Michael Underwood was kicked off Dancing On Ice last Sunday night, and now it seems he is blaming everyone for that but himself.

The first person he picked on was judge Nicky Slater. Nicky awarded Ray Quinn a score of 5 on this weeks show for an almost flawless performance and went on to award Donal MacIntyre, who is nowhere near his level a 4.5.

Michael told The Sun: “Unfortunately this series there’s been a lot of random scoring — inconsistencies — Nicky’s scoring especially.

“He’ll be giving Donal 4.5 and then Ray five and the difference between Ray and Donal is not point five. You want to see consistency.”

Michael then turned his attention to the girls claiming that they have a much easier job on the show than the males.

He said: “The girls can get away with it — they can be lifted, they can hold positions, they don’t have to have as much feet on the ice.”

Michael Underwood has been voted of ITV’s Dancing On Ice.

This is Michael’s third stint on the show and thankfully after tonight we will never be forced to watch him skate again.

Michael found himself in the bottom two with Melinda Messenger and for the first time this series the pair split the judges vote with two voting to save Michael and three backing Melinda.

I feel that Michael lost support tonight not because his skating was bad, if that were the reason then Coleen and Todd would never have survived for so long, but more because he criticised Todd Carty in the newspaper this week. Todd is obviously the nations sweetheart this month and to diss him is to bring the wrath of the British public on your head.

So Michael’s gone…..no big loss there!

Dancing On Ice competitor Michael Underwood has hit out at Todd Carty for his on ice silliness saying that he is trying to mislead the viewers of the show.

Last week Todd was seen stumbling off the rink in what has to have been one of the most hilarious TV moments ever, but Underwood says that Carty is a much more skilled skater than he pretends to be.

“Todd is nowhere near as bad as he is making out,” Underwood told the Daily Star Sunday. “When the cameras are off he is gliding along the ice but then once the routine starts it’s like he can’t stay upright all of a sudden.

“He is definitely trying to play the clown and trying to fulfil the John Sergeant role.”

TV host Underwood also revealed that their are fears for the safety of Carty’s professional partner Susie Lipanova.

“Susie has actually talked about how worried she is about getting injured,” he explained. “OK, Todd’s clowning around is funny up to a point but she doesn’t want to get dragged down with him if one of the silly stunts goes wrong.

“At the end of the day he might be having fun but this is her career and she feels she’s taking a big risk skating with him.”

Stars of this years Dancing On Ice series are said to be furious that Michael Underwood is taking part in the show for the third time!

Michale trained as a reserve for the show in 2007, he then took part last year before having to dro out when he broke his leg, this year he hopes to last a little longer. However some of his fellow competitors feel that all the extra training he has received over the three series will give him an edge over them.

Michael told The Sun: “Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it’s an advantage — but breaking your leg isn’t. It takes a long time to get over that.”

A source said: “Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It’s unfair and they told him they think so.”

Dancing On Ice starts next Sunday at 7pm, ITV1.

Michael Underwood is hoping that it is third time lucky when he competes on Dancing On Ice 2009.

Michael was a reserve for the 2007 series, then dropped out early last year after he broke his leg during rehearsals. This year he will be partnered with the gorgeous Melanie Lambert.

Michael’s career started when he won a six week CBBC presenting contract on Gaby Roslin’s BBC television show Whatever You Want. He has since worked on CITV, Jungle Run and GMTV.

TV presenters Michael Underwood and Angelica Bell are said to have signed up for this years Dancing On Ice. Underwood was to take part earlier this year but broken his ankle and was forced to pull out.

Underwood and Bell have been dating since July and are said to be spending every minute at the ice rink rehearsing for the show. At the minute Bell is on the reserve list, but at the rate that lot clock up injuries, she’ll probably end up on the show at some point.

A source told The Daily Star: “They’re really thrilled that Michael has been given another chance and excited that Angelica is taking part too.

“They hope they might be able to do a routine together.”

GMTV’s Michael Underwood was devastated last night after a fall during training ruled him out of the rest of the Dancing On Ice competition. Michael was taking part in a usual training session at Elstree studios ice rink with partner Melanie Lambert, learning his new routine, when during a standard stopping manoeuvre, he fell awkwardly on his ankle. Rushed to hospital in an ambulance, but with movement in his ankle, Michael hoped that it was just a bad sprain, but after X-rays, was devastated to discover that it was a clean break.

An ITV spokesperson said: “After breaking his ankle last night, Michael Underwood can no longer compete in Dancing on Ice. The whole team are sad to see Michael leave the competition in this way and wish him a speedy recovery.”

Michael said: “I would like to be be able to tell you it was something amazing, like some triple axle that I tried to do and failed, but all I was doing was trying to stop!”

“My reaction immediately was devastation, I was devastated. I was really upset and you’ll see that [on Saturday and Sunday] I was really upset but now I’m trying to put it all into perspective”

“It’s a clean break, to explain, there are two bones going down your leg that are attached to your ankle – one of them for me has snapped! The good thing is it hasn’t become un-aligned, it’s still in alignment and should set fine. Hopefully according to the doctor there won’t be any long term damage!”

“I have worked so hard, so hard and I am hoping that the people at home will see that I have improved over the time – from week one to week two and again I would’ve hopefully improved from week three. I think that’s the thing that hurt the most, I put in all this effort and time and I just wanted to prove I could do it – I just haven’t got the chance now”

“I’ve had a great time being part of the show, it’s been brilliant and I’ve had so much support from everyone and big thanks to everyone who voted. Who knows, maybe I can present my own skating show!”

“I’ll definitely be there for the live show on Sunday, I want to support the other guys and see them do well – it’s going to be hard, yes, but I want to be there to support them”

GMTV roving reporter Michael Underwood, 32, is sure that becoming svelte is his key to becoming king of the ice.

“Yes, I used to have a real problem with late night snacking, and I mean really bad. At half eleven at night I’d get hungry and eat
something and not just snacks. I’d properly eat which is not good because obviously you go to bed on a full stomach so I’ve completely cut that out because Lycra is very unforgiving and I still need to hit the gym now.”

The latest member of the GMTV entertainment team, Michael started his career hosting a number of shows for CBBC including
the successful Saturday Morning show Ministry Of Mayhem. Having recently been decamped down under reporting for GMTV on the latest series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Michael admits that the other skaters are now looking stronger and he’s worried.

“I was in Australia for a month and during those four weeks these guys have literally caught up and moved on. I’m playing catch up at the moment and I’m getting really worried. People like Suzanne Shaw, Gareth Gates and Hollyoaks Chris Fountain are phenomenal. I’m getting on ok but I need to get on better.

“It’s far too early to talk about rivals, but I’d go for Greg Rusedski because he keeps winding me up. He keeps goading me implying that I’m some sort of ex-European skating champion, he keeps saying ‘you’re just a liar Underwood’ when I say I’m not improving. I think he’s playing a game and actually talking about himself, so I actually think Greg Rusedski’s one to watch.”

Michael is conquering long held skating fears by taking part in Dancing On Ice.

“I went a few times (skating) when I was younger, one was for a kid’s birthday party when I was about eight or nine but I never enjoyed it.My memories of any time I did go were horrible.It just hurt your ankles,was cold,hurt your hands – basically awful. I haven’t got positive memories of ice skating.”

Speeding his way through training, Michael admits that whilst he’s starting to master the basics he isn’t ready to attempt lifts with his skating partner Melanie Lambert.

“My skating’s not bad, I can go backwards and forwards. I can’t pick anyone up yet, I haven’t tried that but I am getting some speed up which is apparently the difficult bit. It’s not just about doing the basics, it’s doing them at speed and at the moment I’m going quite fast which is good.It does mean however,that if you fall over you break, or hurt, or damage yourself, so I’ve got to be careful.”

Paired with professional skater Melanie Lambert, who partnered last year’s champion Kyran, Michael is playing it cool when asked whether he’s worried about becoming as good as him.

“I think the pressure’s on her more. She’s got to try and make me as good as Kyran [Bracken],that’s her pressure not mine.”

With the first live show looming, Michael reveals something that might give him the edge over the other competitors and one thing he is excited about will be silencing the laughter of his harshest critics.

“I’m thinking about my posture.The coaches have been telling me that what they’ve noticed in previous years is that posture hasn’t been great. Apparently if your posture is good and your feet mess up, to everyone else it’ll look good so I’m trying really hard to work on that but we’ll see, I don’t know if it’ll work.

“My friends have been laughing – they all can’t wait to see the outfits. It’s that thought of ‘Michael in Lycra, that’ll be hilarious!’ type thing, and I’m like ‘thanks guys, that’s brilliant, you’re really helping here’. I think they can’t wait and also they know that I’m not very good and not the most patient person in the world. I think they really can’t believe that I’m learning something like this so it’ll be good to prove them wrong.”

Having mastered skating backwards, Michael’s still apprehensive about falling over and still suffers from the occasional tantrum during training.

“Skating backwards on the ice for the first time as been a real high point for me. When I was first on the ice I couldn’t move backwards at all, I didn’t get it, I didn’t understand how you could possibly move backwards but now I feel really comfortable. I feel more comfortable going backwards than forwards so that achievement was amazing and I loved it. Now, whenever I get on the ice the first thing first I thing I do is start going backwards.

“But I’m dreading hurting myself. I suppose everyone would say that but I am dreading it because it just seems like it’s only a moment away. I mean just the other day I accidentally kept my skate guards (blade protectors) on my boots. Now if you keep your guards on and step onto the ice, you fall straight over…bang! It serves me right because Hollyoaks’ Chris (Fountain) did it earlier and I was laughing at him and then I went on and did it.

“There are so many highs and lows at the moment. I think I’ve had days where I’m so annoyed that I just can’t go on any longer,in some training sessions you’re not picking anything up and there are some days where you feel like you forget what you’ve learnt the week before or even the day before. I’ve had days where I’ve been frustrated and I’ve sat there in a bit of a grumpy mood. It’s terrible – I’m like a little child.”

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby preside and each week our resident panel of expert judges will scrutinise every dance, hoping to be increasingly dazzled by the thrill, speed and grace of the live ice performance.

Each week it’s up to the viewers to judge the talent and make the final decision on who should skate on… or off the championship.

11 million viewers tuned in to see ex-England rugby ace Kyran Bracken crowned Dancing On Ice champion 2007 after a nail-biting contest which saw him fight it out against Clare Buckfield and Duncan James, as each performed their own version of Torvill and Dean’s legendary Bolero.

Jayne Torvill said: “It’s fantastic to be back after the success of the first series and we are looking forward to joining a new batch of celebrities on the ice.”

Christopher Dean said: “We have a great mix of stars from the worlds of sport, radio and TV who have the potential to match some of the outstanding talent we saw on the first series.”
