It seems that Jesus wannabe Nathan James – who is one of just five remaining finalists on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s talent quest show Superstar – is earning a reputation as a right diva backstage…
But what’s more, he’s apparently been so nasty to some of the production crew that Superstar’s bosses have “read him the riot act” over the weekend.
The Sun reports that Nathan reduced a female member of the production team to tears last week when he lambasted her for not ensuring enough seats in the audience were reserved for his family and friends.
He also apparently screamed at the show’s make-up artists, telling them, “Never touch the hair!”
One unnamed source at the show said, “He must think he already is Jesus to be getting away with this sort of stuff… Read more & comment »

Yesterday, we reported that Superstar boss Andrew Lloyd Webber had ordered some of the chubby finalists to slim down if they hope to be in with a chance of landing the lead role in his remake of hit seventies musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.
And it seems he’s also ordered all the finalists to cut out the booze and nookie – banning the wannabes from having lady friends at the luxury house the finalists are sharing – in order to make them “focus” on their singing and performances on the live shows.
A show insider told the Sun, “For a show about finding the new Jesus Christ Superstar, some of the behaviour has been distinctly un-godly.”
The paper adds, “With the exception of teetotaller David Hunter, contestants had been indulging in boozy sessions after the live ITV1 shows and while watching the pre-recorded episodes…” Read more & comment »

Superstar creator Andrew Lloyd Webber has reportedly told a few of the remaining hopefuls that if they want the role of Jesus in his remake of hit musical Jesus Christ Superstar, they need to shed a few pounds!
Citing his reason for the direction, he said, “McDonalds didn’t exist in AD33.”
Oucha magoucha.
But according to the Daily Mirror, the finalists have had no qualms in taking the slim down order on board, and Nathan James has lost an incredible two and a half stones since auditions began. Tim Prottey-Jones, who was eliminated on Wednesday night, lost 18lbs.
It’s understood that finalist Jeff Anderson has also been told to watch his weight… Read more & comment »

Andrew Lloyd Webber has revealed to TV Biz that if he could, he’d give all of Superstar’s eleven finalists a place in one of his musicals if he could, and he reckons he has the very thing…
He explained to the paper that he penned a rock opera entitled ‘Cricket’ for the Queen’s 60th birthday in 1986, and he hasn’t given up on the idea of one day seeing it come to fruition.
He said, “Eleven great singers, it’s enough for a cricket team… that’s a good idea!”
However, Superstar is of course all about the search for a singer to play Jesus in a remake of Lloyd Webber’s hit musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and as fans of the show will know, last night saw the first stage of the live rounds.
And while speaking to the paper, Andrew gave his opinions on each of the eleven finalists… Read more & comment »

It’s been revealed today that the lucky ten finalists in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s talent quest show Superstar are already enjoying a taste of the high life that could be to come by sharing a luxury mansion in London.
The exact location of the house hasn’t been revealed amid security concerns, but the PA report today that finalist Nathan James is delighted with the house, which features a sauna and a cinema room.
Describing the huge house as “pimped out,” cruise ship and holiday camp singer Nathan said, “We are living the life of luxury at the minute which is incredible.
“Our house is out of this world, you feel like a star.”
However, luxury or not, some finalists are apparently feeling the strain of sharing a house, and finalist Dirk Johnston has admitted that the constant singing that goes on around the place can be annoying, even when it’s his own! Read more & comment »
