Piers Morgan Was Upset By Natalie Okri’s Tears

Piers Morgan has admitted that he felt awful when Natalie Okri broke down into tears on stage last night, after she failed to make the Britain’s Got Talent final.

Piers, who has three sons of his own, said on his blog: “I’d just like to say a special word about poor young Natalie, who was distraught at missing out on her final place.

“I was watching as she walked off the stage at the end crying, and thinking, like everyone, ‘I hope her mum’s here somewhere.’

Susan Boyle and Diversity Through To Saturday’s Final – Little Natalie Okri Cries On Stage

susan-boyle

Tonight saw the first sem-final of Britain’s Got Talent 2009. The acts went from the brilliant (Diversity) to the really atrocious (Darth Jackson) but all in all it was a pretty amazing piece of television.

Susan Boyle sailed through to Saturday night’s final (though I’m not sure that she deserved it) leaving Diversity and Natalie Okri fighting it out for the judges vote. Piers chose Diversity, Amanda chose Natalie but Simon saw sense and went with the real talent, also choosing Diversity.

Whilst it was definitely the right choice to make, how bad did you all feel when little Natalie broke down into tears on the stage. It makes me wonder if that sort of pressure is good for a child so young?

Britains Got Talent Semi-Final – 24th May -Liveblogged……. Almost

Diversity kicked off the show tonight with a really clever and entertaining routine where they even managed to work in a ‘vote Diversity’ move. They have to be the best dance act we have seen on BGT so far, they beat George Sampson hands down!

Judges Comments:

Piers: They don’t come more diverse than you guys. You lot were fantastic tonight!

Amanda: You want it for you, I want it for you. It was intelligent, innovative and so funny. Utterly utterly fantastic.

Simon: It was absolutely fantastic. It was sensational, congratulations.

Next up was Sue Son the violinist who ditched her best friend for the chance to play in front of Simon. Sue had a complete makeover with seriously long hair extensions. If she was going for the Vanessa Mae look then she surpassed herself. There is no denying that Sue is talented but after being wowed by Escala on last years series I was left strangely unmoved by Sue tonight.

Judges Comments:

Piers: You have taken lots of stick for getting rid of your friend but after that performance you were vindicated, we were vindicated. Well done

Amanda: You have really grown since we last saw you. What kind of best friend was she that she would deny you this chance?

Simon: I would always sacrifice friendship for success because she was terrible and I think you are really really good. However your personality didn’t come across well in that performance. You are talented but not that likeable.

Darth Jackson came to the stage next and I was cringing before her even started his routine. The heavy breathing Michael Jackson dance-alike appeared on stage with his crew of storm troopers and kind of shimmied around between them. It is such a shame that the judges put such an untalented and boring act through to the semi finals when so many truly gifted people were turned away.

Judges Comments:

Piers: Is Michael Jackson really in there?

Simon: You are insane! When did you dream up this monstrosity of a routine? You really are barking aren’t you?

Natalie Okri appeared mid-show and hopes were high for the pretty young ten year old. Whilst I loved the routine it wasn’t a patch on her first audition performance. The girl was cute and talented all by herself. She didn’t need a loud backing track drowning her out, in the end the effect was that it was hard to tell what was Natalie and what was the background music and singing.

Piers: You are incredible, I couldn’t do it and I am 4 times your age.

Amanda: You are beautiful, you are really confident, you look like you enjoyed every second. Well done!

Simon: I still totally adore you and you are one of the cutest kids I have ever met. I wouldn’t have chosen that song though. It was more cutesy than I would have preferred.

Julia Naidenko belly danced her way onto the stage next and Simon Cowell’s eyes almost left their sockets. It was hard to tell what she was doing most of the time as the camera angles were so bad and so widely sweeping, but as Amanda buzzed quite early in the routine I am assuming that it wasn’t all good.

Judges Comments:

Piers: I am sorry that Amanda buzzed you but jealousy is a terrible thing! I thought ot was stunning performance and thanks for bringing all your friends. We can’t have you in the final as Simon Cowells heart can’t put up with all this.

Amanda: I’m not worried about Simon’s heart! I buzzed as I think the Queen would be upset at how distracted Prince Philip and the boys would be during your routine.

Simon: I also apologise for Amanda’s bitchy comments as I think the royal family would love you.

I had the sick bag ready for Nick Hell’s performance tonight as watching swing bins from his ear lobes last night left me in a bad way. Ant warned me not to try this at home, for flip sake I can hardly watch this at home! So he starts off by drilling his nose, that’s one cure for sinus trouble. Then he pickaxed a plate from his nether regions and started to take a chainsaw to a cucumber, I was relieved when Piers put him out of his misery.

Judges Comments:

Piers: You are disgusting, your ears are repulsive and the whole thing makes me physically sick.

Amanda: I don’t think Piers should get personal and I hate myself for wanting to see what happened with the chainsaw.

Simon: The idea that we would put you in front of the royal family when you are doing things with a cucumber and you have a chainsaw is ridiculous.

Faces Of Disco had an easy act to follow but things looked bad when they got an early buzz from Simon. Even wearing masks of Mr Cowell himself couldn’t save them and Piers was the next to buzz them out. I found the act kind of witty but not really very astounding or hilarious.

Judges Comments:

Piers: It was brilliant until the final ten seconds and then I thought I’d died, gone to heel and seen twelve Simon Cowells following me.

Amanda: You have a huge amount of talent and I don’t think its a one trick pony.

Simon: I probably did buzz a little early as the end was sensational. Why did you bother with the other faces?

Susan Boyle came out on stage to a thunderous applause and messed up her first few notes of Memories from Cats. She was certainly a bit more preened than on her first appearance all those weeks ago, but she was still the same old Susan. By the end of the song I found myself wondering what all the fuss had been about. Susan can definitely sing, but she is by no means exceptional. It is all about the story for sure.

Judges Comments:

Piers: Susan you look absolutely beautiful tonight and you sang beautifully too. When the world was going through a tough time along came Susan Boyle.

Amanda: Susan you’re turning into Eva Peron! I’m just so relieved that it went so well for you. I am so proud of you and proud that you represented Britain so brilliantly.

Simon: You are one special lady and I want to apologise for the way we treated you before you sang the first time. You made us look very stupid.
