Nadia Almada has given her first TV interview since she left the Ultimate Big Brother house and shed some light on her subsequent breakdown and suicide bid.

The 33 year old shot to fame as the winner of Big Brother Five and claims that on her return to the final series of the show, she was bullied and victimised by American rap star Coolio. She also insists that footage of her was badly edited by Channel 4 and Endemol and key interactions and breakdowns were not shown, so that she would look worse to the voting public.

Speaking on This Morning, with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Nadia blasted the TV show saying:

“You cannot trust Endemol/Big Brother anymore. They’ve lost the focus of a social experiment that they had initally, now it’s more of an entertainment platform.”

She added:

“I was assured that it was going to be a celebration, going to be a lot of fun. It was the end of an era, the end of a show and they wanted the best of the best and obviously they wanted me to be in there. But there were a lot of things that happened, I had my meltdown and I had a panic attack in there. That wasn’t shown. I feel a disappointment at the lack of loyalty I’ve been given by Channel 4 and Endemol.”

On why she attempted to commit suicide, Nadia admitted that emerging from the house to a booing crowd and later being abused in the street, led her to doubt herself and spiral into a deep depression. She said:

“I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was really really ashamed of myself. I thought I had disappointed my whole family and friends and also my fans and I felt that I’d did something wrong. I had a guilty conscience, I think there’s a bit of Catholic punishment thrown in there as well. I’m my worst critic.”

“Why did people detest me so badly? You automatically think that it’s because of something you have done wrong, it can’t be because of something you have done good.”

Nadia went on to defend her comments to BB11 winner Josie Gibson about her boyfriend John James (read more here) and said that Ulrika Johnson over-reacted to their row over a broken plate.

Not much remorse there then!

Big Brother star Nadia Almada has admitted that she may have picked the wrong moment to approach Josie Gibson about her boyfriend John James Parton, but added that she stands by all the comments she made.

When Almada first met BB11 winner Josie in the Ultimate Big Brother house, she told her:

‘I don’t think he likes you as much as you like him.’

‘His kisses don’t seem real, it’s as if he’s afraid of women. Maybe he was traumatised as a a child, I don’t know.’

The statement sowed seeds of doubt in Josie’s head and led to her walking out of the house and into John James arms just a few days later.

In an interview with This Morning today, Nadia admitted that she could have picked a better moment to raise her concerns. She said:

My timing was completely wrong, I admit it and I would take it back if I could. But what I said I still stand by it.

As a viewer, I had grown to love Josie and I was dubious about John James. Yes, it was the wrong timing, wrong everything but I still stand by what I said. I don’t think there was a genuine interest from John James.

I felt like I’d known her and I felt like I needed to say it as a friend would say.

Australian hunk John James Parton previously asked his fans not to hold a grudge against Nadia, saying that he and Josie have no problem with the star. He told Now magazine:

‘She didn’t need to apologise. We just hope she’s okay. We don’t hold any grudges towards her and we want to send her our love.’

‘It’s really tough the criticism she’s had,’ he added.

‘She seems like a lovely lady. Maybe we will invite her round for dinner when we get unpacked.’

Ultimate Big Brother star Coolio has expressed his dislike for his former fellow housemate Nadia Almada, in an interview with Fabulous magazine.

The American rapper left the UBB house last month after an explosive row with the Portuguese transexual, who later attempted suicide and partly blamed Coolio for her actions.

When asked to play Snog, Marry, Avoid with BB stars Nadia, Ulrika and Chantelle, Coolio joked:

“I wouldn’t marry any of ‘em – but I’d definitely push Nadia off a cliff. If you could put Ulrika, Chantelle and Makosi all together as one woman, I’d snog her.”

On why he agreed to appear on the Channel 4 reality TV show twice, Coolio revealed that he only did it for the fee. He said:

“You can never have enough money. I like to invest and make a hell of a lot more money. The last time I did BB, I bought a Dodge Challenger with some of the fee.”

Big Brother star John James Parton has claimed that he bears no grudge against Nadia Almada.

Nadia later apologised for her comments but John says that was completely unnecessary. He told Now magazine:

‘She didn’t need to apologise. Josie’s walk-out had nothing to do with anything she said. We just hope she’s okay. We don’t hold any grudges towards her and we want to send her our love.’

‘It’s really tough the criticism she’s had,’ he added.

‘She seems like a lovely lady. Maybe we will invite her round for dinner when we get unpacked.’

Big Brother star Nadia Almada has apologised for trying to warn Josie Gibson off John James Parton.

When she re-entered the BB house, on the first night of Ultimate Big Brother, Nadia told the BB11 winner:

‘I don’t think he likes you as much as you like him.’

‘His kisses don’t seem real, it’s as if he’s afraid of women. Maybe he was traumatised as a a child, I don’t know.’

The statement sowed seeds of doubt in Josie’s head and led to her walking out of the house and into John James arms just a few days later. In an interview with Now magazine (Nadia seems to be doing A LOT of interviews for a woman on the brink of suicide!) Nadia apologised for the comments saying:

‘I apologise for those comments. They were insensitive and it was bad timing.

‘As a viewer I loved Josie, I just didn’t think [John James] cared for her the same way.

‘That’s what everyone else was saying.’

Nadia tried to shift the blame onto her fellow housemate John McCririck, saying:

‘He said [Josie] deserved better [than John James] too.’

‘Why didn’t he become the villain?’

John James, has told fans that he bears no ill will towards Nadia.

‘I didn’t much know about it ‘til Josie got out,’ John James told fans on a live web chat.

‘I don’t dislike [Nadia], she’s entitled to her opinion.’

Ultimate Big Brother star Nadia Almada has hit out at show bosses and Davina McCall for driving her over the edge.

The Portuguese transsexual was evicted from the BB house on Friday 3rd of September and attempted to commit suicide less than a week later.

Nadia was reportedly found by a friend who was staying in her council flat, having overdosed on prescription drugs and painkillers. Almada was rushed to hospital and a friend told The Sun:

“This is a cry for help. She is very unhappy.”

In a newspaper interview last week Nadia talked about the Coolio situation and claimed that Big Brother was covering up the worst of his behaviour. She added:

“I just feel my life isn’t worth living any more. I’m in the gutter and completely distraught.”

Speaking to Star magazine this week (Nadia sure does seem to be giving a lot of lucrative interviews for someone in such a bad mental place doesn’t she?), Nadia also hit out at Davina McCall over comments she made about her physical appearance.

During an episode of Big brother’s Big Mouth, Davina introduced comedian Jarred Christmas by saying:

“He has the charm of Coolio and the warmth of Ulrika. And he has the boyish good looks of Nadia.”

Nadia blasted:

“I was so confused. I thought people would maybe be a bit sympathetic towards me, not boo me. And I couldn’t believe that Davina didn’t ask me about Coolio.”

“It was unforgivable. I feel so let down.

“She’s someone I have always looked up to. Kids watch that show – she should be more responsible.

“For Davina to say I am boyish, what does she want me to do?

“Should I be a perfect, pretty size zero?

“It’s made me realise I need to have surgery and reshape my face. I am still not accepted as a woman.

“Davina’s comment has made me hate myself. I feel fat, I feel ugly. I am disgusted by myself when I look in the mirror. So I will have to try harder to conform.”

Maybe you should do that out of the public eye eh Nadia?

Brian Dowling has shed some light on Nadia Almada’s time in the Ultimate Big Brother house.

The 32 year old TV presenter won the show last Friday and was shocked to learn that former housemate Nadia had attempted suicide the night before. She claims it was because she was so badly treated by the public after her eviction and also points a finger at Big Brother staff for editing out incidents where she was bullied by American rap star Coolio.

But Brian says that the BB5 winner was not what she seemed. He told The Sun:

“Nadia has always been one of my favourite winners – she’s my Ultimate Housemate. But living with her was not what I thought it would be. There was lots of yelling. When she left I was like, ‘What is going on?’ It’s really weird that she’s not having a great time. I want to call her and be a shoulder for her to lean on. I can’t help thinking what I could have done.

“Her problems with Coolio were kicking off but I didn’t know much. I was in my own little bubble. Everyone goes through their own bull**** but she’s not been that happy and I’ve no idea why.”

Brian also admitted that he had worried about returning to the show that launched his career. He said that he feared fans would turn against him, as they had on Jade Goody when she returned to Celebrity Big Brother before her death. He added:

People expected me to be in and I was worried I wasn’t going to be asked. I thought I was too obvious. I was one of the last people they checked in with.

I had the Jade Goody thing going on in the back of my mind – people waiting for you to f*** it up. But I thought there was nothing I could lose. I’m still the same person pretty much as I was ten years ago. Viewers liked me then, why wouldn’t they still?

Nadia Almada has reportedly attempted suicide, after telling a friend “I want to end it all.”

Nadia’s friend Marco Sabba had previously claimed that the former Big Brother housemate was close to breaking point, after being evicted from the show last week. Sabba claims that unseen confrontations with and comments made by Coolio have driven her to despair. He wrote:

It is most concerning that the public was misled in regards to the dispute with Coolio. He made deeply offensive, homophobic comments continuously to her and the other housemates regarding gender and sexuality for many days on end which were not broadcast. It was made to be seen that Coolio left the house after Nadia erratically confronted him about hiding her shoes. This was not the case. Coolio was on his third and final warning from Big Brother about abusive and threatening behaviour. By this point Nadia had suffered a panic attack and was mentally beginning to breakdown. Not broadcast. It was made to seem that Coolio asked BB to leave the house. He was in fact *asked* to leave the Big Brother house by Sharon Powers. If Coolio had made similar comments regarding race, BB would have been obliged to show the dispute in FULL. The transphobic slurs made and broadcast on Big Mouth and BBLB merely reinforce BB’s position that homophobia and transphobia is fully permitted and encouraged by the BB platform. As a result, it has been made to look that Coolio asked to leave the house on the flippant actions of Nadia enraged over a pair of shoes – instead of after days and days of abuse. Her moods following Coolio’s departure were a knock-on effect from his time in the house. It was also not broadcast that Coolio intimidated and threatened Nadia with talks of a stabbing earlier in his youth.

Nadia Almada has admitted that she is on the verge of suicide, after being evicted from Ultimate Big Brother.

Claiming that the reality TV show has ‘ruined’ her life, the 33 year old star added that footage of her was badly edited to make her look like a ‘villain,’ when really she was the victim in the house.

Almada told the Daily Star:

“I want to end it all. I just feel my life isn’t worth living any more. I can’t carry on living the way I feel. I’m in the gutter and I’m completely distraught. Going back on ‘Big Brother’ has ruined my life. I was the victim in that house but I was shown to be the villain.

“I hate my life so much right now and sometimes ending it all is the only solution. I’m at the lowest point I’ve ever been

“My car has had eggs thrown all over it and I’ve had horrible notes sent to me, calling me a b***h. I’ve had to start avoiding people and stop answering calls.

“I feel betrayed by Channel 4. There was no loyalty from them, no duty of care. They failed to protect me.”

Nadia shot to fame as the winner of Big Brother Five and claims that on her return to the final series of the show, she was bullied and victimised by American rap star Coolio.

She said: “Coolio targeted me on the first night and he wouldn’t leave me alone. He kept asking about my gender status and he humiliated me over it. If it had been a racial slur they would have shown it but because it was against a transsexual they edited it out.

Makosi Musambasi has added weight to the claims that Big Brother covered up some of Coolio’s worst comments on Ultimate BB.

Big Brother 5 star Marco Sabba took to an internet forum earlier tonight, to claim that Nadia Almada is close to suicide, due to insults made by Coolio and ignored by Big Brother.

He wrote:

It is most concerning that the public was misled in regards to the dispute with Coolio. He made deeply offensive, homophobic comments continuously to her and the other housemates regarding gender and sexuality for many days on end which were not broadcast. It was made to be seen that Coolio left the house after Nadia erratically confronted him about hiding her shoes. This was not the case. Coolio was on his third and final warning from Big Brother about abusive and threatening behaviour. By this point Nadia had suffered a panic attack and was mentally beginning to breakdown. Not broadcast. It was made to seem that Coolio asked BB to leave the house. He was in fact *asked* to leave the Big Brother house by Sharon Powers.

He added:

I can only hope Nadia will forgive me for writing this on a public forum but there is no doubt in my mind that she is now at genuine suicide risk.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Makosi admitted that she had been ‘disgusted’ by Coolio’s behaviour. She said:

I was disgusted by his behaviour. You can’t go around calling people ‘they’ and I think it was the right thing that he left. He kept asking whether she was a he or a she. And he asked me and Josie to touch Nadia in an inappropriate way. I think he did have issues with Nadia as a person. I think him leaving was the best for all parties.

When asked of there were any racial problems in the house, Musambasi revealed:

I can’t remember any. But Coolio did say first of all to me, ‘We need to stick together. We are not like them’. When I asked why, he said, ‘We’re black’. But if you ignore something with Coolio for long enough, he gets tired. He’s just a little kid. I think he got tired of reminding me that I was black.
