We loved the energy and relationship between married couple John and Josie Kenny when they first auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year.

The pair went by the stage name ‘Mr and Mrs’ and sang Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade’ when they first tried out for David Hasselhoff, Amanda Holden and Michael McInytre earlier this year. They later revealed that it was their wedding anniversary, so the panel had made it the perfect day by giving them three yeses.

Tonight, the duo took to the stage and sang Katy Perry’s Teenage Dreams. It didn’t work….not because they couldn’t sing, they both have perfectly nice voices. But it was a bad arrangement and an ill advised song choice. It was only once the chorus kicked in that things picked up and even then…..it wasn’t by much. We weren’t a bit surprised when Simon Cowell buzzed.

And Josie needs to work on keeping her hair out of her eyes. She looked like a long haired dog, with her fringe falling in her eyes like that.

After the performance Simon Cowell said ‘it wasn’t great.’ He said it was the ‘wrong song’ and said in future, John should stick to the piano, while Josie sang.

The Hoff thought it started ‘shaky’ but said the pair ‘really got into it’.

Michael loved the audition and said that he missed John’s cheesiness tonight. He also scolded Josie for her ‘annoying’ hair.

Amanda liked the extra confidence and thought both singers did themselves proud.

Mr and Mrs tonight became the latest in a long line of married couples to try out for Britain’s Got Talent.

However, what made them stand out from most of their fellow couple based acts, is that they were actually quite good and really very talented.

We saw them perform on tonight’s final audition show, when the Music teacher John Kenny and his wife, social worker Josie, aged 55 and 44 stunned the judges with their version of Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade.’

After their performance Amanda Holden said:

You were brilliant together!

While Michael McIntyre added:

It’s three yeses!

Will the singers land a place in this week’s semi finals? You’ll have to tune in later tonight to find out!

In front of a live audience of 300 people, show hosts Fern and Phillip tried to persuade Lembit to get down on one knee, but he was having none of it!

“It was so embarrassing,” one audience member told The People. “There was an awkward silence. Poor Gabriela didn’t know where to put herself when Lembit refused to ask her.”
