Kylie Minogue will not be judging on The Voice it has been reported, because the fee she demanded was too high.

The new series will launch on BBC in January, with Jessie J as the only confirmed judge to date.

It had been reported yesterday that the publicly funded TV channel offered Australian star Kylie £1 million to join the English star, however she is said to have turned it down unless they could up the sum to £2.5 million.

Insiders told The Sun that bosses could not ok the expenditure, when it’s budgets are being cut from every side and so many of their staff have been laid off.

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am is said to be close to agreeing a deal, and is keen to work on the more credible reality TV show, while insiders say negotiations are also taking place between BBC bigwigs and US star Mary J Blige, as well as Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, Tom Jones, Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Adams.

The names are coming thick and fast!

Yesterday we reported that Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am is reportedly in talks about joining new BBC series The Voice as a celebrity mentor, it has already been revealed that Jessie J will hold one of the four seats and today, it has been claimed that Kylei Minogue is also in discussions to join the panel.

The show will launch in January, and Beeb bosses hope the format will be as popular here as it was in America, when Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine fronted the US version as judges and mentors.

In order to make it worth the millions they spent on securing the show, producers are said to be keen to bring real star power to The Voice and have offered Kylie a whopping £1 million to take part.

It’s a huge sum of money – thought to be almost double what veteran TV star Bruce Forsythe is being paid to host Strictly Come Dancing – but the channel will still be making a saving if the pint sized pop star agrees, as it is thought that she first asked for £2.5 million as her fee.

A BBC source confirmed the figure but told The Sun: ‘We won’t break the bank for anyone.’

The Voice bosses have recently responded to rumours that they have made advances towards Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole, claiming that they won’t be hiring stars connected too closely to rival show The X Factor.

However Kylie has previously acted as a guest mentor and assisted at the judges houses stage on the ITV show, Jessie J worked with Tulisa Contostavlos as she chose her groups for the live rounds last month and Will.i.am has popped up on various occasions, even performing with finalist Cher Lloyd last year.

If Kylie does join the show the move would suggest the BBC is modelling its flagship talent show on its ITV1 rival – the 43-year-old has previously featured on the X Factor as a mentor to sister Dannii, who was a judge on the show until this year.

Dannii Minogue is said to be planning a pop comeback and who better to help her than her ridiculously successful sister, Kylie.

The Australian star has a lot more free time on her hands now that she’s left The X Factor and Kylie told The Sun that she’d love to work with her younger sibling when she returns to her musical roots.

She said:

“We would definitely love to do something together again, or many things in the future.”

The sisters have worked together in the past. They recorded a cover of Abba’s The Winner Takes It All for TV show Beautiful People in 2008 and also duetted during Kylie’s Showgirl tour in 2009, but now the pair are said to be looking seriously at a more formal collaboration.

Kylie added:

“She and I speak the same language – we both have been in showbiz a long time.

“We know the ups and downs of it.”

On which famous person she would most like to meet, Kylie confessed that she would be totally starstruck if she was introduced to Jane Fonda.

She said: “I would be really starstruck. I have friends who are friends with her and they tell me she is just the coolest woman.

“I probably wouldn’t be, but in theory I think I would be because I just idolise people like her – like Dolly Parton, the more mature ladies who have been there, done it, rewritten the rule book.

“They are the kind of chicks I look up to.”

Craig McLachlan has claimed that showbiz sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue may have been the only people who voted for him on Sunday night.

The 45 year old actor starred as Kylie’s on screen brother in Australian soap Neighbours in the 80s and has stayed close to her and her real life sister (and X Factor judge) Dannii ever since.

He was eliminated from Dancing On Ice on Sunday night, after receiving the lowest amount of public votes alongside Elen Riva. But Craig knows that at least two people were on his side.

He told The Sun:

“Kylie and Dannii were madly voting but they were not enough!”

Speaking of Kylie, Craig said: “We are great friends and Dannii and I were madly communicating before Christmas. I have been very busy lately and didn’t have enough time to train on the ice.”

Kylie Minogue has admitted that she preferred the X Factor, when the contestants were allowed to be more real.

The ‘Better Than Today’ songstress is a regular performer on the ITV show and of course her sister Dannii Minogue sits on the judging panel.

Speaking about how the show has changed over the years, Kylie told The Daily Star:

“There’s a noticeable change with what they’ve done with the contestants from the start of the live shows.

“In previous years, they were a bit more… I want to say dorky, but I don’t mean that in a bad way.”

“They were a bit more as they were in real life, less styled and groomed.”

“They’ve definitely all had new looks from the first live show in this series. But it’s different and part of me thinks: ‘Oh, I want them to be more like they were in the auditions.”

Dannii Minogue has “mellowed” since becoming a mother.

The singer-and-TV talent show judge gave birth to Ethan – her first child with partner Chris Smith – July and her sister Kylie Minogue is astonished by how much her sibling has changed with parenthood.

Kylie said: “Having a baby has changed her. She’s mellowed and gone into a zone that’s very deep and I’ve never seen her like that before.

“She’s still hard-nosed and determined, but there’s something that’s changed in her that’s really beautiful to see.”

Kylie – who is in a relationship with Spanish model Andres Velencoso – is unsure if she is able to have children naturally after undergoing treatment for breast cancer in 2005 and admits she feels “wistful” when she spends time with Ethan, though she loves being an aunt.

She added to Britain’s Glamour magazine: “It’s lovely to see Ethan. I look at him wistfully. He’s a beautiful baby. I’ve got my auntie stripes on and I’m ready to go.”

Kylie Minogue has admitted that her little sister Dannii is so honest, that she even criticises her at times.

The ‘Better Than Today’ singer wasn’t surprised when her sibling Dannii Minogue was asked to be a judge on UK TV pop star search show ‘The X Factor’ in 2007 because she has always been willing to give people an honest opinion.

She said: “Dannii is so honest, she’s perfect for ‘X Factor’. Before she was a judge on the show, she would come to my concerts and I always knew I was going to get a real opinion. Like she’d say, ‘Dancers two and five were off.’ She’d give me a list of things.”

Despite being willing to take criticism from her sister, Kylie admitted she can be a diva.

Asked if she ever requested her entourage call her ‘Ms. Minogue’, she told more! magazine: “Oh that’s a no. I need to be more of a diva. I promise I’ve got my diva stripes in other areas. I’ve had every possible hairdo ever.”

Aston tells Buzz: “For her to sing with us is, for me, one of the biggest highlights of our career so far.”

Kylie Minogue has reportedly pleaded with her younger sister Dannii to quit her job on The X Factor.

The Australian singer was said to be shocked by the negativity directed at her sibling when she performed on a recent results show and has told her sister that she doesn’t need to put herself through that sort of awfulness week, after week.

‘Kylie’s noticed that week by week she’s becoming quieter,’ a close pal told Now.

‘She initially put it down to Dannii worrying about her acts and it wasn’t until she went on the show that she put two and two together and realised the tense mood backstage is to blame.’

The source claims that the sisters had a heart to heart, after which Kylie asked Dannii to walk away.

However the insider added: ‘If one of her acts wins, she may reconsider but her sister won’t be happy.

‘The night Kylie performed on the show it was obvious she wasn’t impressed as she was less than her bubbly self on stage talking to Dermot.’
