Four celebrities go head to head in a culinary battle as each hosts their idea of the perfect dinner party in a bid to win the ?1000 prize for a charity of their choice. Potty mouthed ‘Most Haunted’ presenter Yvette Fielding goes up against sex bomb and ex-Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, Catchphrase kingpin Roy Walker and Corrie star Les Battersby aka actor Bruce Jones.

Yvette’s up first and professes to be intolerant of fussy types and celebrity nonsense; it doesn’t bode well as guest Bruce Jones is a very fussy eater. He sends back his soup because he doesn’t like cream and unfortunately for Yvette this then ends up all over her trousers. As Bruce continues spouting off on the long list of food he doesn’t like, Roy reveals himself to be quite a charmer with the ladies- paying special attention to Natasha Hamilton. The evening ends with the host in hysterics.

Host two is the glamorous Natasha, ‘Mr Fussy’ Bruce is nervous about various dishes but Roy is happy for her to serve up egg and chips he’s so smitten. Over dinner Yvette has let slip some very indiscreet bedroom stories involving yoghurt and the evening ends with the sort of sing-along that would make a bad pub singer sound like Shirley Bassey.

The third host is none other than catchphrase king and all round ‘Legend’ Roy Walker. If Bruce moans on his night Roy is threatening to give him a bag of crisps, but it’s the girls he should be worrying about as both of them hate black pudding. Whether the food manages to win them over or not Roy sets out to be the host with the most; an evening of japes, jousting, press-ups in the middle of the kitchen floor and some special merchandise from the ‘Legend’ himself. While Roy’s still swooning over Natasha, Yvette and Bruce have a French kiss mid course – brace yourselves!

The climax of the competition is left to Bruce who, on taking on a surprisingly challenging menu, is hit by a bout of very bad nerves. The guests anticipate his night with trepidation as he’s been the fussiest eater of the week. With stress pouring from every pore, he welcomes the three celebrities for one final jaunt of bizarre-looking dishes. There are more shocking revelations from Yvette, and the winner is revealed, walking away with the £1000 prize for their favourite charity.

Sunday 01 November 8PM – Channel 4

After a very exciting, warm and humerous evening it was sad and a surprise to see Luke and Natasha voted out by a combination of the judges scores and public votes. Tonight the contestants had to sing country and soul songs.

 Luke and Natasha sang first, lighting up the studio with their joyful performance and brilliant dance moves.  They were placed third by the judges with 23/40

Top of the judges’ leader board was Strictly Come Dancing Brendan Cole with very talented R&B Singer Beverley Knight who entertained us with their heartfelt performance.  The judges were impressed enought to give them 25/40 putting them top performers for the evening. Judge Ce Ce later said she felt should have scored them higher.

Cricketer Mark Butcher and singer Sarah Brightman who have tied for top place for two nights running started badly as Mark could not hear the music due to the audience’s rowdy enthusiasm but on his third try gave us a beautiful perfomance earning the surprisingly low score of 19 even though Mark carried on like a trooper after his shakey start.

Ex-Eastenders’ Hannah Waterman and Wet Wet Wet’s Marti Pellew gave such a boring performance that judge and vocal coach Ce Ce Sammy stated that she nearly fell asleep during their performance as it was so boring.  They received a surprisingly high score of 22 putting them tie for 4th place with John and Jocelyn.

Watchdog presenter Julia Bradbury and singer Tony Christie wowed us once again with their very professional performance for which the judges rightfully gave them 24 points putting them second on the leader board.

Eastenders John Bardon with partner soul singer Jocelyn Brown gave a performance which brought a standing ovation from an adoring audience.  John is obviously much loved with an ineresting voice and is a great entertainer. He has an enermous fan in Tito Jackson (Jackson five fame) who always scores him higher than the other judges.

We were entertained by Marti and Sarah singing a very romantic and breathtaking Summertime while the viewers votes came in and were counted to be added to the judges ponts.

Judge Ce Ce had to choose the duo to be saved from the bottom three and she chose Julia and Tony leaving John and Jocelyn and Luke and Natasha to sing for further votes from the viewers with Luke and Natasha, sadly saying their good byes to us.  We will miss them and their very talented performances.

 

 

Tonights final of the celebrity duet show ‘Just The Two Of Us’ saw ‘Cutting It’ actress Sian Reeves and partner Russell (The Voice) Watson competing with Holby City actor Mark Moraghan and ex Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton for the ‘Just The Two Of Us’ trophy.

Both duets had four songs to sing which included

Mark and Natasha:
1) Kids
2) You Can’t Take That Away From Me
3) I’ve Had The Time Of My Life.

Sian and Russell
1) Great Balls Of Fire
2) Annie’s Song
3) I Would Do Anything For Love

and the final song ‘Your Song’ was sang together by all four finalists.

Throughout the show Mark Moraghan and Natasha Hamilton remained at the top of the leader board as the judges favourites to win, with Sian Reeves and Russell Watson following closely behind.

At the end of the night I think everyone would have agreed that Mark and Natasha were definately the more talented couple. Mark’s singing beat Sian’s hands down, so that should have been it. Mark and Natasha deserved to win.

But as we know the public never works that way, instead the public voted for Sian’s vast improvement, for her and Russells increased chemistry, and as always, for the under-dog.

Sian Reeves and Russell Watson were named the winners of ‘Just The Two Of Us’ they were handed the trophy, but at the end of it all I think we all knew who the winners should have been don’t we!

There have been many travesties in the world of reality TV, take the eviction of Maria Lawson from the X Factor while The Conway Sisters remained….awful!

But tonight almost matched that for unfairness. ‘Just The Two Of Us’ on BBC1 saw the public vote to keep celebrity duos Mark Moraghan and Natasha Hamilton, and Russell Watson and Sian Reeves in the show for tomorrow nights final while Chris Fountain and Jo O’Meara were sent home.

I just wonder….were the public watching the same show as me? Sian is not only mentally unstable, but she can’t hold a note! Russell may have a technically good voice but he is soul-less. His duet with Curtis Stigers tonight was in tune, but while Curtis sang with passion and emotion, Russell looked like a big cold fish. He rarely smiles, when he does it looks fake and all Sian does is witter relentlessly. Then if she doesn’t cry she always looks like she’s about to.

I just can’t bear watching them in the final, I think that at the start of the show Vernon Kay and Tess Daly should declare Mark and Natasha the winners, end the show early and the BBC could then resort to some old re runs of ‘Only Fools And Horses’ to fill the gap. It would be a whole lot more entertaining than watching ‘The Voice’ and ‘The Nervous Wreck’ for another night!
