Mel B took to the X factor stage in Australia this week, to show contestants just why Simon Cowell had hired her as a judge for the series.

She and her fellow judges all performed snippets of songs they have previously released but hers was, by far, the worst performance.

Guy Sebastian was impressive while singing ‘Who’s That Girl’, Natalie Bassingthwaighte gave a smooth vocal performance of ‘Someday Soon’ and Ronan Keating showcased his unique and husky voice when he sang ‘Lovin Each Day’ – he even broke out his trusty guitar for the occasion!

However, Mel B brought the whole thing down a few notches when she crooned ‘Who Do You Think You Are.’

She was never famous for her beautiful singing voice, in fact it is well known that only Mel C could really sing in the Spice Girls, and that was made more than obvious on last week’s X Factor Australia live show.

One person more annoyed than most by the poor vocal performance was show reject Luke O’Dell.

He is furious that she has been allowed to slate so many performers, while being distinctly untalented in that department herself. He told The Sun:

“She told a lot of people they were terrible and made them cry.

“There are no words to describe her performance. She was just talking.”

Mel B has thanked her husband for being so supportive of her during her recent pregancy.

The former Spice Girl, 36, gave birth to her third child Madison, on September 2, after what turned out to be a longer than average pregnancy and admitted that this is the first time she feels that she has gotten the whole thing right.

The singer, who was recently announced as a judge on the Australian X Factor series, admits that the births of her other daughters Phoenix Chi – who she had with with Jimmy Gulzar – and four-year-old Angel – whose dad is Eddie Murphy – weren’t ideal but thinks she has finally cracked the parenthood thing.

She told Hello:

“I had a rocky marriage with Phoenix’s dad. The relationship with Angel’s dad was over halfway through the pregnancy, and I had to suck it up and get on with it.”

“This time I’ve done it with my partner — someone to get excited by every scan — and it feels like I’ve finally done it right.”

Mel didn’t find labour too difficult wither and says that she laughed her way through the entire thing, adding:

“Five big chuckles and she was out!”

Mel B has settled on a name for her new baby daughter.

The X Factor Australia judge gave birth to the infant last week and has confirmed that the little girl will be named Madison Brown Belafonte.

It was reported that the former Spice Girl started having strong labour pains last Thursday and was rushed to LA’s Cedars-Sinai Hospital by her husband Stephen Belafonte and a member of their security team.

RadarOnline reported Mel’s name choice, which apparently means “son of the mighty warrior”.

Mel B has two other children, Angel, 4 and Phoenix, 12, while Belafonte has one daughter from a previous relationship.

It was recently reported that Mel’s former Spice Girls bandmate Melanie Chisolm will join her at the X Factor judges houses stage, where she’ll choose three lucky acts to progress to the live shows.

Mel B has signed up as a new X Factor judge on the Australian version of the TV talent show and insiders say she’ll be taking an old pal along to help her out.

The former Spice Girl recently gave birth to her third child, but won’t enjoy an elongated maternity leave, as within weeks, she’ll be heading back to Australia to continue work on the reality TV series.

Before returning to Oz however, Mel B will be joined by her former bandmate Mel C in her LA home, where the pair will choose three final acts who will go on to compete on the live shows.

The pair will listen to a number of contestants perform again for them in America and will choose the lucky trio, based on their song choices and vocal skill.

In a post on Twitter, Mel C revealed the news writing:

“Hello all. Thexfactor_au (Australia) is well under way. I’ll be helping out my old band mate OfficialMelB 13-15th Sept.”

Melanie Chisholm is currently promoting her fifth solo album The Sea. Made under her own independent record label Red Girl Records, the album marks her first new material in four years, since the reunion with the Spice Girls and giving birth to her first child.

We reported last night that Mel B was in labour and today, she announced that she has given birth to her third child.

The former Spice Girl singer had a baby girl yesterday, after her husband Stephen Belafonte and a member of their security team rushed her to LA’s Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

She is also mum to Phoenix Chi, 12 and 4-year-old Angel.

A spokesperson for Mel revealed:

“This evening Melanie Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte welcomed their new baby girl in Los Angeles. This is the first child for Mel and Stephen and both mum and baby are happy, healthy and doing well.”

Confirming the news on Twitter, Mel B wrote: “Finally our baby arrives,Stephen nearly passed out,Phoenix screamed, I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!! She is just sooo amazing!! (sic)”

Mel B had expected to have the infant last month, and speaking recently to Hello magazine she claimed that she couldn’t “wait to meet this baby”.

“The whole family is beside themselves. Both Phoenix and Angel arrived six weeks early. I’ve never been this pregnant before,” she added.

Mel B has gone into labour it has been reported.

It has been reported that the former Spice Girl started experiencing contractions early this morning and was rushed to the hospital by her husband, Stephen Belafonte.

Photographers saw the singers hunched in pain as she was escorted to a waiting car by her partner and a member of their security team and it is expected that she will give birth to her third child in the coming hours.

It won’t be a minute too early either, as Mel was complaining earlier today about the long lasting pregnancy and the fact that it is causing problems with her sleep pattern.

She took to Twitter to write:

“can’t sleep arrrhhhh!!!! gonna go to my kitchen and eat, that always helps!!!

“@Stephenthinks1 is cooking me chicken and greens, i have the best hubby EVER!! (sic)”

Mel previously admitted that she was ready to give birth days ago and has been trying every trick in the book to bring on labour.

The new X Factor Australia judge – who already has daughters Phoenix, 12, and Angel, four, from previous relationships – said: “I’ve just had my doctor on the phone … It’s coming out this week, one way or another.
“Ideally I want it to come naturally, but I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried the hot food, the running, the sex and violence. I’ve tried it all. And it just seems to be stuck and hibernating in there getting bigger and bigger, so it’s coming out this week for sure.”

Mel, who’s pregnant with her third child, said, “I don’t care much for the other judges. Ronan thinks he knows it all and Natalie is just too nice – and really dishonest.

“Guy could just be boring, like, ‘Get on with it. Keep moving brother.’”

Mel, who was of course dubbed Scary Spice during her time with the Spice Girls, has also told her fellow judges that she’s the only “b***h” allowed on the show.

She said, “There’s only room for one b***h and that’s me.”

But despite slating her fellow judges, Mel also revealed that she’s enjoying the show more than she expected to.

In an interview with Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, she added, “What can I say, it’s been interesting. Long days, may I say?

“We have definitely captured some amazing talent. And also some very strange, funny, and quirky, talent, if you can call it that!).

“Who’d a thought telling people they were terrible could be so much fun?!?

“Can’t wait for you guys to see what fun and chaos we created at the ‘X Factor’ auditions.”

Simon Cowell hired Mel B so that she could stir up some trouble on the Australian X Factor series, and it seems that she has taken to the role like a duck to water.

The former Spice Girl has only just started auditioning hopefuls for the series which will soon launch in Oz and already she’s revealed that she has little time for her fellow panellists – Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian.

Mel is currently residing in Los Angeles and is heavily pregnant with her third child, and speaking in an interview with The Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, she explained why she doesn’t get along with the other judges.

The feisty singer said:

“I don’t care much for the other judges.

“Ronan thinks he knows it all and Natalie is just too nice – and really dishonest. Guy could just be boring, like ‘Get on with it. Keep moving, brother’.”

She added: “There’s only room for one bitch and that is me. They [the contestants] are either going to love me or hate me. Sometimes I can be tactful and sometimes not. It depends on the mood I’m in.”

Bassingthwaighte hit back at Mel, saying that if she was serious in her comments, she ‘deserves a slap!’

She told a Sydney radio show: “I think it’s in fun. I hope so otherwise she deserves a slap!”

Mel B was seen waddling around LA this week, with a huge bump, in even huger heels!

The former Spice Girl was meeting Simon Cowell about her upcoming stint as a judge on his Australian version of The X Factor and modelled a brightly coloured scarf around her belly and silver strappy platform stilettos.

She may only be a month off giving birth to her third child, but Mel is not yet prepared to compromise on her fashion and took to Twitter to tell followers:

‘Even though I’m waddling when I walk, I can’t give up wearing my Laboutin (sic) heels just yet!!!!! off to my meeting!!’

After meeting the music mogul about her new TV role, she added:

‘Just had a great Simon Cowell meeting,I love that guy!!’

Mel will join the Australian show, due to launch in September and will take her seat at the judging table alongside Boyzone’s Ronan Keating and singer songwriter Guy Sebastian.

She also caused controversy on Twitter this week by posting a comment reading:

My husband @Stephenthinks1 is fast alseep,I think I may date rape him!!!

People quickly complained, saying that she was making light of a serious subject. She was later forced to respond:

Sorry for the “date rape comment” I did not mean to offend anyone at all my sincere apologies!!

Mel B has revealed that she is bringing Scary Spice back for the Australian X Factor series.

The former Spice Girls singer has joined the judging panel of the Oz show and started auditioning hopefuls this month.

She seems to consider herself as quite the Simon Cowell figure and yesterday wrote on her official website:

“Who’d a thought telling people they were terrible would be so much fun?!? Can’t wait for you guys to see what fun and chaos we created at the X Factor auditions.”

“It sucks cuz you have to see it to believe it! But one thing I can say is you will NOT be disappointed.”

“Scary Spice came out in full effect!”
