Hands up who was shocked when, during last night’s episode of The Only Way Is Essex, Mario Falcone finally admitted to cheating on his ex, Lucy Mecklenburgh? Anyone? Us neither!

Fans of the hit ITV2 reality show will know how Mecklenburgh and Falcone’s turbulent relationship had been plagued with rumours, and continually run through the pressure mill with girl after girl coming forward claiming to have had some sort of inappropriate textual relationship with Falcone, for the best part of a year.

There was a surprise visitor to Joey Essex’ new clothes shop during last night’s The Only Way Is Essex in the form of Mario Falcone!

After a month of Twitter rants during which they accused producers and certain members of the cast of staging scenes and lying to dramatize their relationship, Maria Falcone and his on-off-on-again girlfriend, Lucy Mecklenburgh, seemed to vanish from our ITV2 screens.

As more and more stars of The Only Way Is Essex vent their frustrations over how the show is produced, one of its original, and favourite cast members, Mick Norcross, has reportedly quit.

According to the Sun newspaper Mick – who has featured in the hit ITV2 reality show since it first began despite his son, Kirk bowing out for three series’ last year – has not only dramatically walked out on the show, but has also banned any further filming from his Essex nightclub, Sugar Hut.

Last night’s episode of The Only Way Is Essex was unusually uneventful, until the end that is, but with some scenes seemingly much more forced and scripted than ever; we have to ask ourselves have producers gone too far this series?

We have always known that whilst watching The Only Way Is Essex ‘some of what we see has been set up purely for our entertainment’, mainly because Denis Van Outen tells us so at the beginning of every episode, but whilst that usually meant watching a staged slanging match, or Joey Essex try to walk on water, last night saw things go a bit too far.

With the series 8 premier of The Only Way Is Essex only a few days away, ITV2 have released the new cast pictures, with a few missing faces!

The Only Way Is Essex is set to return to our TV sets this Sunday (24/02/13) at 10pm on ITV2, and after a rollercoaster series 7 we can’t wait to see what the gang are up to!

However, the pictures released today don’t seem to show the whole picture….

Last night saw a Halloween special to round up series seven on The Only Way Is Essex, and what a spokatacular affair it was, with break ups, make ups, and more Ricky Rayment hissy fits than you could shake a stick at!

With Jess filming her new music video, Nanny Pat and Carol mulled over how it was probably a really good thing that she and Ricky had split up, when who should wander over, but Ricky!

Considering the huge cliff hanger TOWIE fans were left on after the Lydia, Lucy, Joey and Kirk in the hot tub scenario at the end of last Sundays episode, we were surprised when it wasn’t mentioned once in last night’s instalment of The Only Way Is Essex, but there was a whole lot of other drama to entertain us!

One thing that was discussed from Sunday’s episode was the Arg and Gemma situation. Chatting with Diags, Arg confirmed that nothing indeed did happen when the busty blonde drove him home following their discussion about whether they should be together, with Arg commenting: “I got in the car with her. She was like naaa! I can’t believe it she actually turned me down. Sometimes in my head I think were made for each other.”

So last night saw another jam-packed episode of The Only Way Is Essex, and what an episode it was!

It looked rather dubious at the start, with the focus on Kirk and Joey playing a rather poor game of golf whilst Kirk declared he wants to find the love of his life, commenting: “I’ve had enough of messing around with girls, you know what I mean? I like naturally pretty girls.”
