The big X Factor chart battle normally takes place around October / November each year however it looks like there may be another big competition taking place in just a few weeks time.

Former stars of the ITV show Alexandra Burke, Little Mix, Cheryl Cole and Leona Lewis will all reportedly be releasing new music this March and will go head to head in the UK charts before Easter.

Alexandra recently revealed that her new single ‘Elephant’ has been postponed and will be released on March the 11th. It is the third delay to the release date, since Burke departed from Simon Cowell’s record label SYCO last year.

Leona Lewis will be releasing her delayed album Glassheart the same month and there are some rumours that she will also be releasing a second single from the record, despite disappointing sales of her latest effort ‘Collide.’

It has been claimed that ‘Promise This’ hitmaker Cheryl Cole will also premiere a single from her third solo album in March and insiders told The Daily Star that the star is ‘confident’ it will be her best record so far.

Last but not least it has been claimed that SYCO are hoping to rush release Little Mix’s new album this spring, most likely because they know if they leave it much longer people may have forgotten who they are.

Justin Bieber will be performing on the upcoming X Factor USA final it has been confirmed.

The teen sensation recently appeared on the UK version of the show, singing his festive song ‘Mistletoe’ for a screaming ITV audience. This week he’ll hop on over to the American series and perform a track from his Christmas album, though it won’t be live as the appearance was recorded a few weeks ago.

Joining the young singer on the lineup is former X Factor UK winner Leona Lewis, who also performed on the British series finale last week. She showcased her version of Nine Inch Nails’ and Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’ from her new EP. It is expected that she will perform the same song this week.

Also performing over the course of the two final shows will be music legend Stevie Wonder, Pitbull and Ne-Yo and former contestant Drew Ryniewicz.

As part of their last chance to win votes and attempt to win over the American public, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene will each take to the stage for a number of solo performances but on one occasion they will also be joined by a mystery guest for a special duet.

On last week’s UK version the finalists duetted with their mentors, but somehow we don’t see L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell rocking that stage with their vocals.

The X Factor final will take place this Wednesday, December 21st and Thursday, 22nd at 8/7c on Fox in the US.

UK viewers can catch it a day later on Thursday, December 22 at 8.30pm and Friday, December 23 at 8pm on ITV2.

Leona Lewis asked fashion designers to submit a dress for her to wear at the Royal Variety Performance earlier this year and last week, the former X Factor winner wore her special creation.

The ‘Collide’ hitmaker requested that the dress be ethically friendly and revealed that she was hoping to find the next Stella McCartney, who she would be able to work with again in the future.

The winner was chosen by Leona herself, Jo Elvin, UK Glamour Editor and fashion designer William Tempest and in the end the panel picked a design named ‘Radiance of Stars: Glamour for a Femme Fatale’ created by Lilyana Maslenishka of Bulgaria.

Leona wore the gown when she filmed her Royal Variety Performance in Manchester earlier this month and we have to admit, the brunette beauty looked exquisite in the green sparkly dress.

The star performed a cover of Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’, which she also showcased on last week’s X Factor final and will perform later this month on the X Factor USA.

It is taken from her new EP, which also includes versions of ‘Iris’ and ‘Colorblind’.

Well the X Factor final aired last night or the first part of it anyway….which surely makes it the X Factor semi final, but that’s not what ITV are calling it….anyway! As well as the three final acts – Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily and Little Mix – returning to the stage to sing for survival, we were also treated to performances by Michael Buble – it was rather average – Leona Lewis – we liked it but many Johnny Cash fans did not – and a funky mashup courtesy of JLS and One Direction.

The X Factor mentors also got involved in a way that panelists never have before and Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contosatvlos and Kelly Rowland each took to the stage and sang with their last remaining act.

We had been especially looking forward to Marcus and Gary’s collaboration, believing it would blow our socks off, but in the end their version of Always A Woman, while perfectly nice, was probably the most boring duet of the evening.

Tulisa and Little Mix’s Alicia Keys’ mashup was the biggest shock of the night as we are not usually fans of Contostavlos’ waily vocals but last night she shone.

Kelly and Amelia’s high energy duet on River Deep, Mountain High was another mind blowing song. The tassels, the dancing, the connection, the vocal strength,it all added up to make a near perfect performance.

Leona Lewis returned to The X Factor stage tonight, to show this year’s three final acts exactly how it’s done.

The stunning singer won the ITV show back in 2006 and went on to become a multi-platinum selling artist and three time Grammy Award nominee, with her most successful single, “Bleeding Love”, reached number one in over thirty countries around the world.

Now that’s success!

Tonight, promoting the release of her new EP ‘Hurt’, the 26 year old took to the Wembley Arena stage as part of the final show and gave a spine tingling performance of the Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash song of the same name.

Wearing a stunning floor length red gown, Leona started the song with the quietest and most vulnerable sounding vocals we have ever heard…it was almost like a whisper. Lewis set the atmosphere for the dark number brilliantly and as the track built and built we were totally drawn in.

It was a performance on par with Adele’s BRIT Awards stunner and proved just why Leona has gone on to become as popular and acclaimed as she has.

Leona performed the same song for this year’s Royal Variety Performance which will air next week and will also showcase the cover on an upcoming X Factor USA show.

However, her appearance was surrounded by a little bit of controversy, as record labels Warner and Universal are both planning to lodge a complaint with OFCOM, because of the amount of Sony and SYCO acts performing on this weekend’s X Factor final. They singled out Leona particularly for criticism, as she is the only act not currently promoting a new album.

View the original post X Factor 2011 Final: Leona Lewis stuns with ‘Hurt’ (VIDEO) on Unreality TV

All we have heard over the last few days is how all the stars seem to be backing Little Mix to win, well not Leona Lewis. She is throwing her weight firmly behind Marcus Collins.

The former X Factor winner will be performing at tonight’s live show in Wembley Arena and admitted that she is hoping the Liverpudlian singer will triumph tomorrow evening.

She told The Sun:

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend — I’m rooting for Marcus. I love his voice and he’s versatile.

“He puts 100 per cent into the big singing and dancing numbers but I saw one stripped-down performance of him just singing with the piano and it was really emotional. He can do it all.”

Marcus had previously been bookies favourite to win the series, but has since been overtaken by both Little Mix and Amelia Lily, leaving him as the outsider this weekend.

Leona – always having to be nice – had some words of praise for Amelia and the girl group too and added:

“Amelia is good — I like her, and love her hair. Her song choices are cool as well. She tends to go a bit left-field with them.

“Little Mix are good as well — the girls are sweet and I don’t think they’re a conventional girl group. They’re diverse and remind me of Sugababes when they first came out — they feel very fresh.”

The X Factor final will kick off tonight and will contain not only solo performances from the three finalists, but also duets between them and their mentors.

JLS, Leona Lewis, Michael Bublé and One Direction will all perform this evening, with Coldplay and Westlife taking to the stage on Sunday.

Some details of the lineup of tonight’s first part of the X Factor final have been revealed and it has been confirmed that Leona Lewis, Michael Buble, One Direction and JLS will all take to the stage this evening.

While bosses have saved appearances by Coldplay and Westlife for tomorrow night’s live show, this evening Leona Lewis and Michael Buble will deliver solo performances in between the contestants’ efforts, while – as previously reported – JLS and One Direction will team up for a duet of two of their biggest hit singles.

A crowd of around 12,000 will be in Wembley Arena to watch the show and Leona took to Twitter this morning to admit that she is hugely ‘excited’ about taking to the stage.

“So excited to be performing at Wembley tonight on the live XFactor final !!!”

It is thought that Leona will debut a song from her new EP entitled ‘Hurt’ which was released yesterday.

Michael Buble will perform a track from his new Christmas album.

As well as all these celebrity appearances, the remaining three X factor contestants – Marcus Collins, Little Mix and Amelia Lily – will take to the stage to perform a duet with their mentors.

ITV have confirmed that British rockers Coldplay will be performing on the X Factor final next week.

The ‘Fix You’ hitmakers – consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – had previously claimed that they would never appear on the ITV show but must have changed their mind, as it has been reported that they will duet with one of the three finalists on next Sunday’s show.

The grand finale will be staged in Wembley Arena and also in the linup are former show winner Leona Lewis, former runners up JLS and One Direction, along with Canadian crooner Michael Bublé.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin said: “We’re all big X Factor fans so we’re very excited to play live on the show.”

Show judge Gary Barlow added: “This is the biggest final The X Factor has ever done. Being at Wembley Arena for the first time and in front of 10,000 people with Coldplay performing, I can’t wait – it’s going be an amazing night.”

It had previously been reported that Coldplay were being brought on board to duet with Janet Devlin, but now that she’s been voted off we’re not sure who they will be paired with.

Michael Buble will reportedly be singing with Liverpudlian hopeful Marcus Collins, though he’ll be glad that Simon Cowell isn’t on the panel, after recently admitting that the music mogul destroyed his confidence during a previous live performance.

Leona Lewis has announced that the release of her upcoming album ‘Glassheart’ has been delayed.

The former X Factor winner had been scheduled to release her third studio album on November 28th, but instead has decided to keep working on some of it’s tracks and push back it’s release date until the new year.

Lewis took to Twitter to break the news and wrote:

“Just wanted to update everyone on the album! I’m feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording!

“I have a collection of songs that I’m so in love with and I no there’s more to be born so it means the album will come early next year (sic).”

Leona recently released the lead single from ‘Glassheart,’ a collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii, titled “Collide”. It reached top-five in the UK singles charts and became Lewis’ second number 1 in the USA when it rose to number 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs in its seventh week on the chart.

On the album, she has worked with numerous writers and producers including: Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, Ryan Tedder, Fraser T. Smith, Dallas Austin, Rico Love, Naughty Boy and Ne-Yo.

Leona Lewis has been lined up to perform on an X Factor live show later this year, but don’t expect any Rihanna style sexy dance routines from her.

OFCOM received thousands of complaints when Ri-Ri and Christina Aguilera performed on last year’s series, scantily clad and with very raunchy stage shows and today Simon Cowell admitted that bosses have decided to ‘tone down’ the appearances on this year’s run.

That may be why he has asked former X Factor winner Leona Lewis to fill a slot, as she recently insisted that she hates it when performers get too suggestive. She told The Daily Express:

“Personally, I think some people go too far. I don’t really like to see people dancing around a pole or gyrating on a guy every time I go to a concert.”

“I don’t think there is any need for it. I’d rather be something positive, especially to young girls. It’s not something I want to represent and I find it a bit insulting as a woman. There’s a way to be sexy that’s not too blatant.”

Leona is currently promoting her new single ‘Collide’ and upcoming third album Glassheart.
