Max Clifford says Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy are “as close as ever”

Despite rumours of a split between X Factor guru Simon Cowell and his fiancé Mezhgan Hussainy, publicist Max Clifford claims the coupla are “as close as ever”.

Clifford made his remarks while appearing on This Morning.

He said, “I spoke to Simon yesterday, he’s in LA launching X Factor over there and he said, ‘Who is the mystery girl as I haven’t met her and I don’t know her’.

“The same journalist wrote a few weeks ago that he had dinner with Cheryl Cole and he never did. So it’s consistent!”

And when asked if Simon and Mezghan were actively planning their wedding, Clifford replied, “Well I don’t know about planning a wedding – I think you might have to wait 20 years for Simon to plan a wedding but they are as close as they’ve ever been.” Read more & comment »

Max Clifford thinks Kerry Katona is ‘her own worst enemy’

It seems that Max Clifford isn’t buying Kerry Katona’s earlier statement any more than we are.

The PR guru used to work with the troubled reality TV star and wasn’t shocked when CAN Associates severed all ties with his former client, as he did a few years ago. Judging by his comments, he doesn’t buy her claims that it was her decision to leave either.

X Factor USA: Max Clifford claims Simon Cowell still has ’100% faith’ in Cheryl Cole and wants her back!

Max Clifford has shed some light on the whole X Factor / Cheryl Cole situation.

The former Girls Aloud star was hired for the new American series, sacked two weeks ago and then reportedly asked to return over the weekend.

The PR guru has been an advisor to show boss Simon Cowell for the last decade and speaking on This Morning, he claimed that his client has always been supportive of Cheryl Cole and wants her back on the panel ofhis new show.

The rumour mill has been working overtime this weekend, with everyone offering a theory as to why Dannii Minogue really left the X factor.

She claims it was because the new audition schedule for the ITV show, clashed with her filming work on Australia’s Got Talent and in a statement said it was her decision to leave. However, other ‘sources’ have insisted that Simon Cowell pushed her out, because he wanted a new and fresh judging panel for the revamped series.

Max Clifford: ‘Rape case should be a wake up call to Jack Tweed’

PR guru Max Clifford has said that Jack Tweed’s recent court case should be a “wake-up call” for the star. Earlier this week a jury took just 15 minutes to clear Tweed of raping a 19-year-old girl.

Clifford represented Tweed’s late wife Jade Goody before her death and says that he warned the 22 year old about potential problems after she passed away.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Clifford commented: “This court case is the ultimate wake-up call. I told him around the time of Jade’s death there would be lots of potential problems to do with people using him for their own ends.

PR guru Max Clifford has claimed that X Factor’s John and Edward Grimes could earn millions of pounds if they are managed correctly.

“If they play their cards right and have someone looking after them, who knows?” he told the Daily Star. “They could earn millions in the next few years. No-one from The X Factor has got into TV before so they could have that niche for themselves.

“But it’s really important that they have someone behind them who knows what to do, someone like Claire Powell, who’s done a good job with Peter Andre.”
