Well the X Factor final aired last night or the first part of it anyway….which surely makes it the X Factor semi final, but that’s not what ITV are calling it….anyway! As well as the three final acts – Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily and Little Mix – returning to the stage to sing for survival, we were also treated to performances by Michael Buble – it was rather average – Leona Lewis – we liked it but many Johnny Cash fans did not – and a funky mashup courtesy of JLS and One Direction.

The X Factor mentors also got involved in a way that panelists never have before and Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contosatvlos and Kelly Rowland each took to the stage and sang with their last remaining act.

We had been especially looking forward to Marcus and Gary’s collaboration, believing it would blow our socks off, but in the end their version of Always A Woman, while perfectly nice, was probably the most boring duet of the evening.

Tulisa and Little Mix’s Alicia Keys’ mashup was the biggest shock of the night as we are not usually fans of Contostavlos’ waily vocals but last night she shone.

Kelly and Amelia’s high energy duet on River Deep, Mountain High was another mind blowing song. The tassels, the dancing, the connection, the vocal strength,it all added up to make a near perfect performance.

Michael Buble is back….again! He has performed on The X Factor more than many of the show’s former contestants and tonight he returned to the ITV show, for yet another live performance.

The Canadian singer is a favourite of show boss Simon Cowell and this evening he took to the stage in Wembley Arena, as part of the first show of this X Factor final weekend and belted out….

The hunky star was there to promote his fifth studio album, which has a bit of a festive theme. Simply titled ‘Christmas’ the record contains some of Michael’s favourite holiday tracks and it has already been a very successful release in America, rising to number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 album sales chart a few weeks ago.

From the album, he chose to showcase a rendition of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Mariah Carey.

We actually quite enjoyed Michael’s performance and it was so much better than his recent Children In Need Rocks appearance. He never quite blows our socks off but all in all, it got us in the festive spirit so job done we suppose.

Some details of the lineup of tonight’s first part of the X Factor final have been revealed and it has been confirmed that Leona Lewis, Michael Buble, One Direction and JLS will all take to the stage this evening.

While bosses have saved appearances by Coldplay and Westlife for tomorrow night’s live show, this evening Leona Lewis and Michael Buble will deliver solo performances in between the contestants’ efforts, while – as previously reported – JLS and One Direction will team up for a duet of two of their biggest hit singles.

A crowd of around 12,000 will be in Wembley Arena to watch the show and Leona took to Twitter this morning to admit that she is hugely ‘excited’ about taking to the stage.

“So excited to be performing at Wembley tonight on the live XFactor final !!!”

It is thought that Leona will debut a song from her new EP entitled ‘Hurt’ which was released yesterday.

Michael Buble will perform a track from his new Christmas album.

As well as all these celebrity appearances, the remaining three X factor contestants – Marcus Collins, Little Mix and Amelia Lily – will take to the stage to perform a duet with their mentors.

ITV have confirmed that British rockers Coldplay will be performing on the X Factor final next week.

The ‘Fix You’ hitmakers – consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – had previously claimed that they would never appear on the ITV show but must have changed their mind, as it has been reported that they will duet with one of the three finalists on next Sunday’s show.

The grand finale will be staged in Wembley Arena and also in the linup are former show winner Leona Lewis, former runners up JLS and One Direction, along with Canadian crooner Michael Bublé.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin said: “We’re all big X Factor fans so we’re very excited to play live on the show.”

Show judge Gary Barlow added: “This is the biggest final The X Factor has ever done. Being at Wembley Arena for the first time and in front of 10,000 people with Coldplay performing, I can’t wait – it’s going be an amazing night.”

It had previously been reported that Coldplay were being brought on board to duet with Janet Devlin, but now that she’s been voted off we’re not sure who they will be paired with.

Michael Buble will reportedly be singing with Liverpudlian hopeful Marcus Collins, though he’ll be glad that Simon Cowell isn’t on the panel, after recently admitting that the music mogul destroyed his confidence during a previous live performance.

Michael Buble has performed on The X Factor more times than some of the show’s contestants, but the crooner has admitted that he has always had a bit of beef with show boss Simon Cowell.

The Canadian star claims that the music mogul once destroyed his confidence on stage, after he rolled his eyes while Michael sang on American Idol. The star was performing ‘Call Me Irresponsible’ on the hit Fox talent show, when he saw Cowell give the bored expression and it was enough to shake him to the core.

Buble told The Radio Times:

“I had to sing Call Me Irresponsible in front of 20million people.

“And the first thing I saw when I got on stage was Simon. I sang about four lines and he looked at me and did this [he rolls his eyes] and that was it, I was done. It killed me. My confidence dropped.”

Michael was so upset about the incident, that during a later performance on ITV’s X Factor he confided in Dannii Minogue, who then sat alongside Simon on the panel. The Australian star went straight to her boss, asking for an explanation. Michael explained:

“I told her the story. She goes and tells him, and comes back saying, ‘The man didn’t even know he did it’.

“He was just probably sitting on his fifth hour of the show going, ‘Kill me now… and I’ve got to go to the bathroom’.

“But I’m so sensitive I took it as a rejection.”

Now before you all start attacking us, we really are big Michael Bublé fans but tonight, he was really quite pants.

The Canadian singer took to the stage in the Manchester Evening News Arena for the annual Children In Need Rocks concert but his tuning was not up to his usual standard at all.

The newly wed performed his hit single ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ and we don’t know if it was because he followed Lady Gaga, who totally rocked with her rendition of ‘Born This Way’ and ‘Marry The Night’, but we were quite disappointed by his vocal performance and his stage presence.

Looking podgier than usual, the suave singer seemed uncharacteristically nervous on stage and we were elated when the track came to an end and he launched into a slightly better version of ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’.

However, he was saved in it by the wonderful orchestra and the fact that the audience joined in for much of the song.

Ok, so all you Bublé lovers can attack us in the comments section below, but surely some of you agree with us? Michael is normally much better than that live isn’t he?

Gary Barlow has admitted that he loved rehearsing his performance for Michael Buble’s Christmas special.

The X Factor judge left his duties yesterday, to go practice with the Canadian star, and took to Twitter to reveal what a ‘top bloke’ the singer is.

As he left the X Factor house, Gary told his followers:

All good,boys sound great.Off to rehearse with Michael Buble now for his Xmas special.

He later added:

Great rehearsal,shooting the show tonight,what a top bloke mb is

Gary headed back down to the studio last night to tape his appearance and afterwards told fans:

Just come off stage.went well.homeward bound.

Michael Bublé will front his own TV special on ITV this December titled ‘Michael Bublé: Home for Christmas.’

The crooner will be joined by a host of celebrity guests including Gary and comedienne Dawn French, and will see some unmissable duets, including an exclusive performance with The X Factor’s Kelly Rowland. Michael and Kelly will join forces for the first time to sing one of the country’s best loved Christmas hits.

Simon Cowell has reportedly chosen some new X Factor judges.

The music mogul is said to be determined not to take part in auditions for the UK series in 2011, as he wants to pour all his energies into his new American version of the singing show. However he doesn’t want the old one to fail and The Daily Star reports that the music mogul has approached some very famous stars about joining the panel and helping choose talented singers for the live shows.

The newspaper says that Cowell has lined up Take That star Robbie Williams, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Canadian singer Michael Bublé – all of whom have been great supporters of The X Factor in previous series.

They will all appear as guests judges at the upcoming nationwide auditions, however some believe that Nicole will replace Cheryl Cole on a permanent basis, when she moves to America to join the new panel.

Speaking at last month’s National Television Awards, Simon said:

“Expect big changes. There could be different time slots and different people.”

He also revealed that an official announcement about the lineup of US X Factor will be made within the fortnight.

Niall Horan has admitted that he has a bit of a crush on swing singer Michael Buble.

The 16 year old X Factor finalist is competing as part of boyband One Direction. He met the Canadian Heart-throb last Sunday, when he performed his new single ‘Hollywood’ on the ITV results show.

Niall admitted that he was blown away by Buble and told The News Of The World:

“I have a man crush on Michael Buble, he’s the man! He’s all I have on my iPod.”

He added: “I’d love Justin Timberlake as a mentor. He’s my absolute idol!”

One Direction looked chuffed to be dancing with a troupe of hot cheerleaders on tonight’s show. They sang ‘Kids In America’ and afterwards Louis Walsh raved:

Boys that was a brilliant way to end the show. You remind me a little bit of Westlife, Take That and Boyzone, you could be the next big boyband.

Well it’s time for us to eat some humble pie as we admit that we were wrong about Michael Buble.

The Canadian Heart-throb appeared on Sunday’s X Factor show and sang his new single ‘Hollywood’. We (and many other bloggers, fans and twitter users) were sure he was miming the track but speaking on Radio 1, Buble has refuted these claims.

He told Scott Mills:

“Did they not listen to me I was flat and out of breath.”

“I had to go down a key because I was sick and couldn’t hit the notes.”

“If I was going to lip synch wouldn’t I just do it to my recording.”

Many people remarked that Michael held his mic so far from his mouth, that he couldn’t have been singing live, however he hit back saying people are “too used to seeing people jam mics in their faces because they’re lip synching.”

Buble claims that he would NEVER mime on a TV show saying:

“Absolutely not I never have, never in my life.”

“I have mimed for videos but never have I mimed for a live TV show.”

However he refused to criticise Cheryl Cole, who did mime parts of her song on the same show. Michael said:

“I think if you’re dancing it’s acceptable.”
