Liza Minnelli is reportedly being considered as a replacement for Alesha Dixon on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing judging panel.

A source told The Mirror: “Alesha got off to a very shaky start but did improve. Despite this, her future is believed to be hanging by a thread.

“Liza has international appeal and real star billing. She is a singer and dancer, and Hollywood through and through. Her experience in the showbiz industry would be a real coup – plus she has the personality to match.”

Producers have not made their final decision yet and are also said to be considering a five judge panel which would allow both Dixon and Minnelli to appear on the show.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is reported to have caused some friction between the two daughters of Judy Garland.

Judy starred in the original movie version of the Wizard of Oz and as he begins his search for Dorothy on BBC, Andrew is said to have asked Liza Minnelli to join his judging panel.

However in making this request Lloyd Webber is said to have offended Liza’s 56-year-old half-sister Lorna Luft.

‘Andrew thinks Liza will bring glamour to the judging panel,’ a source told The Daily Mail.

‘But it hasn’t gone down well with Lorna. She hates the fact that she’s always in Liza’s shadow.’
