Well that just says it all. Leon Jackson has become the first X Factor winner to fail to get to the number one spot with his debut album.
His album, Right Now, came in at number four behind albums by AC/DC, Kaiser Chiefs and Kings of Leon.
That just goes to show that going away for a year only works if the result and the artist were worth waiting for. Leon obviously wasn’t!

Razorlight frontman, Johnny Borrell has called former X Factor winner, Leon Jackson “insane” for spending ten months working on his new album, ‘Right Now’.

About this time last year Leona had a big X Factor homecoming and we all patted ourselves on the back for choosing such an amazing winner! This year I am just glad that I never once voted for Leon Jackson.
Leon is currently performing his new single ‘Don’t Call This Love on the X Factor. I heard his single a few weeks ago and quite liked it, but without charisma and with tuning issues Leon failed to pull this performance off tonight.
He looked more nervous than some of the final twelve acts and one has to wonder how many times he has actually performed in the last year.
Am I being evil? Did any of you like Leon tonight?

So it seems as though Cowell and Co have not put as much thought into Leon Jackson’s album as they would have us believe. They certainly didn’t hire the world class songwriters that were used on Leona Lewis’ album!
At a recent press conference leon spoke out to defend the amount of covers on his new album.
MSN quote him as saying:
Leon said: “It’s a not a whole jazz record, there’s some acoustic numbers in there as well which I’ve used as some covers. I’ve just tried to breathe new life into them and make them my own.
“When you take a cover that’s what your ultimate achievement is. For instance I took the song Misty Blue which is a Dorothy Moore number, which is an old, old track and the way we’ve done (it) is we’ve really modernised it and that was fun for me to do.”

Simon Cowell is said to be tipping last years X Factor winner, Leon Jackson as the new Robbie Williams. I can’t see it myself!
Leon, 19, told The Daily Star: “Simon is over the moon with my new album and has been saying I’m a cross between Michael Buble and Robbie Williams. I’m like: ‘Calm down, Simon’.

Can I ask all young girls out there to please stop throwing their underwear at X Factor winner, Leon Jackson.
The mere thought of this boy being considered sexy, or worse having sex makes me sick to my stomach.
I plead with you all, please find a more worthy object of desire. I can suggest quite a few if you need any help!

In an interview with the Daily Record, he insisted: “I’m not comparing myself with her, I’m different. It’s fantastic the success she’s had and I’m proud she managed to crack America. But it’s one thing at a time for me and I hope the album launch goes well for me - who knows what’ll happen.”

“Leon was chosen by the popular vote, so how could that be lacking in credibility? Like Pop Idol before it, X Factor is a great opportunity for those with talent to be heard.”
“Leon is very young and will need support from those who have been given the chance to look after him. Not all winners will be to everyone’s taste but I truly believe that Leon has a great future ahead of him.”
