Dancing On ice: Lisa Scott Lee Wants Steps Reunion

Dancing On Ice 2007

Fresh from the rink of ITV’s Dancing On ice, Lisa Scott Lee has revealed that she would love Steps to reunite as Take That have done and hopefully Boyzone won’t.

Speaking to the Sunday People Lisa stated:

“I would definitely welcome a Steps reunion and follow in the footsteps of Take That.

“We’ve all kept in touch, so I’d love it if we could get back together.”

Lisa Scott Lee Leaves Dancing On Ice

Another reality TV shocker! I bet most of the UK were betting on Emily Symons leaving Dancing On Ice tonight. After a few trips on the ice both his week and last, I assumed that Emily would at least be in the skate off. And lets be honest if that had happened, what judge would have saved her?

However Emily made it through to next week without facing the skate off, she left that priveledge to Duncan James and Lisa Scott Lee.

Once again I wrongly assumed that Duncan James would be leaving, even though I think he is the superior skater. What I like about the men in this show is that they can skate independently. The girls lean a lot on their partner and I noticed this more than ever tonight when Emily and Lisa were skating.

Both Lisa and Duncan skated much better second time round, but 4 out of 5 judges saved Duncan and Lisa looked gutted to leave. From this week on it will get harder and harder to chose a winner. Well after Emily goes!

TAKE THAT Live Dancing On Ice

I can’t believe it! the boys are popping up on all my favourite shows. First the X Factor and now Dancing On Ice!

Reality TV mixed with my all time favourite band….what could be better.

Take That have been lined up to perform live on next weeks Dancing On Ice show. It is said that both Clare Buckfield and Lisa Scott Lee are incredibly nervous at the prospect of meeting the boys…if they can’t manage it I wonder if I could step into their shoes…..what a thought!

Dancing On Ice 2007: Lisa Scott Lee To WOW In Knee High Boots!

Dancing On Ice

Lisa Scott Lee is set to wow audiences on Saturday night when she makes an appearance on the ice in knee high boots.

The singer, 30, said: “We’ve got a red hot routine — it’s very sexy. We reckon it should go on after the watershed.”

I have seen a massive improvement in Lisa week on week and I hope she goes far in the competition, she’s a real natural!

Stephen Gately and Kristina Cousins Leave Dancing on Ice

Dancing On Ice

The competition is opened each week with world famous Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean giving us a sensational routine followed by manoeuvres expected that night from the competitors.

Tonight the required element was the ‘assisted jump’ with both feet raised from the ground

The performances have become very daring and exciting with each couple introducing more courageous manoeuvres each week and the gap between professional and celebrity becoming less noticeable.

Kyran Bracken and Melanie Lambert with the thousand ruby stoned dress, stole the show and took first place. They kept us on the edge of our seats and holding our breaths as they flawlessly went through their very dangerous routine earning 26 out of 30 points. Read more & comment »

Dancing On Ice 2007: Lisa Scott-Lee Bans Mum From Watching Show

Former Steps Star, Lisa Scott-Lee has banned her mum from watching her performance on tonights Dancing On Ice in case she ends up falling or being dropped.

Lisa is set to do a move called The Sweep Of Death with her partner Matt Evers. The stunt will see Lisa, 31, being lifted above 28-year-old Matt’s shoulders and then swept head-first by the arms around his body.

The routine is particularly scary for the popster as she is terrified of heights and frightened about being dropped.

She said: “My mum will have a fit when she sees it.

“I’ve just got to trust in Matt and myself that I can do it.

“I really want to show the judges I am capable of doing this stuff.

Dancing On Ice 2007: Lisa Scott-Lee Almost Gets Arrested

On Saturday, whilst rehearsing for her routine for ITV’s Dancing On Ice, Lisa Scott-Lee decided to take advantage of the fact that the studio was based in the same complex as the Big Brother house and set and tried to shout a hello to her former bandmate, Ian H Watkins.

She ran into trouble however when Big Bro security guards thought she was a crazed fan and almost phoned the policve.

A source told the Daily Star: “Lisa thought it was only a bit of harmless fun. She didn’t realise she was going to get into trouble.

“The security guards are under strict orders not to let anything affect the Big Brother house. They saw her as an intruder. Lisa was terrified she was going to get arrested and miss out on last night’s show.

“All she wanted to do was to go and give Ian a few comforting words after seeing him in tears on Celebrity Big Brother earlier in the week.

“She’s like his big sister but the security guards weren’t aware of who she was.

“Lisa was furious. But she was glad to get her skates on and get back to the Dancing On Ice studios.

Dancing On Ice 2007: Profile Of Lisa Scott-Lee

Lisa Michelle Scott-Lee (born 5 November 1975 in St Asaph, Denbighshire, Wales) is a Welsh singer.

A graduate of the Italia Conti Academy stage school, she is best known for her five years with one of the most successful UK pop groups of all time, Steps.

Career story

Steps (1997-2001)

Scott-Lee is best known for her five years with one of the most successful UK pop groups of all time, Steps. The group, which came together in 1997 and had 14 top 10 singles in the UK, split up at the end of 2001. The band went on to sell over 10 million records in the years they spent together[citation needed].

Early solo projects and career (2002-2004)

She spent a short time managing her three younger brothers, including Andy in a group of their own called 3SL, but after little success they were dropped from their label, and split up.

Deciding she would go solo, Scott-Lee was signed to Mercury Records and stepped back into the limelight in April 2003 for her first single, Lately, a song which she wrote. The single was released on 12 May 2003 and pulled into the singles chart at a respectable number 6.

On 8 September 2003 she released her second single (also written by her), “Too Far Gone”, which entered the charts at number 11.

Mercury parted company with Lisa when they feared her success may be limited, she was left without a record company and as a result her album, Unleashed, was cancelled, although promotional samplers had already been released.

Scott-Lee went on to be featured in the Girls of FHM music video for “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” in the summer of 2004, all the while preparing to release a new single.

The single, Get It On, was a collaboration between Intenso Project and herself. At the time the song was created they had yet to score a record deal for the song and were forced to self-fund the video. Eventually Ministry of Sound picked the song (just the song, not them as a group or Scott-Lee as a solo act) up and it was released on 28 November 2004. Despite numerous personal appearances and various promotion events the song charted at number 23.

Totally Scott-Lee (2005)

In the summer of 2005, it was revealed that a camera crew from MTV had been following Scott-Lee for nearly a year, tracking her life, and those of her husband (Johnny Shentall of Hear’Say), her brother (Andy Scott-Lee), manager (Nathan Moore), and her brother’s girlfriend Michelle Heaton (of Liberty X). The show was to be the UK version of Newlyweds.

As time passed more information was revealed. The show, penned Totally Scott-Lee, originally Scott-Lee Unlimited, was to follow Scott-Lee on her effort to put her career back on track. The challenge of the show was that she had to score a top ten hit with her next single, or she would be forced to quit the music industry. [1]

She was signed to a small record label, Concept Records, and began recording songs for her next single. Concept chose “Electric” and starting making plans for its release. The single had to be released on 10 October 2005 in order to meet with deadlines for the MTV show.

The female head of Concept Records has gone on record (on the show and in private) several times saying that she was against the record being released on this date. [2] One of the main reasons for this was that it would have very little promotion time (5 weeks as opposed to the usual 8-10 weeks).

The song was released and, despite a television show backing her, it failed to reach the top ten, as “Electric” charted at number 13.

Other “highlights” of the show include Scott-Lee’s brother Andy proposing to his then-girlfriend Michelle Heaton in a restaurant, the constant arguments between her and her family. The show was controversial and attracted widespread criticisms. The show has recently started screening in foreign markets.

Further solo career plans (2005-2006)

Following the failure of Electric to achieve its targeted top 10 position, Scott-Lee’s solo career was facing a major dilemma - what to do next. Record labels in Japan, Australia, Germany and South Africa were interested in her, so it was announced she was going to release Electric in those countries.

In December 2005, she leaked the song “Boy on the Dancefloor”, a song from her unreleased album, on her website as a Christmas gift to her fans for supporting her. The MP3 download came with this note “Merry Xmas from Lisa and all of the LSL team, we hope you love this free Xmas gift and have a great time singing and dancing along.”

In February 2006, she won three Naomi Awards: Worst British Female Solo Artist, Worst Pop Act and Worst British Single (Electric).

On Lisa’s official web site it is announced that her first full length solo album will be called Never or Now. All that has been officially confirmed is that the UK version will be different to the international version. It’s not known which countries have decided to release Never or Now.

Lisa and Nathan parted ways in May 2006. Scott-Lee also parted ways with her Australian management, Williamson Management.

In Australia, “Electric” spent two weeks in the Top 100, but failed to chart in the Top 40. She went to South Africa and Germany to promote the single, but did not go to Australia. Despite the failure to chart, the album will be released in Australia.

On 1 October 2006, it was announced that she will be “starting to film a great new TV show for mainstream TV” on her official website, details of the show were soon leaked as the second series of ITV’s “Dancing On Ice”, although this was not officially confirmed until late December 2006. Lisa’s participation in “Dancing On Ice” will begin January 20th 2007.

On 28 November 2006, her official site was updated with the release date of Never or Now and is due to be out in South Africa and Benelux to buy in February 2007, with a UK package planned to follow later in the year.

A song entitled “Home” was registered with ASCAP which was writen by Lisa herself & Timothy Kellet (who also co-produced “Make It Last Forever” one of the b-sides to Electric) it is unconfirmed whether this track will appear on the album.

Has recorded a cover version of Boris Gardner’s seminal classic “I Want to Wake Up With You” which is due to be featured in the up coming TV series The Koala Detectives.

Personal life

She is a quarter Chinese by her grandfather.

Her husband is the former Steps dancer and Hear’Say singer, Johnny Shentall.

Scott-Lee is a long-serving ambassador of the charity Mencap.
