Louis Walsh has once again launched an attack on The Voice, just weeks before he returns to The X Factor judging panel.
The Irish star is nothing if not loyal and as he prepares for his tenth year on the ITV show, he hit out at it’s biggest rival and insisted that it can’t produce stars like his Simon Cowell led juggernaut.
Leanne Mitchell triumphed on The Voice last year, beating Bo Bruce to the Universal record deal, however the time in between the first series and second has hardly been ideal for the wannabe star.
The 29 year old singer is preparing to release her debut album on 27th May but she’s understandably nervous, after her first single ‘Run To You’ didn’t exactly set the charts on fire, selling just 7,000 copies last June and reaching number 45 in the UK single chart.
Fans of BBC’s The Voice will know that last year – in the show’s first series – singer Leanne Mitchell won and great things were of course expected of her career after the show ended…
However, for what seem to be a multitude of reasons, Leanne’s post-show popularity waned and her career effectively flopped.
And it’s been reported today that The Voice coach Will.i.am blames Leanne for the fact that the show “failed” to ignite the viewer ratings last year. Read more & comment »

And just recently, we reported that an insider at the BBC had claimed that Leanne’s career had failed to take off because she “didn’t work as hard” as fellow 2012 finalists Bo Bruce and Tyler James, and even blamed Leanne for affecting the show’s viewer ratings last year, branding her a “poor advertisement” for the singing contest.

However, her debut single Run to You only managed to get to No45 in the charts, which coach Will.i.am reportedly reckons was the fault of the label for not handling Leanne’s career in an appropriate manner.
