Apprentice candidate, Lorraine Tighe has admitted that she “looked horrific” whilst appearing on the TVshow.

Lorraine, who often looked like she needed a good old wash, says that she felt overshadowed by her fellow female competitors.

“I was alongside a group of particularly pretty girls… All the girls were slim, lovely and well turned out. Then there was me,” she told The News Of The World.

“Kate [Walsh] would go to bed every night in her makeup so she looked groomed the next day, and Debra [Barr] would wear £1,000 Armani dresses. I felt like I was trapped in a beauty pageant. I was way out of my depth.”

The 36-year-old added that comments about her appearance had been “upsetting” and “devastating”, admitting: “My self-esteem went through the floor. I was literally crying all the time.”

Tighe has now had a complete makeover and lost two stone since appearing on the show.

“On The Apprentice I looked horrific,” she said. “Next to all those other gorgeous girls, I was definitely a one out of 10 woman. Now I’m a 10 out of 10. I can’t believe it.”

Well I wouldn’t go that far Lorraine!

Lorraine Tighe has revealed that she wishes she had never appeared on BBC’s Apprentice TV show.

Lorraine said that her appearance on the show has upset her family and ruined her reputation.

She told the Lancashire Evening Post: “My family never signed up for a reality television show. They live in a small town in Ireland and from their point of view it has ruined their reputation there.

“If I had my chance again, there is no way I would do it again. The whole experience has been a very tough lesson for me to learn.”

She added: “I have no experience working with the media and I just hope that anyone thinking of taking on The Apprentice next year thinks about it.

“I was the cannon fodder this year and I am sure next year there will be someone just like me.”

Tighe also complained about the show’s editing saying that the show implied she was “all about gut instinct”.

“I was disappointed at that because I am a professional person and I think I came across as Mystic Meg rather than someone with a lot of experience in business,” she said.

Tonight’s Apprentice show had to be the best of the series so far. I love to watch the candidates squirm under the pressure of the four part interview and every year there is serious fall out from this phase of the process.

Although Sir Alan sacked three candidates before next week’s final, the big loser tonight was without doubt James McQuillan. James was almost mocked by each of Sir Alan’s advisors. They branded him as immature and it didn’t help that he littered his interview with Karen full of Willy Wonka references. Claude said his CV was full of jibberish, and the line of the night had to be James description of his last job as:

‘I put a leash on people who spunk money up the wall.’

The fact that he sold himself by saying that Sir Alan should hire him because:

I can bring ignorance to the table

just proves how much the village idiot he really is.

Lorraine’s big downfall tonight was the fact that she talked an abundance of crap to her interviewers, rambling on about her powers of mind reading. If the mother of two really could tell what people were thinking surely she would wash her hair or choose a less ridiculous colour of lipstick before venturing out of the house.

Debra impressed the interviewers with her composure and intelligent responses to their questions however the fact that her co-workers and former bosses described her as:

‘rude, foul mouthed and ignorant. ‘

and

‘very aggressive and rude, people either love her or hate her, most people hate her.’

raised serious concerns about her ability to function within a team environment. When Sir Alan fired her he admitted that it may have been a huge mistake but he didn’t feel that she was yet ready or mature enough for the challenges he would expect her to face.

So next weeks final will see Kate and Yasmina go head to head. Given that Yas lied about her turnover and profits and wasn’t too worried about the prospect of making her mother homeless should her restaurant go under, I can’t see her winning……can you?

Howard Ebison was sacked from The Apprentice last night but instead of taking responsibility, he has blamed Lorraine Tighe for his departure.

Howard was sacked after his team lost last night’s TV selling challenge and Sir Alan branded him ordinary and unwilling to take a risk.

He told The Sun: “I’m mortified that I went instead of Lorraine.

“I was so surprised Sir Alan chose me – I was absolutely certain he was going to sack her. She deserved to go.”

Howard went on: “She’s much too unpredictable. I’ve been a much more successful candidate and I’ve performed better on a lot more tasks. I haven’t done any of the things that she’s been accused of, such as alienating people. But now I’m just another candidate who underestimated Lorraine and lost out in the boardroom.”

I am beginning to wonder why Sir Alan continues to suffer Lorraine and lets her escape sacking time and again. Are there any Lorraine fans out there willing to defend her?

You would imagine that since Apprentice candidate Lorraine Tighe has two children of her own, she would be able to work a buggy. But apparently not!

The mother-of-two is project manager for tonight’s task, in which the teams pick two baby products then attempt to sell them at a baby fair in London’s Earl’s Court.

As Lorraine struggles trying to collapse a buggy, Sir Alan’s aide Nick Hewer quips: “This pushchair looks to me like the most complicated thing when in fact of course, when done properly it is the simplest thing with a great selling point – she is making a complete Horlicks of it!”

To add insult to injury, Looraine doesn’t notice an identical buggy being sold for less on a competing stand, and Ignite teammate Kate whispers to Howard: “I can’t believe she didn’t ask if anyone else would be selling it!”

Howard isn’t devastated though. He says: “Do you know what though? At least if we lose we’ve got a reason.”

He added: “There is no point in us demonstrating to anyone because we just look like idiots.

“We just don’t look professional when people ask how you recline it and then they have to show us.”

The Apprentice airs tonight at 9pm on BBC1.

The News Of The World is running with a shocking story today, claiming that Apprentice candidate Lorraine Tighe is a swinger.

Shocking not because of the actual swinging, but more because there is more than one person in the world who would bed the long faced depressing one.

Lorraine admitted to pals that even her boyfriend told her that she was the most plain woman he had ever been with and a friend of mine recently compared her to the female equivalent of Channel 4 comedian, Alan Carr, which I thought was particularly insightful.

On The Apprentice: You’re Fired last Wednesday a panel member compared Lorraine to the dementors from the Harry Potter movies. Dementors are soul sucking creatures who sense and feed on the positive emotions, happiness and good memories of human beings. Sound familiar? Would you want a threesome with that? Scary biscuits!

OMG!!! Sir Alan Sugar appeared on The One Show tonight saying that this years bunch of Apprentice candidates are his best yet, but to me they look like a bunch of bumbling idiots.

Their first task consisted of Sir Alan providing them with a van and some cleaning materials (all of which they paid for out of their budget). They then had to clean some stuff and make as much money as they could in just one day.

The girls in particular astounded me by trying to charge £300 to clean three cars! When the customer pointed out that his current cleaner does the job for £60, Mona Lewis told him he was wrong and basically implied that he was a liar. They landed the contract in the end but after dropping their price dramatically they then had to summon their customer to help them work the pressure washer.

The boys, to their credit, landed a contract to clean 30 minicabs, but would only be paid for the ones which passed the customers inspection. There seemed to be way too many of them trying to clean at the same time, they took one and a half hours to clean their first car and even then they were forgetting to clean roofs, backs of seats and other pretty obvious spots.

In the end Ignite (the girls team) took £357, they spent £196.45 and so made a profit of £160.55. Empire (the boys team) took £347, spent £107.39 and so made a profit of just over £239. So the boys won, but really not through any great margin and not because of any great planning or talent. I can only hope that this bunch get better with practice!

Since then she has gone on to be the top sales person in every company she has ever worked for and admires Victoria Beckham for being equally resourceful when doubted for having “not much talent”. Talkative Lorraine admits to having very little education and has endured many trials and tribulations throughout her life. She sums up her attitude to business as the ability to drive a dead horse to the winning line.

She says: “I’ve fought against all the odds. I’m a single mum with no education and I’ve had a very hard time. It is tough, but to have the confidence I have I should be very proud of myself.”
