The Daily Star has revealed that all four of the X Factor judges use code names to book hotel rooms, in a bid to stop crazy fans tormenting them.

Cheryl is known as Miss Coco after her favourite designer Coco Chanel, Simon is known as General Mills, Dannii’s secret name is Pussy Jones and Louis calls himself Captain Fang after he splashed out thousands of pounds on teeth whitening treatments.

A source said: “We’ve had occasions in the past where fans find out what hotel they’re at and call up asking to be put through to Simon or Cheryl and making a pest of themselves.

“Some made naughty suggestive comments or thought they might be able to sway the judges ahead of their audition.

“To put a stop to all that nonsense, they use fake names now.”

X Factor judge Louis Walsh will be back on the show this year and if reports are to believed, he will be sporting a new set of gnashers when he appears.

Simon Cowell has been trying to convince Louis to have his teeth done for years and until now Walsh has resisted.

However all that has changed and a show source told The Sun: “Yes, Louis has had his teeth done.

“He is very much looking forward to showing them off – though there is no way he was ever going to go as white as Simon.”

During the last series of The X Factor all of the finalists were sent for teeth whitening.

The source joked: “Dental hygiene and pristine teeth are two subjects close to Simon’s heart.”

First of all can we just have a big cheer for the X Factor which returns next week. This is Unreality TV’s big TV show of the year, and one which we get scarily addicted to! So bye bye social life from August until Christmas!

Now to the point of this story.

Word is that new judge, Cheryl Cole, and old favourite (?) Louis Walsh, are locked in a battle over who gets to mentor the groups category in this years series.

A source on The X Factor, told The Daily Star: “There are a few bands which are really hot this year.

“Louis and Cheryl think if they get them, they can win. They’ve been dropping hints.”

Of course, the choice actually falls to producers of the show, so neither Cheryl or Louis will be able to force this issue, but isn’t nice to hear that there are some good groups lined up for 2008. Traditionally the groups category is often the weakest in the X Factor, generally there are one or two good groups per series and then a load of fillers, who everyone knows have no chance of winning.

We have had enough solo winners, here’s hoping we get a group X Factor champion this Christmas!

After weeks of Simon Cowell being blamed on artificially forming X Factor groups out of solo contestants, it will emerge on tonights X Factor bootcamp show that Irish twerp Louis Walsh was actually behind the move.

Tonight we will see Louis saying:

“I think we’ve thrown away the seven or eight girls and boys that are very very good and I think we should give them a lifeline. I think we should give them a chance of putting a group together.

Simon is dismissive saying, “it won’t work. It’s impossible.” “You’re not physic,” challenges Louis. “If we give them a small chance it might work. If I was them I would love this opportunity.” But Simon is still not convinced. “It won’t work – I’m putting it on record now, it will not work. I want to see every ‘maybe’ I’m not putting any no’s in.” As the rejected contestants leave, the judges have kept behind the ones they believe still have potential. Simon tells the stunned contestants “I’m not saying this is good news cos I don’t think it is.” A jubilant Louis cuts in. “I think there’s some talent in this room and you should think about putting a group or groups together and auditioning tomorrow with the other groups. You’ve only got 24 hours to do it but if you really care, if you really want it, you can do it. Don’t let me down! It’s my idea to prove Simon wrong.”

Simon is full of doom and gloom, telling the cameras, “this experiment will fall flat in his face. It will go completely wrong, Louis rabbits on that we can’t lose talent but all that’s going to happen is he’s going to prolong the pain. Well of course I’ll have to pick up the pieces when it all goes wrong and say guess what, fairytales don’t come true.” Will Simon or Louis be proved right?

On tomorrow nights show you will see Dawn Gerrard, 24 from Cheshire walk into the auditions and it looks like Louis and Sharon are already on the verge of losing it.

As Dawn tries her hardest to sing, despite her quiet voice, Sharon and Louis are left laughing their heads off at the desk, and Simon is not happy with their unprofessional behaviour and demands that the naughty pair leave the audition room. So Sharon and Louis skulk off, laughing their heads off all the way, “will you both please shut up” bellows Simon after them, and as the mischievous duo head back to their dressing room they are so distracted Sharon smacks her head on a doorframe!

As the Manchester auditions draw to a close, spirits are low and the judges have had to deal with lots of disgruntled and angry contestants. The last contestant to audition is 67 year old retired gardener Johnny Rocco. Will Johnny be the man to give the judges something to smile about?

Johnny has been playing the pubs and clubs for years and believes now is his time to make it big. “I’ll make Louis Walsh kiss my feet,” Johnny proclaims before going in to face the judges. Singing Always on My Mind by Elvis, Louis can’t help himself from laughing. “You’re a great entertainer but you’re a pub entertainer.”

Johnny is incredulous at this news. “Noooo you’re joking, I’ve been offered work in Ireland, I’ve been offered work in Spain, I’ve worked in Majorca. Seriously, I can sing.” Louis firmly tells Johnny it’s a no which infuriates Mr Rocco who has a menacing glint in his eye. He growls, “I can’t believe it. I’ve got to say this, you’re talking stupid. Telling me I’m a pub singer? You don’t know what you’re on about. Well remember this before I go. Remember the name Johnny Rocco.” Sharon comments that Johnny sounds like a hit man for the mafia. Johnny then proceeds to point his finger closely at Louis and give him what sounds like a death threat in the style of an Italian Godfather. Louis is visibly shocked but is unsure whether to take it seriously. Sharon says “you were messing with the mafia there.” If Louis isn’t quaking in his boots by now, Simon ramps up the fear factor, saying “he’s just given you a death threat. That was a sign to the mafia worldwide to kill you.” Will Louis live to see another day after turning away this particular contestant?

X Factor judges, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh have criticised Britney Spears comeback appearance on the MTV awards this week and agreed that she would never make it to the finals of the X Factor.

Cowell told The Sun newspaper: “If I had been looking after Britney I’d have taken one look at her in rehearsals and I wouldn’t have allowed her on stage.

“It would have been worth pulling her off the bill – no matter what the cost – to save any chance she had of resurrecting her career. She wasn’t ready for that show in every possible way.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judge added: “The song wasn’t right, the image wasn’t right and she just wasn’t rehearsed. If she had turned up and given that performance at the X Factor auditions then I wouldn’t have put her through to the next round.

“The problem she has now is that she could have killed her career. It’s difficult to come back from that performance, for a while at least.”

Fellow X Factor judge, Louis Walsh agreed, commenting: “Britney wouldn’t make it through one audition of X Factor because she can’t sing live.”

Former X Factor winner, Shayne Ward has slammed Simon Cowell’s decision to sack Louis Walhs from the show earlier this year. Shayne thinks that the show would have flopped without him, but strongly denies any rumour of a PR stunt.

“Louis’s sacking was 100 per cent genuine. They wanted something new so they thought they’d try new judges and change around the set, and Louis did get axed – I know because he was gutted,” Shayne told the Manchester Evening News.

“But now that he’s back, it’s great – the show wouldn’t have worked without him. He’s done it for three years with Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell and it was a winning formula.”

Louis Walsh has claimed the credit for the fantastic X Factor ratings this weekend, when a record 9.5 million viewers tuned in to watch him being rehired for the show.

“Well, I wouldn’t want to say, ‘I told you so’ but I think nearly 11 million people is a fair indication that Simon should never have sacked me,” Louis told The Sun. “He thinks it’s all about him, of course, but I think deep down inside he knows it’s me the viewers really love.

“Seriously, it’s a great achievement and I’m so proud for everyone.”

Louis Walsh has spoken out about why Brian Friedman left the X Factor judging panel this month.

Brian’s departure ensured Louis’ return to the show after he had been publicly sacked.

He told Heat: “(Sharon) was telling me that there was just no chemistry between Brian and the rest of them. You know how we tease each other? There was none of that apparently.

“I watched a bit of him (on Grease Is The Word) and I have to say I didn’t think the British public would get him. That’s all I can say.”

The outspoken Irishman also revealed that he has yet to meet Friedman, saying: “I hear he’s the creative director, but I don’t know what that is exactly, and I’ve never met him or spoken to him and that’s fine.”
