Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has claimed that the show is no longer about singing and that it is now an entertainment show rather than a singing competition.

Leona won the show three years ago but seems genuinely surprised at how much it has changed in that short time.

The ‘Happy’ singer told The News Of The World:

“It’s more of an entertainment show now. It’s a TV show and they want their entertainment value.

“It’s not just about singing really well any more,”

On how the show has changed since she won three years ago, Leona said:

“When I was on the show in 2006 it was only about the singing. We were lucky if we got some good lights. I can’t believe how much it has changed.

“There are some talented singers still in the mix this year. But it also means some talented people have gone, which is sad.

“I actually thought that Rachel Adedeji and Lucie Jones had the strongest voices out of the girls – and they’ve both gone.”

On the Jedward phenomenon lewis reasoned : “The X Factor now is about THREE things . . . music, singing and entertainment. The Grimes bring just one of those things to the table.

“Everyone knows they aren’t the strongest vocalists, but then there are a lot of people out there who can’t sing and still manage to get record deals.”

Leona Lewis has said that the X Factor has become more intrusive in recent series. She admitted that had the show been so invasive in earlier years, it may have out her off entering.

Leona told Company magazine: “The show is much more intrusive now – you see pictures of people’s families a lot more than when I was on – they seem to dig a bit deeper.”

She continued: “I don’t know if that would have affected my decision to go on, because I am such a private person.”

On what Simon Cowell is like in real life Leona said:

“He’s very powerful and confident on the outside, but I think he’s quite shy really – he gives off a persona and that’s his thing, but it’s almost like a character. That’s why we get along… and we both love animals.”

On the subject of her long term relationship with Lou Al-Chamaa she admitted:

“I don’t see us getting married for a long time yet – you really need to be certain with someone before you get married and, besides, my parents only married about four or five years ago so I just don’t believe you have to get married to be happy together.”

Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis, has revealed that she was recently threw out of a trendy London boutique because of her skin colour.

Leona was shopping with her father Joe a few months ago, when the assistant told them to leave because she “didn’t like the look” of them.

Leona told The People: “I looked at her and asked, ‘Are you joking?’. She was implying that we were trying to steal stuff.”

Leona’s Dad pulled her out of the store before she could call police. She added: “I was crying. Being judged by the colour of your skin is horrible.”

Leona Lewis is a bit vampire obsessed and has revealed that she would LOVE to guest star in vampire drama, True Blood.

“I’m totally mad over shows like ‘True Blood’,” Leona told Sugar magazine. “I’d die if someone asked me to be in something like that. It’d be a dream come true.”

However the former X Factor winner is also partial to vampire movies and admitted to fancying Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) from Twilight.

“I also love films,” Leona added. “I’m obsessed with the Twilight films. Everyone seems to fancy Rob, but I’m definitely Team Taylor! I think he’s really hot.”

Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has admitted that she’d like to become a judge on the show but added that she doesn’t think she would be much good in the role.

During a live online Facebook chat with fans she said: “Maybe. It would be fun… But I don’t know if I’d be a good judge because I’d just say yes and let everyone through. I wouldn’t be able to turn anyone away.”

Lewis releases her new single ‘Happy’ on November 9, followed by her second album Echo on November 16.

Jordin Sparks has revealed that she would love to perform on X Factor.

The former American Idol winner told ‘You Call The Hits’ on The Hits Radio: “We’ve been talking about it. I don’t know if it’s confirmed yet, so if I am it’ll be just as a surprise to you as it is to me.

“But I’m hoping – I’m trying to make that happen because I want to.”

She also wants to duet with former X factor winner Leona Lewis. She added: “I’ve met her a few times, she’s so sweet. For the past year I’ve been wanting to do something with her, so hopefully we’ll be able to make that happen soon.

“I was thinking about a female duet like the Whitney and Mariah thing, but definitely in our own way and our type of music. I would just love to do something like that.

“I don’t know if it’s going to happen now or maybe in a couple of years. I know she’s just finished up her second album which I’m really excited to go grab, so we’ll see what happens.”

Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis, has been asked to perform her new single ‘Happy’ on the ITV talent show.

Leona’s new album, Echo, will be released two weeks after the performance and is expected to reach the top of the album charts.

The man who cruelly attacked Leona Lewis during her book signing this week, has been revealed as a jealous X Factor reject.

Peter Kowalczyk, 26, was arrested soon after the event and his father, Tomasz told The Sun that he has since been sectioned. He added:

“He wants to be a singer.

“He went along and queued at X Factor. How far he got with it? Nowhere.”

The incident has badly affected leoan, resulting in her cancelling a promotional tour of Germany. A friend told the newspaper:

“She is petrified it could happen again. They could have a knife or acid next time. She never really had personal security because she never dreamed anything like this would happen.

“Now she wants a 24-hour security team with plain-clothed guards hidden in the crowd when she goes shopping or out with friends.”
