famous from the hit US talent show in which he came second to Kris Allen in the final, said that he was happy with the influx of singing competitions being added to televised programming, saying:”I think that it’s great that there are shows [like The Voice and The X Factor] out there giving people that platform.” Read more & comment »
Seven out of the eight American Idol winners returned to the Idol stage last night and performed a tribute to outgoing judge Simon Cowell.
Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen, joined by a gaggle of past contestants gathered on stage to sing Delta Goodrem’s ‘Together We are One.’ The only person missing was season seven winner David Cook, who had to attend a charity event instead.
Though their fans may often clash, American Idol stars Kris Allen and Adam Lambert have proved that they are still the best of friends, despite Kris stealing the Idol crown last year.

Outgoing American Idol contestant Katie Stevens has said that she did not mind being compared to former finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. During recent shows Katie chose to sing ‘Feelin’ Good’, which was previously performed by Adam Lambert and ‘Let It Be’ which was covered by 2009 winner Kris Allen.
On her ‘Feelin Good’ rendition Katie told Entertainment Weekly:
“I basically said, ‘I’m going to do this anyway’. It’s a new season, you’re going to be compared to people no matter, so if they were going to compare me to Adam Lambert, they were going to compare me to Adam Lambert.”
American Idol winner Kris Allen led a group of students on a Barefoot Walk at the at the University of Central Arkansas on Thursday.
The event was organised to highlight the plight of Rwanda’s shoeless citizens and the occurrence of a foot disease named Podoconiosis, which is caused by toxins in volcanic soil.

Showing exactly why he won last year’s series of American Idol, Kris Allen made his return to the show last night. He gave a heartfelt and touching performance of the classic track ‘Let It Be.’
