The paper states that Louis fears his credibility will be damaged by choosing another underdog act this year for his final four. Which category he will be mentoring hasn’t yet been revealed.

A show source said, “Louis means business, but in the end the producers got their way and one of his finalists is a bit more outlandish than he would have liked.”

Long serving X Factor judge, Louis Walsh, has revealed that he thought new judge Tulisa Contostavlos was going to be a “little chav”.

However, once he’d met her, Louis was reporteldy “pleasantly surprised” to find that she didn’t have the attitude of a diva hip hop star.

He said, “She’s everything I thought she wasn’t going to be.

“I thought she was going to be a nightmare – lots of tattoos, rapping all the time, hoodies, all the bad things that I hate.

“I never knew about The N-Dubz and I was expecting this little chav in a tracksuit, full of tattoos, doing rap…

“Instead, this really nice girl turned up. She’s very honest and very down-to-earth.

“She’s more honest than anyone else on the show.”

Louis has even been learning new “street” words from Tulisa, and has bonded with her over their shared Irish roots.

He added to heat magazine, “She calls me ‘Muffin’ – I don’t know why. She speaks a different language to me and has all these ‘street’ sayings.

“But her mum is Irish, so we have a little bond there.

“She’s the girl-next-door who glams up and then goes home and puts on her tracksuit.”

Louis – who was joined on the panel by an all-new line up of Tulisa, Take That star Gary Barlow and former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland this year – also praised the judging line up this year, saying he feels they are the most honest yet.

He added, “They are more credible than our previous judges and they’re not afraid to say it how it is.

“They’re not just trying to be liked by the people. They can have a great disagreement on screen, but they don’t take it off camera.”

During a recent round of auditions in Manchester, one of the hopefuls confessed that he’s once come close to killing judge Louis Walsh!

Hopeful Neville Bradley revealed, “Me and my dad were once driving around Dublin and we almost ran Louis over.’’

This prompted much laughter on the judges’ bench, with Gary retorting, “A lot of people try to do that to Louis!”

After it was revealed that all charges against Louis Walsh had been dropped – and the man who made indecent assault allegations was being charged by police – the X Factor judge received a standing ovation from the audience at yesterday’s auditions.

The Sun reports that Louis was “close to tears” as the 5,000 audience members cheered, clapped and chanted his name.

Clearly relieved to have been exonerated, Louis said, “I’m delighted. It is great to be here and get on with the show again.”

One member of the audience said, “There was a lot of love for him among the crowd. He was really moved.”

Jobless Leonard Watters wasarrested on Tuesday after retracting his allegation of indecent assault against Louis. You can read about that here.

Earlier today, Simon Cowell said he was “100%” behind Louis’ bid to clear his name following the accusation, and now as well as Cheryl Cole and Sharon Osbourne saying much the same, Mary Byrne told The Sun, “I don’t believe it, not with Mr Walsh – he’s too much of a gentleman.”

Shane Lynch of Boyzone added, “I’d rather not comment – I don’t want to make anything of a matter that doesn’t exist.”

After the reported event, Louis filmed a segment for Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show, but it seems he wasn’t overly affected by the claim made by a 24 year old dad.

One audience member said, “He didn’t look too bothered to be honest – but he wasn’t smiley and mischievous.”

Last night the alleged victim was still refusing to comment, but police are expected to question staff at the Russell Court and Krystle before they speak to Louis.

A police source said, “An investigation is ongoing.”

Simon Cowell has revealed to The Sun newspaper that he’s backing X Factor judge Louis Walsh “100%” over yesterday’s reported allegation that Walsh indecently assaulted a man in toilets at a night club, which Louis denies.

Simon told the paper, “I don’t believe for a second these allegations are true.”

Louis denies molesting a 24-year-old male in Dublin after a recent Westlife gig, and he told the paper, “I’m devastated by these completely unfounded and malicious allegations.

“Anyone who knows me knows this is all a pack of lies. I won’t take this lying down.”

Which is potentially what he said… Sorry, couldn’t resist!

The Sun reported yesterday that the man in question had told police that Louis groped his private parts in a nightclub toilet, but Louis refuted the man’s story and said the Westlife band members could help to prove his innocence.

He said, “Westlife were there. The whole band witnessed how I behaved. There was nothing untoward at all.”

Louis then described the accuser as “a chancer” and added, “I am shocked by these allegations against me but I am going to fight to clear my name.

“I don’t even know who this guy is, just that he’s a sick, nasty person.

“I have instructed lawyers and I am not going to let this guy get away with peddling lies about me.

“No one who knows me believes this story. I have had hundreds of messages of support, which means so much.

“This is not fair on my friends, family or artists I work with – especially when I have had no formal contact from the police to put these allegations to me. I will fight this all the way.

“I will happily co-operate fully with the police and am 100 per cent confident that after a full investigation I will be fully exonerated.

“The allegations made against me are wholly false and with no foundation.”

Simon added, “I have known Louis Walsh for 20 years and I don’t believe for a second that these allegations are true.

“I feel very sorry for him. I’ve spoken to him today and he is really upset. It’s horrible.

“Like all of his close friends I will support him 100 per cent.”

While speaking on LBC 97.3 this morning, Louis took the opportunity to stress that last Sunday’s sing-off between Mary Byrne and Cher Lloyd was not fixed so that Cher would remain on the show.

He said, “I’m furious about the rumours because it’s all untrue, it is all untrue.

“I can understand why people are angry but I’m Mary’s mentor.

“I wanted her to make the final but I knew I was in trouble, I so knew I was in trouble on Saturday night.”

And when asked if he thought Mary would’ve stayed in the competition if only the phone votes were taken into account, Louis replied, “I don’t know. We never get the vote until after the series.

“We get them after the final. I don’t know. I honestly don’t know…

“I was hoping that Dannii [Minogue] might have given her the chance to do that, but Dannii just thought she was doing the right thing by picking Cher.

“I wanted Mary in the final, but I knew I was in trouble…

“I was canvassing for votes all week and I was doing lots of press stuff.”

While addressing the change in format on Sunday – last year, the semi-final vote was based only on phone votes, not the judges votes – Louis added, “Simon Cowell knows how to make a TV show…

“And every week he wants to change something. It’s never predictable, it’s never like it was the year before.

“Some weeks there might be two eliminations. Even with putting in the wildcards.

“That was the problem because we had 16 people this year instead of 12. We have four people in the final this week.

“It was never going to be like any other year. There’s nothing fixed…

“Simon might be a lot of things but he doesn’t fix the show.

“He might be arrogant and pompous and vain and all that, but he doesn’t fix the show.”

Dannii’s first baby is due this summer, so Dannii will be absent from at least the first stages of this year’s show.

Louis told the paper, “I don’t see why she shouldn’t be back.”

He added, “I don’t know who else is back [this year]. I presume Simon and Cheryl will be there, and maybe Dannii will..

“She worked really hard last year. I don’t see why she shouldn’t be back once the baby is born.”

The Daily Star has revealed that all four of the X Factor judges use code names to book hotel rooms, in a bid to stop crazy fans tormenting them.

Cheryl is known as Miss Coco after her favourite designer Coco Chanel, Simon is known as General Mills, Dannii’s secret name is Pussy Jones and Louis calls himself Captain Fang after he splashed out thousands of pounds on teeth whitening treatments.

A source said: “We’ve had occasions in the past where fans find out what hotel they’re at and call up asking to be put through to Simon or Cheryl and making a pest of themselves.

“Some made naughty suggestive comments or thought they might be able to sway the judges ahead of their audition.

“To put a stop to all that nonsense, they use fake names now.”

X Factor judge Louis Walsh will be back on the show this year and if reports are to believed, he will be sporting a new set of gnashers when he appears.

Simon Cowell has been trying to convince Louis to have his teeth done for years and until now Walsh has resisted.

However all that has changed and a show source told The Sun: “Yes, Louis has had his teeth done.

“He is very much looking forward to showing them off – though there is no way he was ever going to go as white as Simon.”

During the last series of The X Factor all of the finalists were sent for teeth whitening.

The source joked: “Dental hygiene and pristine teeth are two subjects close to Simon’s heart.”
