It seems that Simon Cowell is in talks with US broadcasting network Fox to launch a US version of the X Factor, and he wants Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh to head up the show, according to The Sun.
An ‘insider’ is quoted in the paper as saying, “Simon is really keen on bringing the X Factor to America as it has been such a hit in the UK.
“And he is convinced that the yanks will love Cheryl and Louis.
“He’s made no secret of the fact that he wants to expand his TV interests around the world and this is one of the first big ideas he’s got… Read more & comment »
Simon Cowell has confirmed rumours that X Factor judge Louis Walsh has had his teeth done, in preparation for the new series of the show.
However the procedure hasn’t been quite the success Louis hoped, Simon told GMTV:
“Louis had his teeth done. No, I’m being serious! He went to my dentist, it hasn’t been the success he was hoping because where as I use a white chart, he used a grey chart and I’m being serious his teeth are straight but they are grey!”
Pop Princess Kylie Minogue is a girl after my own heart. She has lashed out at X Factor judge Louis Walsh this week and called his jibes at her sister Dannii “pathetic.” Well we all know that wit and quick thinking are not Louis’ strong points!
“I think it makes it [hard] for her when she gets Louis Walsh’s rather pathetic jibes – one of which is she hasn’t had a hit record,” she told Elle.
“That’s not true. He has no idea where she’s come from. No idea. And neither does England. And that’s quite hard.
X Factor judge, Louis Walsh, is said to be demanding £1.3 million to remain on the judging panel on the show this year.
The Sun reports that Walsh is currently earning £800,000 per series, but sees himself as such an integral part of the show that he wants to almost double his wage.
An insider said: “It may sound like a lot of money but that’s how Louis sees his market value.
X Factor judge, Louis Walsh has said that he intends to make runners up JLS as big as Westlife, here’s hoping he can do it without albums worth of croony ballads.
“There’s no question about it,” Walsh told the Daily Star. “These boys will have a career in the music industry. They are going to be without doubt the biggest band we have ever had on this show.”
Dannii Minogue on the other hand compared the boys to Take That.
X Factor judge, Louis Walsh has revealed the Christmas songs that the final three acts will be singing in tomorrow night’s final show.
In an interview with RTE radio Louis said:
"Alexandra is going to do ‘Silent Night’, the boys are gonna do ‘Oh Holy Night’ or ‘Last Christmas’, and Eoghan is going to do the Wizard song, ‘I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day’," he said.
X Factor band, JLS have revealed that they think they ended up in the bottom two acts last Saturday because of the sparring between their mentor Louis Walsh and fellow judge Dannii Minogue.
Louis attacked Danni for supposedly stealing JLS’ song leaving the Aussie singer in tears, JLS believe that people were angry with Louis and didn’t vote for them as a result.
Before Rachel came on stage, Dannii couldn’t introduce her because she was so upset and I’m not really sure why?
Louis Walsh did have a bit of a go at her about stealing JLS’ song, but really she should be used to him being a sniping little moan. She had first pick of songs, she chose the best song for her act, she did what she is being paid to do.
X factor judge Louis Walsh has revealed that he thinks Simon Cowell’s ex girlfriend Terri Seymour was much to good for him.
Walsh told Now Magazine:
‘I always thought she was too good for Simon. She’s a great girl and far too nice for him. I love her to bits.
‘Something about Simon attracts mad, crazy women. He’s surrounded by very beautiful, but crazy women – and he loves them like that.’ (Could he be referring to Sinitta?)
There’s been plenty of debate about Louis Walsh and his decision to knock Laura White out of The X Factor last Saturday. He’s been tactically voting throughout the competition – he knocked Austin Drage out, then Laura – both strong contenders in the competition.
Many people – myself included – believe that Louis’s tactical voting is ruining the show.
Louis Walsh has a history of knocking talented acts out of the competition to suit his own needs – he sacrificed Maria Lawson a few years ago to save The Conway Sisters. It later transpired that he knew their family personally, and Sharon Osbourne rightly called him out with a comment about the Irish Mafia.
And isn’t it interesting that within a couple of weeks, both Louis and Simon had whittled their acts down to just one each? I said a few weeks ago that it was strangely co-incidental that Louis should be so bad with girl groups, yet be holding auditions for a girl group of his own.
Anyway, aside from his voting, the constant references to Westlife (is there a week in this series where Louis hasn’t mentioned them?), and his childish sniping at Simon are showing him up as being thoroughly unprofessional.
So, having said all that, should Louis be sacked?
Should Louis Walsh be sacked from The X Factor?
Yes, his tactical voting is forcing good acts out of the competition. (61%, 1,462 Votes)
No, Louis is a great judge and needs to stay (25%, 608 Votes)
Don't care, there are other judges I'd rather see leave. (14%, 335 Votes)
Total Voters: 2,403

(By the way, more than 30,000 people have signed a petition to say that Laura White was robbed when Louis chose to vote her out last week. Have your say here.)
Louis Walsh has defended the decision to vote off X Factor star Laura White after the judges faced a backlash from viewers last night.
Laura was voted off after being in the bottom two after the public vote. She competed against Ruth Lorenzo in the showdown, with Walsh’s deciding vote seeing her leave the competition.
Louis was booed by the studio audience as he discussed his decision on ITV2’s Xtra Factor, but he insisted that the public voters were to blame for the result.
X Factor presenter, Dermot O’Leary, has been forced to apologise to judge Louis Walsh after making various ‘camp’ jibes to him on Saturday night’s show.
Louis was rumoured to be furious with Dermot after Saturday night’s show and gave him a right rollicking backstage.
An insider told the The Sun: “Dermot was really shocked by how badly Louis reacted, he never meant to be insulting. He was being matey and jokey.
