“I wasn’t sure how I was going to react when I first met him. I thought I might end up putting my hair in bunches, and scratching myself – that’s when you can tell I really like a boy, I start twiddling my hair, and I do it with him, I think. He’s so tall and strong and I come up to his knees, but occasionally he’ll look down and smile at me.”

Grant Bovey - Hell's Kitchen

Marco Pierre White’s American Show Axed

Hell's Kitchen: Marco Pierre White

Marco Pierre White thought he was going to be as popular in America as Gordon Ramsay or Simon Cowell, unfortunately it doesn’t look like things are going to plan.

Marco launched a new reality TV show ‘Chopping Block’ on US TV network NBC just three weeks ago. The show performed so badly that it has been cancelled and will be replaced in the schedule by repeats of Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

This must irk for Pierre White especially after Fox announced this week that it was ordering new series of both Gordon Ramsays shows Hell’s Kitchen USA and Kitchen Nightmares USA.

‘Marco and Angus never got on and now Angus has been axed from the show,’ a source told the newspaper.

They added: ‘He [Angus] is seething but Granada realised they basically had to choose between him and Marco. At the end of the day, Marco’s the star of the show and the bigger personality.’

Marco Pierre White In US Reality TV Show: ‘The Chopping Block’

Hell’s Kitchen: Marco Pierre White

Hell’s Kitchen chef, Marco Pierre White is to follow in the footsteps of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and launch his own American reality TV show.

Variety.com reports:

“Chopping Block,” to be exec produced by David Barbour and Julian Cress, will feature would-be chefs competing as couples in a bid to win their own restaurant.

The eight couples chosen for the series will be split into two teams, with each team assigned side-by-side restaurant spaces in Manhattan. They’ll then be charged with reality-style tasks, such as designing the space and generating buzz for their establishments.

A panel of judges will evaluate the contenders’ efforts. Professional food critics will review the restaurants and render a verdict the next morning.

One couple from the worst-performing eatery will be sent home each week.

NBC reality chief Craig Plestis said snagging White was key because the chef gives the show “credibility times 25,” as well as the larger-than-life personality so vital in reality TV. Read more & comment »
